Enthusiasm
Thank goodness for being honest of how hard it is to paint and fix walls, thank you for sharing!
Julie, this was my favorite of all your videos! You kicked booty, shared humanness with French fry pizza and honestly, are an OCD kindred spirit :) so many DIY or thirfting KZheadrs DO NOT CLEAN and it drives me crazy. Your technique of spotless carefulness was so lovely for your environment. May your Italian home bring you joy, peace and beauty.
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Julie Pizza with what? omg 😱 this is available in Italy 🇮🇹? I love your KZhead channel, I would have liked to see you on tv as a commentator for the coronation, unfortunately the reception of the station is not possible in Germany, greetings and keep it up 👏
Good heavens my dear!! Get yourself a roller extension pole!! Here in the states one type goes by the brand name ‘Sherlock’, and it can take a universal twist attachment. You’ll never need to get on a ladder again, full stop. I’ve painted professionally for a decade you’re doin’ it the hard way. 😝
I would love to see and hear John talk about his robe and coronet he will wear at the coronation.
Will you and Luke also be going to the coronation as viscount and Viscountess?
@@nanabutner I read a pice in the online news the other day that they may not be worn at this one as a move to modernine and the optics in this day and age. Not sure of m source but I definitely read that. Inteesting to know either way.
@@mariahoulihan9483 Yes, it will be interesting to see what happens. I hope they don’t do away with all the pomp and ceremony, because then it becomes just another swearing in ceremony.
@@nanabutner I think there will still be lots of traditional, and sacred, elements. they won't do away with it all. The King is a traditionalist but very mindful of modernising. I think he and his advisers will strike a good balance. I will be watching it as its such an historical moment in our country.
Yes indeed it would be lovely to hear him talk about that...
Julie, just a suggestion. You can attach a broom handle with threads to the handle of a paint roller. This will save you a lot of up and down on the ladder. No crooked neck or sore arms. You’re doing a great job!
🙏🏻🥰
I thought the same thing! My husband used to use a gizmo called the Wagner Paint something...you filled the handle with paint (it was a long handle) and it made it so much easier to paint the ceiling and high walls! Beautiful job Julie - you are inspiring me!!
@@AmericanViscountessPlease stop saying, „ Everybody….“ I’m listening and watching, as I’ve welcomed ed you into my own home (thanks for sharing yours with me), and it’s much nicer to feel you are speaking directly to me. „ Ok, (everybody) I’ve just painted the entire ceiling.“ Try it and see❤
Hello from Washington State!! I just found your channel and I’m obsessed with your Italian home renovation. You are absolutely adorable and so fun to watch. I would love to have a home in Italy nut it is much more of a challenge living in the states :). Love, love, love your channel!
I so, so much enjoy your Italian house renovation project. It is on the top of my list to watch and always can't wait for new episodes. You dd great in 48 hours!
The one thing we can count on is your ability to measure properly! It is one of your strengths. Love everything that’s happening!
Honestly, whew! Wow, that was 10 workouts in 48 hrs, lol! All that cleaning, sanding, patchwork, and hole filing will make the painting last much longer. Excellent work! 💕🌿 You work so hard! Proud of you!
You're one of the hardest working people I've ever seen!
I really, really love your can-do DIY attitude! I know some people who would never in a million years get their hands dirty or tackle a project like this. Sad because it’s very rewarding!
I love the way you can joke about yourself. Great sense of humor and such a hard worker.
Love your DYI, hands on approach in all of your videos. Helpful painting tip; use a pole extender with you roller on ceilings and walls. It will save your back and make the job go much faster with better results.
3-28-23 U.S.A. Using an extension would definitely have made it more time and (physical) energy efficient. I had just posted a question asking Julie why she didn't use an extension, and then I found your post. Painting is such a chore, and anything that makes the job easier is always appreciated.
Hello Julie, thank you for another wonderful episode of your Italian house transformation. Your taste is exquisite, and I love the energy and humour that flows so naturally from you. I have become quite limited since a spinal accident and several following surgeries, but your energy and verve and sheer enthusiasim for life inspire me to try harder, and in spite of the cold, ice and snow- I live in Alberta Canada- I accompanied my husband as he took our Australian Shepherd for her walk. It was because of you and your never give up attitude. Thank you Julie.
