Donkey kong 3 is underated
it's my favorite... so I get what you mean... it's like nobody likes it and it makes no sense at all.
Solid title if it was any other platformer. Following up DKC and DKC2 tho, it fell way short from what those two were able to produce and put out. It felt like a tacked on game, and with the release the N64, almost a situation of to little to late kinda thing. i had a blast doing the game, but if you put in the trilogy with the other two, this is by far the weakest of the bunch...but thats the same thing as saying that between a Viper, Corvette and a Mustang, the Mustang is the worse of the bunch. Its still a solid car, just compared to the others... Course..not stopping me from listening to the whole thing again...XD
No, it's correctly rated. Good game but not as well designed as the second or groundbreaking as the first.
DKC3 is also.... now on Switch! Also yeah, this game is under-rated. It destroys DKC1 in every way, but isn't as good as DKC2. Still better than Returns. (I don't hate Returns, it's just my 2nd least favorite in the series for the lack of things that were in the older games)
@@magicowlofbacon9416 I agree DKC3 is underrated, but it isn't no way better than the Original DKC or even DKC-R or DKC-TF. DKC3 is good, but is definetely my least favourite all the games, it doesn't have the same feel as the other games especifically counting the fact that DK himself is not the the game (at least not fully in it), why replace him with Kid Kong? I never understood that, you simply can't have Donkey Kong Country without Donkey Kong Himself.
This game was a masterpiece, pushed the hardware limitations of the SNES to its max.
+Imy Manz All this without extra hardware like many of the later snes titles! (ie: Yoshi's Island)
i thought this was a later title
It is cause the n64 just came out

Man. The memories. I was 7 years old when this came out. I remember my grandma surprised me for my birthday with this game. I was over the moon about it. Couldn't believe she got it for me. She's still alive and is gonna be 100 years old in a few months. I remember this game being magic. Kiddy Kong was the best. I was always disappointed he was never in any other games. The water skipping ability was a lot of fun.
Give your granny lots of love

@@SpiralPegasus that sounds fishy but yea i agree
So incredible how after not playing these games for 20+ years, these songs feel so recent and the memories so close. Donkey Kong was pure magic.
My thoughts too! So burned into my memory. And i didnt notice untill i hear it again :P
30 years for me!
32:11 has been playing in my head for the past several days and I couldn't remember if it was from this game or not. What a memorable tune. Oh, the simple, care-free days... how I miss them. The late nights. The sleepovers. The knocks on my door with invitations to hang out with other kids. The days when I actually felt like I had friends. The early Sunday mornings and rainy days walking downstairs from my room while covered in a blanket, with my favourite bowl of cereal in hand, ready to chill out in the basement pretty much until the evening. I still remember the day when my Dad, brother and I drove in the middle of a snow storm to purchase Donkey Kong Country 1 from a local gaming shop, called Giant Video, at the other side of town. Listening to this music reminds me of how grateful I am to have been a 90s kid and for all the wonderful fond memories that came with it. Growing up was tough on its own, but video games (and their respective soundtracks) brought an unparalleled and indescribable sense of blissfulness into my life. I consider myself very fortunate to have been part of such an epic era that many will never understand or have the thrill of experiencing. A cherished time period that encouraged raw human connection, and the discovery of joy in all the little things, before social media and technology completely took over.
A beautiful comment. Thank you.

10:25 I'll never forget that this was my introduction to the Mario 64 castle theme. I only played Mario 64 in bits and pieces as a kid, because I never owned an N64. In my entire life. But the SNES? I played that ALL the way until the GameCube era. I must have been like 5 or 6 when I first heard this music. It's kinda surreal to think. Most of my nostalgia for the Nintendo 64 was because it was so inspiring for everyone. Gmodders in 2010 used Banjo Kazooie music all the time. I remember visiting Lemmy's Land in the 2000's and it'd use Super Mario RPG music. I'd often visit my best friend in order to play Smash 64. It's kinda crazy that I feel nostalgia for the N64 without having owned it. A lot of, like...vicarious nostalgia.
Oh, I never realized that this is the same melody! :o
@@RainbowsaurusGames Yessir! For me, the Princess Castle melody was a reference to the Wrinkly gaming melody. My childhood is very strange.
1:09:23 This track literally changes the entire mood of the game. One moment, you're playing a kiddy game, with silly and goofy looking enemies, and one moment, this track is playing and suddenly you feel like you're fighting for your life. Definitely one of my favorite "OH SHIT!" moments in gaming, when I heard this badass track for the first time.
Chaos design was terrifying as hell. When the "human" head appeared oh my god. Food for nightmares.
@@NicoCueas yeah dkc 3 was the most bizarre and surrealistic of all, thus it was my favourite
41:27 Water World is so moody, it reminds me of something that could from an Amiga-age cyber-punk game. It's just missing some rain ambience and the distant sound of police sirens.

