You probably don’t realize how you have been watched by all the local people who are jealous of you .
Julie, most of the antique tatting, pull work, embroidery, etc on the decorative pillow cases was the way a young woman displayed her handiwork and skill and were part of her trousseau. As the eldest daughter in my family, I am honoured to have examples of 4 generations of such fabric art in my care. It's always nice to see other people appreciate it for the craft that it is. Enjoy your enthusiasm.

Oh my goodness, Nestor is suddenly not a boy but a young man! The bathroom was very nice but your photos elevated it to stunning. The bedroom is lovely. The window nook cries out for a chair upholstered in a soft botanical print and a small table: a place to curl up with a book and cup of tea.
A beautiful yet simple finished result. Nestor was a great help to you, he is looking more and more like his dad all the time.

Hang shirts, jackets, blouses from the bottom….jumpers, dry flat… trousers - hang from the waistband…, socks by toes, knickers by the waistband… skirts same… hope that helps lol….. love that you can dry outside🙂🌞🤓

Julie, I found when I was living in Italy that speaking the language was fundamental in my fortifying my self confidence. It is a musical language so paying attention to vowel sounds,their pronunciation, and rhythm is important to be understood in general conversation. Good luck! ❤️🙏♥️

I think you picked the neatest little town to buy your home in, lovely home and wonderful antiques market. The bedroom is so stunning, you pulled it all together.
I just love old house stuff. Not just antiques, anything really. I love the idea of people using something from generations or even hundreds of years ago, especially kitchen items like bowls, pots, plates etc, which you know were used every day. They have such a story to tell, and honestly they just have a different feel/energy. If I lived near a market like that, oh goodness I'd be in trouble LOL. I'd love to live somewhere with a very long history, but I'd really have to give myself a budget!

The art of crocheted and embroidered worship is a dying art in so many ways. Young girls are not taught needlework like the old days. Sad really. We stayed at The Plaza In NY, years ago.The room was the size of a postage stamp. If the wardrobe doors were opened you couldn’t walk around the bed open the door or get to the bathroom. The wardrobe held the tv as well as clothing. We laughed every time it caused a barricade. Enjoy your beautiful Italian home. It’s really lovely.
I understand Italian far better than I can speak it, but persevere and you'll become more fluent in this beautiful language. I love the simplicity of the bedroom. It's done with taste and great thought. I have an old house and thoroughly understand what it means to have uneven shaped rooms. Makes it more challenging but interesting and quirky. The marbled paper is probably not painted - they're probably made by dipping the paper into an oil based paint that is swirled on the water, a technique from hundreds of years ago. The bed sequence to Verdi was perfect! Your bedroom is really shaping up. Good work!

Your master/primary bedroom is gorgeous Julie. Elegant. Have you discovered a British company called Peony? The faux flowers are created at the Ruckley Estate in Shropshire, England. Peony is the only manufacturer of faux flowers that has been recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society for their floral excellence. You could invest in some arrangements complete with vases and no need to worry about the flowers dying while you are away.

I find doing laundry very relaxing. What a cool idea to do it and learn a language at once... Anyway, if you invest in a sun umbrella for your outdoor space, you can place your darks and delicates on a hanger and hang under the umbrella so they dry without fading. Of course, sun dying your whites on the line you have is such a joy! Fresh, white linens oh what a simple pleasure!
Great and well fitting decoration. Just a suggestion: paint that rusty bed, it gives spots on the nice lace bedsheets which destroy the fabric and are not removable by washing.
Oh the photos in the bath are perfect! It’s nice to know there are others that like old doors, carvings around Europe. I have so many of Prague that I am in love with❤️ Your home is beautiful ❤️

Just a suggestion, you could get more of those curtains but drape them from bed. Love the colour on the walls and the little finishing touches.
Love your color and design choices! Agree the botanical prints might look better on another wall - maybe above the radiator? Or above the side tables. If you find a small console table with just 2 legs you could put the pitcher and wash basin on it next to the wardrobe. Bellissima casa!

The bed is beautiful ! I would dearly love to jump into that waterfall pool as well. It looks amazing. When I would go hiking I would swim in the glacier lakes. It’s a wonderful memory.

The lampshades next to the Florence painting are spot on. The lights in in your bedroom are so pretty and unique. The pictures in the bath are perfect. I'd minimize the vase down to a third as it will topple in a New York minute. Scale wise, I think the table next to the tub, as well as the bedside tables, could double in size. Something more substantial to ground the space. A lovely transformation.
