  • The car is a 1988 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe. This was a one year only model. 1989 saw the return of the RS, which was the exact same car as this, but with mono paint schemes, and RS badges to replace the Camaro badges. This car is equipped with GM's venerable 2.8 liter V6, which was punched out to 3.1 liters for the 1990 model year. Since the Z/28 nameplate was dropped for the 1988 model year, the Sport Coupe got the wheels and ground effects package that came standard on the previous model Z/28, while the IROC Z became its own model, instead of an option on the Z/28, and the Z/28 badges were dropped from the IROC Z models, in favor of IROC Z badging. The Z/28 returned for 1991, due to Chevrolet not renewing their contract with NASCAR'S IROC series, and was produced through the end of the 1992 model run. 1993 saw the introduction of the 4th generation Camaro/Firebird, where the base engine grew one last time, to 3.4 liters. Anything else you'd like to know about these cars ?

  • Been noticing on some of your videos. When your power washing you reach over across the car and as you bring the power washer closer to you, the wash gets better. I would recommend doing your technique mirror image. When you do one side you do the other side the same way. Might get some better results and quicker.

  • As an auto tech, get the V.I.N. code from the windshield right in front of the driver's side. Get the code, call a Chevy dealer-speak to the service tech with the code. Hell plug it into the computer and you'll know the year the car is listed as. OR, read the plaqured on the door frame(jan-june, it's that year/july-dec, it's a next years model) these are the 2 ways to find out the uearpf a car. Doug

  • Love the video. New viewer here…. I was excited for this Camaro until I learned it was a V6 😅😅. One humble recommendation…. Back in the day I just to wash working tow trucks and instead of using degreaser products I used Mr. Clean… yes. The same Mr. Clean product you see in the grocery store… give it a try and let me know.

  • Those Camaro's came with those wheels...They were Camro RS,looked basically like a Z/28 but with a V6 and other differences. They sold a lot of those V6 Camaro's like that..Hell,not even a GM fan but owned many (car dealer bought sold cars for decades)...

  • The car is Pre 1990 (as 1990 was first year for updated dash and airbag steering wheel, which it does not have), my guess between 1987-89, its a base model (probably Berlinetta sport coupe), was originally yellow (actually a rare color for these cars, shame someone painted it red, red was very common factory color), the ground effects also suggests that it is late 80's as the early 80s cars were much different ground effects. The 2.8L engines were affordable, however not powerful and had a tendency to spin rod bearings, in 1990 they switched to a 3.1L that looks identical, however it made better power and was better balanced meaning they didn't spin rod bearings nearly as much.

  • It's an '88 Camaro Sport Coupe with the low rise wing spoiler. Pretty sure it was the last year for the factory yellow as well.

  • Awesome, I got a garage kept 1968 Camaro for basically nothing, just cut an elderly ladies yard for free for a year. Last time i cut grass, she said "Here, this is yours now" I thought she was joking, but I still have it haha I'd still cut her yard for free, but she ended passing away last February
