I am a 32 year old black woman with 4 kids. And I listen to this whole sou Soundtrack in my car alone sometimes. Brings back childhood memories. Literally the best soundtrack ever
Expose your kids to this masterpiece ik thats what ima do when that time comes
youre a legend
Same here
Yeah! I'm not the only one then...
Your race is a non-factor here just enjoy🤷♂️
25 Years and this is still my favorite soundtrack, favorite sequel, favorite video game of all time. Nothing will ever top DKC2!
I appreciate this nostalgia aswell, shit's deep lol. Kinda drunk just listening to forest interlude. 👌🏼😭💖
25 years and still the best The gold standard for side scrolling platforming The greatest ever!
I'm from Brazil, 31 years, i Love dc 2 Nintendo snes.
Nothing can top the best video game of all time
For me was super Mario 3 on Nintendo, then donkey, etc.....Didn't like the earlier work stuff. Except sonic the hedgehog on saga :) x saying that not long after street fighter was getting vamped, Oooooh yeah! Enter Ryu ......
SNES era gave us the best soundtrack of our childhood.
Yeah. So many awesome soundtracks from the 16-bit era. :-)
I couldn't agree more! I JUST said this very thing to my husband two seconds ago. Hahha.
Indeed, though some like NES, Genesis, and N64 are close.
Stickerbrush Symphony just hits different. I used to go into the secret menu to play the music, and this is one I would leave on when studying or cleaning my room. It just made my brain happy. Same with Forest Interlude.
Everyone talks about Stickerbrush Symphony yet no one talks about the absolute banger before- Snakey Chantey
Yea that songs is hype, make me feel like Ricky Ricardo in a big band concert.

24:39 Stickerbrush Symphony after all these years still my favorite
The best song
No doubt it's beautiful but lockjaws saga always my favorite 😊
I can still see my little brother playing with an unplugged controler.
36:41 forest interlude, the best😍😍😍✨
Its sooo underrated
Stickerbrush Symphony ... the best!
*10000%!!*
That's exactly what I came here for
This whole OST is musically impressive. Such great compositions. We could not even realize that as children playing a game. We only knew it sounded so damn good.
15:20 Mining Melancholy Love this track 😍
Dude that’s the track!
Best track of DKC2
Even the name is delightful
Best for me
My personal favorite.
Mining Melancholy is my favorite.
YEEEP
6:16 you have no idea how emotional and happy I become when I hear this melody. My entire childhood and happiness in this game. Simply beautiful.
This is My favorite game Ever it's just absolute perfection all the way across the board Especially all the music it gets me teared up just amazing!!!!
I looked for this song just to remember That this game was my mother's favorite and she died. She played this game for hours and hours and today she just missed it and I play this game because of her
Me too.....me too
Same here totally.
I get a little shiver me timbers
I literally cried at Stickerbrush Symphony man .. I wanna be a kid again
Tbh, being an adult is definitely more tiring but the depth of the feelings I get as an adult is far greater. It's kinda wild just how much listening to this old music highlights that for me.
Forest Interlude Masterpiece!
for me the best, has a nostalgic deeper power, and the harmonic its almost cry
I can’t agree more. I remember it's name is Enchanted Forest... Maybe it's the difference between UK and US version?
yeah !
For me, it literally is the best SNES related song, ever. It's this perfect package of nostalgia and melancholy to me.
The best ❤
I can't put into words how much Forest Interlude means to me.
I feel the same way but with stickerbrush symphony
i 100% get that
24:40 stickerbrush symphony
Its amazing aint it? How it can bring so much memory and meaning. Its fascinating
@@obiwan7191Very much so. It low-key feels a little bit deeper than just "nostalgia", but I can't for the life of me put words on why, but it's super fascinating.
Stickerbrush symphony always make me cry 🥺
Same 😭
lol why?
@@tylerrumfelt3353if you’ve ever heard of the “internet checkpoint” then you’ll understand why
some 20 years later, forest interlude is still fire.
Just bought this game again, my grandma had the SNES at her place and I used to play it all the time when I was visiting her but she lost the cartridge. I am playing it right now and I must admit this is one of the best videogame I've ever played. This is going to be an epic journey!!
Perfect for celebrating donkey kongs big 40th anniversary!

Wow. You used to be a gamergirl? That is definitely rare, no pun intended.
Is this literally just the best game soundstrack ever? Even good soundtracks have weak points here and there... Not this one! Just killer track after killer track. My god what a pleasure!
Ikr. It's so consistent
It is indeed the best on the SNES that's for sure!
i don´t like the first theme Klomp Romp all the others are either very good or masterpieces
It is one of the best of all time.
ever heard of Chronotrigger?
25:00 Stickerbrush Symphony the best!

