Fast Piglin Bartering Farm Tutorial | Minecraft 1.17 (Java Edition)
Piglins can produce a lot of items and setting up a bartering system is quite easy. The problems come when you want to use a lot of piglins to barter items and sort them efficiently. This bartering farm uses 24 piglins and sorts all the items they provide. This works in Minecraft Java Edition 1.16 and 1.17+. I recommend building this near your gold farm and if possible close to a crimson forest for easy access to piglins. As long as you can keep up with the gold these piglins need, you'll never be without their items again.
🚨 Update: To stop the piglins despawning either nametag them or give them gold armour that they pick up. Also, don't leave the farm running when you leave the area or logoff as the slime blocks can get into an incorrect position. It's easy to fix, just break and replace them as per the design.
This is designed for Java Edition 1.16 and 1.17+

Just an interesting observation, if you adjust the repeater on the back of the droppers it affects the number of times the dropper can fire and therefore the amount of gold that is fired, this can be used for when you don't want 24 piglins: 4 ticks = 2 fires = 6 gold = 6 piglins 3 ticks = 3 fires = 9 gold = 9 piglins 2 ticks = 4 fires = 12 gold = 12 piglins 1 tick = 8 fires = 24 gold = 24 piglins *note: Logic has it set to 1 tick by default
Thank you for this!
Legend thank you
That's amazing. I was going to build this but 24 piglin seemed a bit too overkill for a single player, as well as 20 double chests for each blackstone and gravel. I will build it with 9 piglin then.
The best farms, tweaked for efficiency, simplified for ease of building and use, and explained so well that anyone can understand how it works. This puts you above and beyond most others on youtube. Thank you for all the work you put in these!
Agree 100%
Any chance this works on Bedrock? Has anyone tried it?
Only 5 days and impulse watched it, made the farm, recorded the episode, edited the video and published it. Jesus Christ
He's such a machine!
works well! if you are in a paper server or any server with item stacker give the hopper clock a little bit more delay like 25 or 26 items and cover all sides of slime blocks with leaves or else you end up wasting some gold ! if this comment was useful like it so others can see that as well !
Legend thank you!
@@TopCat_92 you can add a delay behind the observer too
@@ehsannd8537 i did that too and its working well now! thank you buddy :)
Very useful
a) did u do 25 or 26 when you built it? or does it rlly matter? and b) is that 25/26 more items or just 25/26 total
Literally just finished my gold farm and was needing a good bartering farm that isn't the insane gnembon one. Logic always coming in clutch with these tutorials.
Ieoy
im building this one because the gnembom one was very broken for me funny enough
Easily the best bartering farm on KZhead given the ease of construction/use to output ratio. Couldn't be happier with this setup. Thanks, Logic!
And this is why you're so amazing! Taking a complex farm and explaining it so the average person can easily have a go at it. Thank you Logic
Thank you so much! I was designing my own and about to build it in my SMP, but yours is just so much more space-efficient. I will be building yours instead, so thank you!
Thank you very much for the brilliant tutorial. For anyone else whos slime blocks get stuck together when first trying run it back sure all your repeaters are timed properly. I had missed setting one to 4 ticks.
I know the Legacy videos take a lot of time to cater to a larger audience with something technical, some building, some storyline, and some advancements. The work put into them clearly shows. I'm the type of player who pretty much just goes for Minecraft mechanics though and am very excited to see the classically elegant logic farms returning!
Perfect tutorial. Thanks for showing and explaining the farm before you build. Some other people don’t even show the build before they start the tutorial
I just finished building this!! It works great, thanks so much for the tutorial! Keep up the awesome work
Thank you so much for doing this video! I asked for it when you did the showcase on the legacy smp sever. I got some hate asking for it, but I hope that you doing this gives you great reviews and lots of love! Great farm, and great video with explanation. I love learning from all of you content creators! (Edited for typo)
Just finished building this farm in my survival and it works hella fine! Added shulker loaders under the filters (except for potion and other "garbage" stuff) for more storage. Thanks for the tutorial!
By far the best tutorial I have followed on KZhead. Great work!
man, your videos are so good. i like how explain the reason for every system in a build.. keep on
Thank you for explaining everything and how the pieces work. Really useful for someone learning red stone like myself.
