In this episode of Speed Daemons, we explore how Miami's natural environment and complex history led to its love affair with speedboats.
We met with the racers, manufactures, and stuntmen who are the center of Miami's speedboat obsession. Our host manages to get to the heart of the story but loses his shirt in the process.

I never made the connection until now but this is exactly the same as Nacar and moonshine running
What’s Nacar?
Let me guess. As soon as you read the title in your recommended, it clicked .
Perhaps not a surprise that many NASCAR drivers and team owners live on Lake Norman, NC, minutes from where most of teams are based. And that offshore boats powered by the fruit of their engine shops that you can hear long before you see are a common sight there. 🙂
Nascar yes, moonshining no. Smuggling has been around before moonshining.

Most of my adult boating is in Northeastern lakes, cigarette boats just aren't that big here. The season is like 3 months long and you can't really go that fast for that far so it doesn't make sense. Besides the basic lake boats and pontoons, bass boats are probably the next most popular.

I had a dream once that a buddy of mine bought a boat in Miami, so we flew their from L.A to take it to Mexico's gulf coast. Then that dream became a nightmare when we ran out of gas, beer, and coke. Thankfully i woke up right after that. True story
True story that you had a dream? What even was the point of that
@@henrylivingstone2800 he has to let us know that the dream did in fact happen
@@JudgeHoldenTudix Yeh but the implication of saying “true story” is that usually it’s used after telling a story that might cast doubt on its truth due to the relatively outlandish nature associated with the story itself. Like telling people you caught a shark with a toothpick and a shoelace while on a date with a supermodel, the story is so outlandish but not outside the realm of possibilities so one would follow the telling of the story with “true story” to indicate that it indeed happened. But with a dream the same rule doesn’t apply because anything is plausible within a dream, so the “true story” isn’t applicable because it isn’t a true story unless the OP is referring to the fact that the dream happened then he wouldn’t have had to say “true story” because the nature of dreams as being unabated by the constraints of reality and it is implied anything and everything is possible.

@@user-ej2wr5bg2v It didn’t bother me but what’s the point of saying “true story” when referring to something that is inherently fictional, what is the expression referring to the dream or the fact that you had a dream.