No forest interlude the best
it's actually Stickerbush
@@JesusDaLawd i used to like Stickerbrush the most but then switched my favorite song to Forest Interlude. I think it just has more cool nuances in it.
@@Brando550 Exactly my brother same same brooo
The 90s was the golden age of platform gaming.
Mining Melancholy is so fucking underrated, from the verse and the "humming" chorus out of nowhere... I love it
It's sooooo good, man. I agree! It's just so pleasing to the ears.
This game is finally coming to the switch, lets goooo
its finally HERE
i cant find it anywhere in the marketplace
It’s on switch online bro 👀

gooood looks... feelin stupid. thank you both.
I'm just 21 years old, those games are not from my time, but when I was 8-9 my father downloaded the Snes9x, Stella Atari 2600 and Dgen Mega Drive emulators, and we could revive together his kid/teen days. I'm proud to say that a little part of my father's childhood, was passed to mine. Those were magical days.
I wonder what happened to the SNES he played the games on?
Your dad must have had you pretty young for these games to be his childhood, right? I'm 21 as well and my 28 yo brother grew up with the SNES himself (so did I, by proxy of his hand-me-downs).
@@Sagaan42 Huh, good point. I just turned 22 myself and my father was 20 when this game came out (he never had a Nintendo, though). I think my father didn't get a machine he could play games on until he was around 15, so that the games he introduced me to when I was young (Lemmings, for example) aren't the oldest is not so surprising.
@@607 that's cool. I kinda take it for granted nowadays that people play games from the time they learn to move their fingers and think. It didn't use to be that way. Never had a family member who liked games and was introduced to them after childhood, though.
coolest dad ever
Favorite game of all time I just beat it again recently. This game also reminds me of my first crush ever. Throw back to first grade in Ms. Goldberg class 1998. My crushes name was Danielle. She had asked me if I had the guide book to to DKC 2 and I sure did. I brought it with me to school the next day. Got my first kiss for doing that. I swear I got the memory of an elephant. I can not believe I’m actually sharing this story on here.
It must've been a great memory.
I am a 19 year brazilian guy this soundtrack reminds me my late aunt, they are good memories
Meus pêsames mano
Forest Interlude and Mining Melancholy are my guilty pleasures. Of course, Stickerbush Symphony is a timeless masterpiece.
guilty???? absolute gems.
36:40 Forest Interlude so nostalgic melody, and deeper the most strong melody of dkc2 for me, had a lost of feelings
I agree. I always loved this one the most. I wonder if anyone has remixed it yet. ✌
It's just so mesmerizing and it gives you that sense of deep thinking.

8:22 LOCKJAW'S SAGA IS SO GOOD!!!!
Ya it's my favorite out of all songs
I always get flashbacks of that Lockjaw lunging at me, the song is as intense as that feeling of terror!
No game has a soundtrack as good as this one nowadays
Can't help the tears. Many years later I found another favourite: In a Snow-Bound Land. It makes me travel soooo far...
SNOW-BOUND LAND!!!
Bayou Boogie is so underrated it's criminal. That phat bass line is just so sick.
The first game's soundtrack was great, but this one is legendary. This is also happens to be the only one where David Wise composed the entire soundtrack.
THANKS DAVID WISE!!!!
32:13 kid me was in a PANIC when this theme started playing out of nowhere!! It's a well done transition lol
David Wise is probably my favorite composer, the fact that he was doing music this good back on the SNES is insane. Some of these songs are just really emotional for me and this is a game about monkeys jumping and collecting bananas. Also, Snowbound Land is underrated for sure
emotional you say, everytime i hear the ending im almost crying of nostalgia
His work on this game and the other games he worked on is incredible
it is crazy, this is a game as you say about some monkeys but yet the music of this genius give it such a high emotional value.
Our childhoods may have not been perfect but this game definitely brought good times, laughs, and happy smiles on our faces. It’s crazy how music can throw us back to a time where things were so simple. My dad introduced Donkey Kong to me, and I’ve been wanting to replay the games with him while I have the time to do it.
Strickerbrush symphony!!!!!! 🙌
Every couple months I come here and let this masterpiece play.. I smile I laugh I cry and wouldn’t have it any other way 🙌🏽
The nostalgia just hits. Better times, simpler times. Great times.
if this isnt played at my funeral im not going
Hell yeah! Forest Interlude is sooo good and lots of other heavy hitters!
Forest Interlude, Stickerbrush Symphony and In Snow-Bound land my favorite ones ❤
Add Mining Melancholy and Hot-Head Bop and i'm game.
Insuperável!! É um mix de recordação essa playlist. É sexta-feira, é locadora, é primo, é casa cheia, é domingo em família, é infância, enfim é uma geração.
Que definição monstra, meu amigo. 👏