I really love your tutorials and videos in general. I think I found you through DocM77 mentioning you in one of his videos and since then I started to watch half of you "road to hermitcraft" and the entire Legacy SMP 2 series. And it is so cool to see how you style has improved over time. Your content is amazing. If I look for a farm to build and I have more than one to choose I always look at yours first.
just finished this build and it works like a charm. easy to follow and is super efficient
You make this so simple to understand, both concept and the build. Amazing!
This will definitely be my next farm after I finish my raid farm. Thank you, sir.
This is brilliant! Such a good tutorial and an elegant set up. I have a manual bartering set up which I've been wanting to convert - this will be the design 👍
Update: built and working like a dream
Thanks for the help. You do a great job explaining how everything all works together!
Love it, you're an absolute champion Logic. I had 23 redstone in my hopper clock, just gives all the items a chance to land before the pistons fire...
this was easy to follow and you explained it really well, thank you!!
Can’t wait to build this! Thank you Logic!!!
Logic, your tutorials are amazing - not only great step-by-step instructions, but you actually explain how they work, which I feel like most tutorials are lacking. Thank you!
Totally agree with @schadvick. Logic's calling is bridging the gap between Sci-Craft and Hermitcraft. We need "Beyond Logic" season 2!
ever watched gnembon?
@Ahmad Ansari nice, I would say Gnembon, LogicalGeekBoy, Ilmango and RaysWorks r the 4 greatest minecraft tutorial channels (for farms and stuff)
@@gomaodabike there are rumors that rays works is a scumy trash
@@user-uv5nn1rk8i they arent rumors he is a shitty person Theres a 33 page document on how bad he is
Hi Logic, great tutorial and awesome design, like always. I have one minor improvement. You can put the hopperline that sends the item to the next chest when its full (4th from the top) one higher. In that way you can save some iron or put 7 instead of 6 chests in a row.
You are insanely good at these stupidly efficient farms! Gg logic!
Very good design and a golden middle between something like gnembons bartering farm and multi cell designs with single pigling enclosure. Hint: when the chest gets empty, after some time you will have gold only in lowest dropper because it is supplied by most hoppers with their storage capacity.
I have about 0.75 brain cells, so it took me awhile in survival. I first had all the initial redstone components one block too high, then one block too far back, so I had to redo all that twice. Finally I got it right but the droppers weren’t firing so I went into your world download and discovered I had forgotten a repeater and messed up the placement of a small thing. What I’m trying to say is not only are your tutorials great, but the world downloads are an absolute LIFESAVER
well explained and considering a lot of difficulties players might have!
This is the most elegant and feature complete version of this farm that I've seen. Amazing work, and thank you for putting the time into it!
Oh boy, Today I build this farm. I had to build a tree farm first to get all those hoppers/chests. the build-part was not too bad but those Piglins where annoying as hell. But now it is all done and I am AFKing at my gold farm. Thanks for sharing!
works super well. Thanks for the good and easy tutorial :)
It's worth mentioning that it takes around 50 minutes to finish all the gold(if the chest+hoppers+droppers are full). It also needs 121 stacks of ingots or 13.5 gold block to fill it.
I appreciate you so much Logic! I watch a lot of tutorials, but yours are always the best. You may talk fast but you are still very easy to understand (:o)
thank you so much great design !! already got plenty of materials
I AM BUILDING THIS AS SOON AS I CAN, THIS TUTORIAL IS AMAZING
Great guide was really easy to follow and build! Thanks alot :)
Great farm, just finished building it in survival. Might mention it needs 1 extra iron nugget and 1 extra string column as there is a slight bit of overflow in the boots/books chest at the end. other than that it works perfectly, cheers.
This is such a cool farm! Logic is a genius!
finally I have been waiting for legacy's batering setup
I actually did the maths on the piglin bartering rates for my own bartering farm project and the exact number is 3,449(.673202614379) items per hour per piglin. Glad to see your empirical testing showed this was accurate! Also, you're using 24 piglins here to presumably get the maximum possible without entity cramming, but another good number to aim for (for a slightly smaller farm) is 15 because it turns out that's how many you need to process gold ingots dispensed at exactly hopper speed.
Gnembon spoke about that in his video as well.
What a video! Love your content❤
As always, Logic´s tutorials are one of the best. keep up the great work. By the way, works great in 1.19.2.
Hey Logic, I’ve just built this and it’s great but I do get the odd piece of string in the book and armour chests. Not a big deal but thought you might want to know.