Haha was literally thinking that and then saw your comment. Childhood vibes 100%. Love the upbeat melody
3 doesn't get enough respect. It's my personal favorite, and probably in my top 3 SNES games. I never see anyone say it's bad for sure, but I feel like it was a natural progression and improvement on the DKC formula. The difference between switching between a fast small floaty character and a big strong hard throwing character felt like a huge difference between just being fast or big.
+LaserfaceJones i have to agree. for me DKC 3 is nearly as amazing as "yoshis island". and thats saying something. I cant think of any game on the SNES that was nearly as god as yoshis island, maybe super mario bros 3 but not much more. i love it
+LaserfaceJones I love this game to death. I always remember the Christmas morning when I got this, stayed up waaay too late playing, really love it.This game is still very entertaining and challenging, it looks amazing, and sounds good in its own right.
+LaserfaceJones the music was always what made the game so great to me.
I love it simply for the fact it's one of the final games ever made for SNES before the beginning of the fifth generation of video game consoles. DKC3 very much marks the end of an era.
Its just very bland in comparison to 1 and 2.

Thank you for the upload. Great ambient music. A lot of first experiences with this game. It was one of the first games I completed. About halfway through the game at 9 or 10 years old I ordered the guide from some mail-in pamphlet out of a Nintendo Power magazine, then proceeded to 103% the game. I remember resetting this game so much, dying constantly, running out of continues, grinding for bear coins and bananas. This is probably one of the pivotal games that taught the lessons of patience and hard work as a kid. At least in my case. What a rush of memories.
Nice way to put it, same here. Never give up on something!
Is there a reason this game wasn't included in the Super Nintendo Classic line-up? It's a crime against humanity!
Yes, Nintendo only wanted to include a certain number of games for the system, and surely they would've wanted a diverse selection of classics so people could get a taste of the different experiences one would've had on the SNES. Seeing as they HAD to give the first DKC a spot, due to how massively important it is to the console's history, it wouldn't be the wisest choice to include yet another game that looks and plays so similarly. DKC2, despite being the fan favourite, didn't get a spot for it is not as historically relevant, and DKC3 just never was as beloved as the other two titles, people would've questioned the decision. I think the SNES Classic's collection is ultimately well put together, although I'd like to have a few more games for it, but ah well...
Yeah, it's because people don't have good taste: This game "sucks" yet a 200th clone of CoD is "good"
They saved it for the next cash grab lol

This track reminds me of one of the best memories of my childhood. In the 90s, when my older sister and I were children, we didn't have the money to buy several games. We only played "top gear" because it was the game that came with our snes. My mother worked in a cafeteria in the city center and there was a game store. Every Friday, when my mother left work, she would arrive at the video store for the final minutes to close and always rented a game for us. Thanks for upload it!! :) I like this OST too much
The music box intro instantly brought back awesome memories.
24:04 Mill Fever, awesome!
Fanfare 0:00 0:08 0:09 Tá tá tá tá tá tá Tá! O melhor jogo de todos os tempos e com todas as músicas sensacionais. Nostalgia de infância.
the badass guitar in nuts and bolts is so cool, water world scared me as hell when i was kid
with these songs I recall every moment spent with each course every nook dkc realy nostalgic
Frosty Frolics 29:33 Definitely my favorite by miles. The mix sounds incredibly soothing with the track. Water world 41:27 also has an incredible soul in it.
Cara, que conexão com o passado tive agora. Lembrando de um monte de momentos com esse jogo. Nem parece que vai fazer 10 anos que joguei. Hj tenho 18, mas agora parece que foi ontem. Que sdds 😭
Man, I use to play the DKC games every year! I'm looking forward to my next playthrough...whenever that is...
Aw man that enchanted riverbank....pure magic.
excelente trabajo musical
si tienes razón
Sí, aunque DKC 2 tiene mejores soundtracks en mi opinión :b
im replaying this gem again, a truly masterful game
You are madman if you managed to complete the game it is so difficult
@@mussunmussun3536 i completed it just in 2 or 3 years xD
@@theniski I made it to the last stage too but never made it to the end. I remember the metro part where you are on the cart. I smashed SNES controller quite bit when I was young during that stage
I should try to play the game again when I am now older and have more patience. SNES still run like a new
@@mussunmussun3536 lucky, my SNES broke long time ago
Appreciate the effort greatly! thanks.
Musicas da minha infância!!!