@@scoobydoo529 yeah I did a bit after writing this comment, truly a masterpiece of platformers. Same applies for the first Country game.
I'm 24 now, still young, but I remember perfectly this soundtrack. I was in my room, trying again and again, this game was hard and I was a baby. Begging my dad to help me, I wish I could still ask him for help. This song is probably the only thing in the world that can rip me apart in less than a second, it's insane.
6:15 always loved this. Such a hopeful tune
The guys who made this soundrack and the Sonic 2 soundrack are amazing at painting pictures through music.
Bayou boogie is literally the best one on here next to hot head and mining melancholy
It's genius to put sound effects IN the Music itself, making the whole Level more alive and imersive. Specialy in Hot-Head Bop or Mining Melancholy
The mind blowing part is that they managed to do all of it on 128kB of RAM.
Holy crap didn’t even see this comment and literally just made the exact same point haha
A lot of these tracks are just really really good ambient techno/IDM tracks. Mining Melancholy just sounds like an Autechre track. Incredible that he made this with a fucking Super Nintendo
This is my jam right here 12:47. When that section of Hot-Head Bop comes in, it's perfect.
Love that part too
The sound of wind and water made the ship levels really immersive
The soundtrack of a simpler time. A better time.
I'm 34 and listening to it cause it brings childhood memories
Jumping in to tell anyone that reads to play Tropical Freeze on Switch if you haven’t yet! It’s AWESOME and David Wise makes a triumphant return as the composer and as I’m sure you can imagine the soundtrack is SICK
The music and gameplay of Tropical Freeze makes it a worthy successor to DKC 2. Even though I do think Tropical Freeze's flaw make it worse than DKC 2, it's still an incredible game like every other game in the DKC franchise.
This OST has absolutely NO RIGHT to be this good.
Mais alguém do Brasil que ama essa obra de arte ? 🇧🇷❤️

Stickerbrush Symphony Forest interlude And in a snow bound land were always my favorite
24:39 A Very rich masterpiece
Ah Yes, one of the best game songs and at the same time one of the most commonly mispelled song: Stickerbush Symphony.
Hey this isn't country music at all!
It is Kong-quest music!
If you mean that this doesn't sound like western music is because country not only means Western Music Or that doesn't sound like the Donkey Kong Country 1 music is necause this is about pirates
Yeah- it's Kremling pirate music!
nahaaa i heard somewhere this original music they use to play on the wild west!
Nope, only v.g. music here
10:17 IT'S THAT DAMN SWORD!!!
How did they make such good music and childhoods at the same time, literally mind-blowing
As a kid, booting this game up always gave me a sense of immersion I never got from any other game. The visuals and the music both go together so well. The nostalgia I get from just the music and the image on this video is insane lol
Stickerbrush Symphony masterpiece
The entire soundtrack screams SNES 1995. It’s awesome, reliving my childhood. Runners up: Forest Interlude In a Snow-Bound Land 🥉Hot Head Bop 🥈 Mining Melancholy 🥇 Stickerbrush Symphony
I love all the songs, but I think the ‘StickerBrush Symphony’ is like the absolute best, oh, those are the days in the mid 90s 🤩🤩🤩
I am 37 year old, white man from Spain, this game is my childhood. It is pure nostalgia and this music makes me travel to another world. There are no more games like before, it's pure art.
You know a game is good when even the soundtrack is epic.
24:38 It feels like just yesterday I was sitting in my living room sitting WAYY too close to the TV absolutely stressing out because of all the thorn walls! Such an incredible trip in time. This soundtrack is GOATed.
Stickerbrush Symphony is giving me the chills man... I got it for wii u and maybe i will play the game trough some time, although i can't enjoy the music when I'm stressing the f** out
yes gret song
Donkey Kong Country 2 had the best Themes of all DK games
I’m so grateful to have grown up with virtual console, enabling me to play all these great 90s games when I was a kid. These melodies are planted so deep within my subconscious, i’ll cherish them forever
same for me, when I hear the melodies I travel back in my mind to a 6-10 year old me playing that game, sitting with my sister in our room, tv was placed in an old wooden shelf and below the tv was our lego and nearby some polly pocket and the grey big nintendo game boy. A real 90s childhood
Yes, Stickerbrush Symphony is wonderful, and almost certainly the best song this game has to offer, but lets see some appreciation for Forest Interlude and Crocodile Cacophony. Both bangers in completely different ways.
Just listened to the DKC1 OST before this… Crazy how much DKC2 improved on an already strong soundtrack. Legendary game.
Mining Melancholy continues to hit different
david wise = legend. this is one of the best OSTs of all time!
I played this game back in 1996-1997....I would never imagine that I would be nostalgic about it 26 years afterwards. Gaming back then was extremely fun and fulfilling. Developers really knew the essence of what makes a great game....
Many years has pasted, I still remember mining melancholy.
That Hot Head Hop is my shiii
I was listening to the vid in the background, and came to check what the track was. Hot Head Hop is indeed a jam
Seeing you hear is a pleasant surprise :)
