10 years ago on American Idol this young lady would have been shut down and today the judges are seeing possibilities. This performance was uncomfortable for me but I do hear talent. It was overwhelming but with training she has potential as long as she’s humble and bendable- we’ll see!

I think some of you are reading too much into her performance rather than just listening to the different variations of her voice. like she is showing she can do it all and that is the point to come to these auditions and show tf out. come on now they still need entertainment for the show. She is for sure going to get on that stage and prove why she deserve better than American Idol in my opinion . I think she knows exactly what she is doing. I personally have never really seen many girls of color do alternative music as one of their main choices and its refreshing and new and fun to see how far she goes! She makes me channel my inner teenage years.

It's better to give too much than to leave them wondering is there anything else. Just being able to be directed is a skill in it's own right. She has shown the world that she can master singing, acting and has a personality. When you were young and you work for Disney (Young Nala in the Lion King) you learn how to engage the audience. She was incredible. I was surprised by any hesitation!! The theatrics of her personality seemed a little all over the place, but she is incredibly talented. Her skirt was uncomfortably short though. She seemed like she was screaming for too much attention with her antics.
