  • Reminds me of Clint Eastwood's Grand Torino movie. Jack loved Bailey like his own daughter, albeit rough around the edges... he took her revenge on that evil man that used and abused her so she would be Rid of him for the rest of her life. Very powerful ending.

    • But how would Jack know that? I think Jack had been 1 of the bad men from the bar scene he flashed back to. I think because he was dying he knew he had to get to town and kill his cohort. He didn't like junkies and those types of women but Bailey changed all that.

    • @@mikeburns360 But when Bailey went to wave at the plane Jack told her not to because it was the plane used to dump her then later Jack's brother said they had flown over. So how did Jack not know what plane his brother flies in? Plus Jack didn't look like he took the road into town he tracked through the bush why? What was he hiding from? His brother who was a cop? He also seemed to know exactly where to find the freezers. Who has those types of freezers in their home?

      @MissX905@MissX9052 ай бұрын
    • @@MissX905 Jacks brother never flew in a plane. He said a buddy of his flew over. Jack was trying to protect her by keeping her there as long as he could so she wouldn't go off and get herself into trouble by trying to find and kill the guy herself. This is why he hallucinated his brother after she stated what was on her mind all of the time. Thats when it was clear he made up his mind to go on one last hunt. He was hiding from everyone. He only dealt with Bailey because she fell in his lap. He wanted to go to the cabin and die alone.

    • I am in Maine off grid out in the woods. My neighbor that has passed away was a Viet nam vet that looked and acted like the guy in the film and he had a younger female that was in a drug rehab program live with him awhile to help her out. This movie reminded me of my neighbor and that girl and he died of cancer too. Also the real life serial killer Robert Hansen that killed, raped and then hunted over 30 women at his remote place he got to by flying his plane is a lot like this move. I heat and cook with firewood and split it by hand for exercise. I have a Stihll 440 chainsaw and do all the stuff shown in this move.. Felt like home watching the movie . My view looks like in the movie too... all woods and I am on a hill. Gotta throw some more wood in the stove but it has been very mild winter here. Last year there was 2 feet of snow on the ground. This year it is bare ground. Great movie.

For me, the plot is a bit too predictable, but perhaps that's because I recently saw Robin Wright's "Land" (the plots have a lot of similarities). I was surprised that, according to the comments, many didn't get the meaning/ending of the film. I hope before his death Jack felt satisfied in having saved the girl's life and getting revenge on the evil pervert.

  • well it sure makes it hard for other old guys who are dying that don't have no cause to leave in a very compassionate way - unless trying to live long enough to see your old dog out - this movie has something to say about the human condition and in real way which is rare - it has the things in it that are real - the cruel nasty demonic elements that plague so many people all over the world - and yet it shows us that there is hope - even if it just one old dying man - and he found a reason to live long enough to find purity in how he left - there are many different type of portals that come as we die or are dying - that allow us to break free of the world and its lies that have been served up to us all our lives - and this man found his portal so that soul of the karma he left with evolved past what he would have had just dying alone in the cabin - It is something to think about - when I say that I have no strenght left to travel or do stuff - stuff I always use to do without much thought - when you get old and near death - you don't lose your dreams - you just lose the ability to follow them - unless you really dig deep and push yourself to keep going - guy I use to talk to when I walked my dog was 99 - and he was fading, and I asked him would he make a 100 and he said = he was trying - but he died 3 months short of 100 and when I walk past his house - I say what he always said - "you can do a lot of stuff if you pace yourself." -- so I try to get one thing done each day - this movie had a great script and it shows you that the main difference in a good movie and a bad movie is not budget but the flow of conversation - the script - and when you see a movie like this - 1 out 20 that is great - it makes it hard to go through another 19 to find another well written script. the old guy I told you about - if you walk to the end of his street it meets up with Valley Rd.
