  • That Valhalla is the brand new 55. Literally the second hull made and the first one to be bought by a consumer. The name is " hell in a bucket" which is fitting because it looks like absolute hell.

      @Stephen85@Stephen85 Жыл бұрын
    • @@Stephen85boatbuilder here.... I've never seen a outboarder that was in any aspect better then a well installed inboard motor. And you lose a lot of efficiency with every screw you add on top of outboard engines being less efficient by design. With every engine you add you loose a bigger proportion of of your power to inefficiency. One could say that you would probably only need a 1500hp inboard engine to replace 3000hp in five outboard engines. Other Advantages of inboard engines are that, since they are buried in the hull, are much less vulnerable to damage by the marine environment. They can be soundproofed a lot better. Essentially for that is a properly designed exhaust system with good mufflers. Also you can use modern diesel engines witch give you more torque for the same hp than gasoline engines while being more economical, you are way less limited in your choice of srews since you can fit a wieder variety of diameters instead of just changing pitch and blade count..... and that is just what comes to mind right now. What are the advantages of outboard engines? First of all the boatyard does not have to give all considerations necessary to produce a good efficent inboard engine, any thought. They just have to incorporate a reinforced transom in there design and that's roughly it. Way easier and cheaper in design and production. Main benefit for the owner? Everyone can see how much money you wasted on reaching your desired hp..... of witch you instantly waste a two digit percentage to the laws of hydrodynamics and friction in way gearboxes that one would ever want... but he.... you're rich and everyone can see it. And I guess that's all these boats are about in the end....
