  • I love T-Mac so much. The only person I ever looked up to as a kid athlete or not. I get so upset when people try to discredit him. What people forget is as great as he was he played even better in the playoffs. Look at his playoff numbers from 2001-2008. LEGENDARY! Too bad injuries and LACK OF QUALITY HELP(Besides Yao who was injury prone as well) kept him from succeeding in the playoffs. He is a Hall of Famer and Legend that was just unlucky. Nobody can say he didn't put in the work and put up the numbers!!!! T-MAC WE LOVE YOU!!!!! BRIGHTEST SPOT OF MY CHILDHOOD

  • Breathtaking tribute. T-Mac was a big part of my childhood and this video almost had me tearing up, no joke. Amazing talent and never fulfilled potential, thinking about what he might have been just makes me sad. Contrary to popular belief it was not his injuries that prevented him from absolute greatness, it was his character, his drive and I hate to say this but luck was also a big part of his demise. Takes a 3-1 lead vs would-be-champions-next-year Pistons in 2003, the year they changed the first round format from best-of-5 to best-of-7. Drew freaking Gooden was their second best player that year. Wins the first 2 games vs Mavs on the road in 2005 and loses the next 3 games by total of 11 points. And later in 2008 Tim Donaghy reveals that particular series was rigged. Was expected to win in 2007 vs Jazz, and had game 7 at home only to see Yao Ming grabbing 6 rebounds vs Carlos Boozer's 14. That was the year Warriors upset the Mavs and the West was wide open. There are many examples like these. But ultimately he just didn't want it enough. He just never had that factor, that extra something which sets the greats apart from the others. Yes he was unlucky but if you want it enough you can make your own luck. Did you know that he missed 11 of his last 12 shots and 9 free throws in his 62 point game? Mind boggling. So much potential, so much wasted talent.

But thank god, let me get through the time of T-mac. This guy just integrated everything a heroic character's life. Born talent, miracle creator and trageic ending. So dramatic, so poemtic and so awesome.

I hope he ends up being in the HOF but i'm not going to keep my hopes up. It's too bad injuries messed with him. If only he could of had shaq instead of an injured grant hill in Orlando. • If only Tracy and Yao had been healthy together. Once Yao got his confidence and became really good, they both were never healthy at the same time for any lengthy period and never during the playoffs. Houston would have gone to the finals and most likely would have gotten at least one championship if not for the alternating health problems with both of those guys. Man what could have been. During the few short periods they were both healthy together Houston was a true championship caliber team that would have been difficult for anyone.