Oh wow Elizabeth- you comment made me smile and I’m just so chuffed with what you wrote. Sending lots of love from England xx Julie
Agree, I’m a Designer and love Julie’s designs and her enthusiasm bravo.
It's a little late now to offer this advice, but painting ceilings using EXTENSION POLES is SO much easier! [Actually, walls are, too. ] Bear in mind for future projects.
My goodness, you're in great shape! So much work you did in such little time...and four kids! I love it! thank you for the Inspo.
You’re a machine Julie! What a result in such a short period of time.
I understand your love of this very small. house and you are doing a great job decorating . ❤
Julie, I love everything you are doing in your little Italian Home. Charming.
I cant believe I'm saying this but 'you go girl'! No really, you must be commended for doing so much in 48 hrs. The bedskirts look wonderful and the walls too. It looks so welcoming and comfy-you should be very proud. I love these Italian remos the best. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
I love your work ethic - me thinks you are the hardest working Viscountess in the land! The bedroom and living room look beautiful.
The Guest Room is lovely. Very excited to SEE the kitchen make over.
I've followed you for years and LOVE seeing the evolution of your Italy house...good job! Well done!!
Looks like a fun renovation and therapeutic as well. You pick out such nice decor for your Italian home.
That marble is unreal! gorgeous
I love your eclectic vintage style. I always enjoy watching your projects come together.
Thank you so much!
The color is perfect in your sitting room. Gave the room a great vibe.
Love the living room make over the colours so calming and the natural flooring and can be added to with different cushions and pictures anytime was great to watch thanks for sharing ❤
Always look forward to your Italian videos, Julie, and this one did not disappoint. Amazing!!!
Beautiful! Can't wait for finishing touches.
Looks amazing! If you place some windows in the door, you can have the wooden doors open for natural light when you are there😊
maybe a small secretary desk , and a beautiful wallpaper
I love watching the progress of the Reno's in your little Italian home. I'll be sad when its complete. Hope these videos continue somehow! Do you need to seal that wall, could it be mold? Oh my goodness, girl, you need an extension pole on your paint roller! Would have been so helpful for the ceiling! Everything looks lovely! 😃👋🇨🇦
Dear Julie, I love it: I love your house, (it feels a bit like I live there now too), I love how you enjoy your coffee, your pizza, your terrace, your Church bells, even hanging your clothes and I love you for being your unique self!
Looks classy and classic. 💛
Love the coffee table.
Julie - if that’s mold growing on that wall - you should definitely have a mask on the entire time!!😳
Looks fabulous. So much hard work…..but worth it.
I remodeled 3 old houses here in the States (1895, 1905 & 1911). Watching you brings back fond memories!
Great job Julie - as usual- I also get caught up in a job & forget to eat! Nice to be able to eat some carbs & not be concerned with weight! Really enjoy ALL your videos, with Luke & family too! Amazing job all around! 🇨🇦🇨🇦👏👏👏💐
Just found you I am from an Italian mom and dad I was born in the United States visited Sicily and Italy and envy that you have a home there such a dream of mine I look forward to future videos
You could put mirrors in those gilded round frames.
Great idea!
Oh Julie it’s beautiful! You are such a treasure!
Thank you so much!
Please wear a mask anytime you scrape, sand, or vacuum debris, especially if it is something "growing"!😮 Also, your hair looks great, and you are Wonderwoman!
Your sitting room looks great. I’m so impressed that you didn’t even tape off the baseboards before painting the walls. Well done. I know you’re tight on space on either side of the lovely sleeper sofa, but see if you can pull the end tables a tad further out from sides of the sofa so they aren’t so hidden under the roll out arm rests. They’re such pretty tables, show them off. Can’t wait to see what you do with the terrace!
That's a great idea!
What a fabulous job you've done Julie. It looks beautiful, colours perfect as well. Well done. Best wishes to you and yours from Newcastle Australia. I don't always leave a comment but I watch you all the time.
Your Italian villa is coming together beautifully!! You have such lovely children! Your son looks a lot like you!