Your content is great, all the best to you and your family sir!
finally found the trader i've been looking for. still cant build it on my skyblock world since im gate keeped by packed ice but im looking forward to build it.
Awesome tutorial. Thank you :-)
Can u tell us the schematic and tutorial of raid farm in the end on the legacy SMP because I love it!!
Amazing like always 😊
Great tutorial, I've been trying to build one of those for myself, with mixed success. I'll definitely be taking some inspiration from your build! :) But If I may, Piglins can also spawn in the Nether Wastes, contrary to what you said at 20:29. I've built mine in that biome. Of course, there's also the bastion, but then you'd have to deal with brutes.
Yup - I built a small spawning platform above the Nether Wastes roof and spawned in plenty of piglins. I used turtle eggs to attract and drop the zombified piglins to their death to separate them from the piglins.
These are very great to have running!
When u built this on legacy i went to the legacy website and copied it from there, it works great!
Im definitely going to build this. ❤
Absolutely love using this farm on Legacy, and happy there's a tutorial for it! It's a great combination of being absolutely nuts, but still practical to build. Thank you for the tutorial Logic!
You know a farm is good if it needs multiple ways to deal with production overflow.
Great design! One thing I found helpful once it's time to get the piglins in - instead of placing and breaking a block, use a trapdoor. Much easier.
we also can fill the item sorter's highest hopper with 11filter blocks for each column(so there are 44 items in the hopper) so that only 1 wanted-filter item in the 1st column and able to prevent overflow
Wont work if even a small number of one item comes through then it can go above ss 3 and power the rs dust to the sides and unlock other hoppers
Since we have allays and we can use them in athis system you can add them in the setup to sort the books and boots. Thank you for this amazing and simple bartering farm Logic. I don't need to go minng for quartz and killing animals for leather ever!
Great tutorial! Somehow there are some ghasts spawns from time to time. I even tried to cover most in a layer of glass but they still appear. Not sure if it is the redstone in the sorting they spawn on or on some chest somewhere, didn't think they could. Any ideas?
It works well. Got to be precise with the Piglin prison part though. One wrong put piece of glass and they all burst out when you turn it on. If I were to build this again I'd use more glass just to make sure.
8:37 for item list (also in description) 9:01 for tutorial.
built this one before, and will build it again. Also, I'm looking for just the "slimeblock pusher" for other farms but without the gold dispenser obviously. Have built it myself, but it's a redstone mess (tho it works) in my guardian farm.
First of all, you've done a wonderful job explaining this farm. Works like a charm. Only problem is that my gold farm which is close to the bartening system used to work before I build this farm. Now the pigmen doesn't spawn anymore. I'm in a nether waste biome, everything should work but they just don't spawn anymore. Any idea why, and how can I fix it ? (My server runs Spigot but should only affect xp efficiency)
man i love you!!!
Nice video!
How do I build the end of the sorter, and where it connects to the rest of the storage, if I'm using hoppers instead of ice? I just want to add unstackable item sorting/discarding for a small, not very fast small-scale piglin bartering farm.
My current bartering setup uses 3 piglins but with an extra 0.8 second delay added to limit it below 9000 items per hour. Might try building this at some point though
So the only problem I have, is Blackstone gets overflowed into the book and boots chest, not polished black stone but Blackstone?
1.18.1 Does work! Java Paper server As EhsanND said in his comment, put 26 items in the hopper clock, and cover the pistons and slime blocks with leaves! Great farm
Do you know if you could build more piglin chambers and hook it up to the ice way?
1:41 How do you manage to have the Piglin on top of the carpet and yet able to seal off the ceiling of the chamber? When I don't have the carpet, the Piglin can't pick up the item (even with a glass roof), but when I put the carpet down, I can no longer put the ceiling back in due to the Piglin's collision. Edit: I did manage to figure it out shortly after posting. You need to drop them into the chamber with a minecart, seal it shut, then remove one of the bottom blocks of the walls to punch out the minecart.
The piston pushing solution is simply inspired. I was doing a mega base using quartz as the main material several months ago and ran into this problem a lot, boy do I wish I had this back then. Would've been simpler than the mess I made. If you need a ton of the items from these guys, I highly recommend plugging this bartering system below Gnembon's gold farm. You'll still need to convert a lot of the ingots by hand, but the output is mental, even with just the bars that drop from killing them by hand. I still don't understand how the piglins aren't getting pushed into the leaf blocks, tho, is it cus the slime blocks aren't full blocks so they act the same way as glass and they clip into it?
