I actually do the same thing you do as far as removing the seats. I also removed all the carpet because it was heavily soiled. I scrubbed it twice and used a steam cleaner on it. • I have some of the same mental issues and have a long time. I taken medication 3 times per day for anxiety. I've several horrible panic attacks though it's been quite a while since I've had one. But the possibility still exists that I could have one when something goes horribly wrong and exceeds my stress level. I also have other mental issues as well. This is not uncommon and a person must accept this as a legitimate illness and live with these issues as part of their lives for as long as they live. After all a person who has these issues did cause them, did no ask for them and should not be embarrassed or ashamed. Seeking treatment is only way to keep mental issues under control. I commend you for getting counseling. There are times when I would like counseling for comfort and reassurance

  • The rims probably came off the firebird they have in their shop. Since it was a modified race car, they took those wheels off and probably put skinnies on the front and wider rims on the back (as you can see the stance in the video). Camaro / Firebird virtually the same car anyway. Plus, the honeycomb wheels from the firebird were a nice upgrade to any GM 5-bolt at that time. Lot of us would change the hubcover with the bird on it to something plane.

  • Totally fake. A car would not look like that left uncovered in a garage. You can see the drip marks on the fenders. Also, that stuff accumulated under seat has clearly been put there. It looks like lint from a clothes dryer or the material you’d find inside a blanket that movers use to cover your furniture. Inside a vehicle doesn’t appear out of nowhere, it is a result of use and not proper cleaning.

  • I’m not sure where this was found, but when the owner said she went to summit racing in Tallmadge, that is in Ohio and my father was the Chevrolet dealer there. I had a 1983 Z28 as a demo. This brought back so many memories. If it was in fact from Ohio, there is a very good chance it was bought from us. I hope the new owner has as many great memories with it as I had in mine.

  • Yikes! Once you have the seats out it takes very little to pull the carpet out and clean it on a sunny asphalt driveway without running the risk of wetting the Jute beneath. Then you can even use a hot water pressure washer on the carpet for a good clean. Additionally, the jute should be lifted in the foot wells to check metal for rust / treatment. I would have highly recommended this inspection for the owner at least. Beautiful car.

  • Great job on the cleanup of the old Z28! I have a Mustang that is pretty much a garage find! I keep it in a heated garage that is clean. I wash it once a year & keep it on a battery maintainer & do regular oil changes with Ford Racing full synthetic oil! I also am aggressive in keeping four footed rodents out of the garage. It now has 12K miles and runs like the day I first brought it home. Sadly I only drive it 50 or so miles a year. Most of those miles are going to a local coffee shop for morning coffee....LOL! Anyhow I wonder why some of these folks don't take a more active roll in keeping their cars up?