I lOVE time lapses. We get to see how things are done.
Julie YOU are the reason Luke's family is able to save Mapperton. ❤️ You work SO HARD!
Oh Julie, I just loved these time lapse videos! You worked so hard and it looks so fresh and clean. Ready to turn into magic!
Thanks so much 😊
Many congratulations the house is truly a gem, you have made it so, really pretty. It will be nice if you can cover or partially cover the terrace. The summers in Tuscany can be brutal and it can also be a shelter for your outdoor furniture when you're away.
major anxiety here, watching you and your devotion, dedication and specificity! cheers,
I love seeing your Italian house I think it’s beautiful. I wouldn’t mind sleeping in one of your bedrooms. It’s so cozy and elegant. You have great taste.
Thank you so much!
I adore the colour of your sofa! And the colour you painted the walls!! You have done a super work! By the way your son is beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Love your enthusiasm Eat whatever you like, you look great!
Love the colors for LR, love the beds and proud of the progress of the muniment room. I look forward to this discovery of more letters, and how that’s gonna play into the story.
More to come!
Pizza con patate fritte is the best! Cannot wait to see your living room all dressed up Julie. 😃
Wait, my favorite yoga teacher on Grokker is a diy-er!! I am so excited that this video showed up on my youtube home page. Can't wait to watch them all. 💜
I love the exposed stone! You are doing such an awesome job with the renovations
Not the whole UK - in Scotland we say living room too! I like the pale colour you used on the walls but I'd suggest painting the back wall inside the fireplace in the darker colour to give a nice contrast and give a nice focal point, would also tie it in to the colour in the hallway (which you can see in the background). Tip for protecting your hair when painting ceilings is to wear a shower cap! I use the ones you get free in hotel rooms. I thought the couch would be better under the window as it looks a bit in the way when you walk in the door, but then you said there's a day bed going there. However I do wonder if you'd be better to use the door at the bottom of the stairs as the entrance to the house rather than the double wooden doors? That way you wouldn't walk into the sofa when you come in, it's also 'square off' the room a bit better I think. A curtain over the glass door would be nice for night time to give privacy (and cosiness) - and maybe a voile for during the day, or replace the glass with frosted/etched glass for daytime privacy?
WOW ! I definitely have “Julie, big Energy” envy after watching this episode! You did a great job in such a short amount of time. Love the soothing color palette! Can’t wait to see what you do to the patio❤ thanks for bringing us along on your journey.
Thank you so much! Means a lot! xx Julie
Guest bedroom radiator needs to be painted same colour as wall to hide it more. Also this bedroom needs a bit of warmth say gold trim on the line around the walls. Masking tape maybe and a gold line above? Maybe red in the cushions on the bed but some warmth needed. Love what you have done and boy you have been busy and know you have alot of energy and determination. Well done. Huge old brass chandelier and glass droplets would look lovely in your sitting room and lots of warm kelim style cushions and floor cushions and candlesticks of varying heights on alcove mantle.
Hi Julie the “stuff” you had to scrape off the wall was most likely efflorescence, which is a sign of rising damp. When you have more time you may have to deal with that more fully. It can mean having a damp proof course installed which can be done by a builder. See how it goes. You are doing a beautiful job. I can feel the house coming alive with your magical touch. I envy your energy😊.
Julie, love the renovations of your Italian house. I always watch these episodes, and I can't wait for the next one. You did a fabulous job within the 48 hours you had to work. Can't wait for the final look at the completed sitting room.
I grew up in a house with a double living room. One was called the living room, the other was sitting room!
Handsome son. Love all of the art! Love it all! It’s a shame you can’t stay longer to enjoy and relax!
Are you going to the coronation???? You need to blog it!!!
Wonder Woman!!! it looks great. Greetings from CANET / Barcelona.
Absolutely gorgeous! Well done, Julie!
Your home is looking really sharp, you may not be finished but it’s definitely coming along wonderfully.
Impressive work in so little time! What a beautiful haven you are creating!
It's really coming along. It looks great!! I have really enjoyed watching your Italian renovation project. Way to go!!
