  • Hi guys! Have you ever been to the Caribbean 🏖 ? If so, which island did you like most? Let me know if you'd like to see similar videos with ATC coverage, curious to hear if you would prefer that over music 😏 Have a great day!😘

    • Beautiful! We live in the Caribbean and love it here. Our favorite Caribbean trip is to Saba via St Maarten/Stacia.

    • I’ve been to the ABC islands and to SXM. I made lots of videos and photos of planes landing at Maho beach. And because I shared the landing video of the KLM crew who were to bring me home, I got extra services during my flight back home. I could get into the cockpit (that’s where my profile picture is from) and got extra drinks and a business class kit. The Dutch Caribbean are such amazing places. My favourite is Bonaire because of the rich variety of diving spots!

  • I find full cockpit views very interesting - seeing the pilots, instrument panels and procedures and hearing the ATC comms as well as the pilots' eye view of the take-off and landing. All that, together with your matchless visual annotations, would be just THE BEST!

    • @@DutchPilotGirl Very effective, professional use of your text widgets and callouts! Yes, the ATC would be good to hear, and perhaps callouts in the cockpit but I think you should keep the text displays, your sense of timing in terms of duration to read is very good. In general, I think it is wise to differentiate between cockpit videos and flight view videos. They both have their place but trying to do too much in one format makes the editing very challenging, and there is a risk of overwhelming certain viewers, especially on a short (beautiful) flight like this. This was really a pleasant experience. Thanks SO much! You are an excellent pilot, and great communicator.

    • @@DutchPilotGirl I agree with Alistair, more inside views of the flight deck would be excellent. I don't know if your fellow pilots or your company would approve, but here is an superb example that would be a good template for such videos: kzhead.info/sun/ob6ymtKXnJpjrXk/bejne.html kzhead.info/sun/n6mLhtCugJZ5iYE/bejne.html This corporate pilot has done a masterful job at putting the viewer right there with them along with good outside views and time spent at many cool or exotic locations too. (in my view the videos 3 years old are the best - new ones not so much - I enjoy Shaun and John the best)

You inspired me to go for what I wanted from your first videos to your interview with Mentour and beyond, to just seeing how much more confident on video and speaking English your are now compared to when you started. Your 100K subscriber video you mention you hoped to inspire others to go for their hopes and dreams. Well you have, I wouldn't be a pilot now if I hadn't seen your channel first and now I'm enjoying my own sunsets in the sky. Thank you again.

We spent a day on Aruba about 20 years ago, came on cruise ship, drove with a couple we met on the ship around the entire perimeter of the island. Lovely island. We also spent a day on St. Lucia, swam on lovely beach, also Curaco, Grenada. One of my favorite pictures was in market on Granada, school kids coming from school, gawking at my wife, who is six feet tall.

Among our businesses was managing the oil and gas facilities of a Curacao company's Bonaire operations. This included supplying jet fuel to the airport. All went well for years until a Middle East sheikh showed up in December with his 737. The plane took off almost every day because the wives and kids needed to visit various locations near and far. Suddenly our jet fuel supply started reaching critically low levels and we had to arrange to have supplies brought in from Curacao ahead of schedule. If not there would have been a disaster at the airport.

  • It's interesting that in this day and age when, in the world of science and technology where conformity to the SI system is regarded as the way forward, aviation can still bounce around from miles to feet to kilometres to metres to nautical miles. I'm guessing that is largely down to the internationalism of aviation, and the fact that not everywhere employs the metric system. Great to have your traditional piece of music for the final approach. I find these approach and landing videos very soothing - I'm guessing you're not quite so relaxed in the pilot seat. Thanks for posting.

  • I was born and raised in the Dutch Caribbean, Sint Eustatius to be exact. I've been living in The Netherlands for over 20 years but occasionally I visit home, traveling through Sint Maarten. Landing in the Caribbean is always a pure delight for me. It's usually with KLM's A330-300 which is one of my favorite aircraft alongside the 777 and 787. Love the video.😀 I hope when i travel home in October, the landing is just as buttery smooth as yours lol. I didn't know you have your type rating for the 787!! Well done.😊