Pay attention to the *7* air blocks at the start. Somehow did 5 and now I 2 less double chests of storage per row.
please help, the filters arent filtering the items, they do for some time but then they fill up and they jsut dont filter and go in the first chest, i use blue ice and buttons and the items dont go in them
1.20.1 Does Work confirmed. Adjustments may be needed if your server has item stacking. Also, I'm noticing some overflow in the last chest row, not sure if that used to be there in 1.18 or not.
Brilliant Logic; one thing though, can you link the iron farm you'll need to make all the hoppers first 😂
Thx cool and fast farm
Great tutorial, clever gold distribution. ~~One thing: Looks like in the 1st pre-built version you use a DISPENSER instead of a DROPPER for the potions which discards all the splash potions. In the tutorial a DROPPER is used here, which makes more sense.~~ (oh you explain that)
you could use a dispenser if you don't want those potions
Dang, you called the sorter an Impulse SV item sorter, but called the Etho hopper clock just "hopper clock".
Thanks for the end stone rose
I haven’t put in the Penguins yet but I hat I did test it and I noticed that some items will just float above the hoppers is there anyway to fix that
i dont understand how the nonstackable items are filtered for the last 2 ice hoppers. it looks like a splash potion remover into a potion sorter but its not clear why excess gravel for example that would be burnt in the netherrack wouldnt just get picked up by the last 2 hoppers and dispensed like the non stackables? could it be explained pls
me *watching the whole video even though I will never build this farm*
Why not?
Well u could build a smaller version of this with just a few piglins if u want Shulkercraft has a tutorial fr a small bartering farm if u want.
For anyone like me who likes to use splash potions of fire resistance, just replace the dispensor that destroys them with a dropper, as you only need to add redstone to make them 8:00 potions, whereas if you convert the others to splash potions you need redstone + gunpowder, just saves resources :)
How far back should i build the hopper clock if ive already built the item sorter
im on 1.18.1 and for some reason whenever the pistons shift a gold just flies 5 far away
Great video ! what mod or pack do you use to get the arrows on the hoppers and redstone dust signal strength ?
VanillaTweaks has this as a resource pack option
great thank you !
You could even sort out the boots with a furnace I believe. Wouldn't be the most worth it since if you're building this you most likely have an iron farm, but would be more books.
hey logical . nice video again . noob questions here , im wondering if we have to give a nametag or a golden armor piece to the piglin to prevent them to despawn. you didnt show it in the video. thanks you
I nametag mine everytime I build this farm as I forgot to the first time and every single one of them had despawned
How can you place a block on top of the piglin's head while its hitbox sticks out slightly into that space? I can't do it.
Great farm! Surprisingly easy to build in survival as well. Only issue I'm having is the hopper minecart, even though it's lined up perfectly with hitboxes, after a while it'll only be filling the top hopper leaving the other two empty even though the cart hasn't moved. Any ideas?
That can happen if the chest isnt filled anymore. Because then the items travel in exactly with hopper speed and one of the hoppers is able to pick up all of them
@@N1ZE93 That sounds like the issue as when I initially tested it, I just dumped a few stacks of ingots in the chest, but in my actual setup, the chest is being filled by a single hopper chain.
for me there's somehow lot's of items getting stuck at the first hopper, any idea what i can do about that?
I just built this farm. It works quite well but NOT as well as shown here nor as well as what people are mentioning in the comments. The problem I'm having is that the gold bars that are being spit out by the top dropper are bouncing off of the glass block in front and spilling up onto the iron bars where the hopper minecart is. Does anyone else have this issue? Do you or anyone else have a solution for this? I have added glass blocks and even a solid block just above and in front of the dropper. It still bounces backwards and goes through the blocks. How is that possible? I am thinking of taking out that dropper completely. My wife suggested putting dispenser instead of droppers. Would that work?
Instantly Clicked on this. Can't wait to see this design
Give a leather boot with binding enchantment and put them above snow block so the can stand above the snow block but the items will go down the snow block and push them with piston and u can also place a 2 vine so u can put many piglin they don't die by entity cramming 🙂
2200 days into my Hatdcore World and now i have the Best farm in the game! I love concret so this farm is perfekt!