Love you enthusiasm and "hands on" approach. Unsolicited advice....I would move the couch to the opposite wall(if it fits). That way, one doesn't bump into it when entering the house or have to walk around it to get to the stairs. Of course I don't know your dimensions or you may have already tried that😊
I was thinking the same thing. Seems to block the flow of traffic through the door.
The living room/sitting room is so cute. You did a nice job repairing the walls before painting. And I love the three colorful paintings you picked for the room. With the daybed, you will be able to sleep 7 people. However, I find the placement of the pictures in the guest room jarring. The ones to the side of the bed are too high. They are higher than the ones over the bed, and even higher than the doorframe. There are too many objects at different levels. My preference would be to put them at the same height as the ones over the bed, and thus they would be centered to the height of the doorframe. In an earlier video, you talked about reupholstering the headboards but I actually like the decorative antique metal in the room. The bedskirts are very sharp!
The bed valances are beautiful. Very impressed with how perfectly they fit.
I adore this little house. It feels ‘right’. I wish I had your energy and vitality. I gave up yoga several years ago and boy I’ve noticed the difference. Love how the house is coming together. Nothing phases you, even the Italian language doesn’t deter you. Kudos to you.
Such a transformation. It would be nice if you would put the front legs of the sofa on the sisal rug. It would anchor the room and pull it more together. As for the pictures on the side of the door in the sleeping room; try to hang them a little lower. It makes a complete different feeling in a room if you do not look up to the paintings. Love from Germany Patricia
Hi! And yes great idea about the legs - will do! The reason that those pictures in the guest room are a bit higher is due to the fact that I am waiting for the peg rail to be installed just below it. the guest room is too small to have a wardrobe so I have made peg rails instead which will be ready on my next return! xx Julie
Wow Julie - you are such a hard worker!
You’re such an incredibly hard worker and I absolutely adore everything in your Italian home so far 😃 PS you deserved the 🍕🍕🍟 👍🥰🌻🙅♀️
I always paint the radiators to blend in.
Your little place in Italy is coming along nicely. I am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful future projects.
Thanks so much! 😊
@@AmericanViscountess You did a great job. Love the colour and you sofa is so nice too. Looks so beautiful. Can’t wait until you do the terrace. Loved the look of that pizza, never seen a pizza with French Fries. You living area is so nice and calm and serene, love it. Beautiful place to have. Nice pictures of your son and you enjoying yourselves. Can’t wait until the next video on this home.
I can't believe you did all that stripping and painting by yourself. That's amazing! Kudos to you! Can't wait for the terrace renovation. Does your son go to school in Italy to learn Italian?
Its beautiful Julie, well done and I so admire your stamina.
The house is looking fabulous.
Hullo! The stuff on the wall that has been degrading is saltpepper, the ciment was problably made with sand from a beach.
❤ Lovely paint job, well done AV 👌
Well done Julie! Wish I had half your energy!
Thank you EcoFlow for making Dan so happy!!!
Julie , you really are efficient with the short amount of time while you are in Italy . Bravo , all wonderful choices .
Thank you! 😃
Loved watching the transformation of the sitting room. Amazing work. I look forwad to the final reveal.
Parma is gorgeous!!!!
OMG the transformation is miraculous. You are a genius to do this in 48 hours. I can't wait to see the whole room finished. Bravo from Toronto!!!
Absolutely fabulous, I don’t know how you managed to finish that room in that short time, you are marvellous. The colours and furnishing so far are amazing, the little window is super cute too. Well done.
Thank you so much! xx Julie
You are AMAZING! I love your Italian house…just love.
Very impressive what you did, and in such a short amount of time. Love the furniture. Food looked great. Great vlog
Nice job! Can't wait for the kitchen and terrace now!
Love your Can-Do attitude!
Just lovely. The wall pictures just bring the room to life.
🥰
great job looks wonderful cant wait to see it completed with pictures hung etc.
I think you've managed to achieve a very pleasant, airy yet cozy feel in this low-light, wall-dense room. I like your choice of wall color, and especially the juxtaposition of (nearly?) robin's egg blue sofa with big sisal rug; it helps cue this 'nest' feel to the space.
