Thank you for watching: in this video I show you how to brush on paint the brake calipers on any car in the easiest, cleanest and fastest way. I was really impressed with the G2 High Temperature Brake Caliper Paint System Set and highly recommend it. Follow the steps I show you and you will get the same great result.

How is the color holding after a few months?
Ryan Cole holding up well. No issues
Do you know where can i buy this for Europe?
Nope.
Thanks pimp! I love ordering from amazon! And wanted the quality of paint that you had! This will work out awesome!!!!!! Was just talking to a friend about this the other day
Roman, just a tip, you could have used chap stick on the Corvette letters . the paint would not stick to it then after drying you could wipe it off. Worked for me.
So many different videos for spray painting calipers, whether people mask to spray paint in place or they completely remove them to bench paint them. Nice to see someone making a kit to brush paint them. I have 3/4 of a gallon of Fire Engine Red of Tremclad Rust-0-leum rust paint, which is the real oil based paint, before Tremclad switched to "oil technology" paint. I painted the calipers two years ago. Cleaned them with brake cleaner, wire brushed them with a rotary wire brush on a drill, cleaned with brake cleaner again and applied paint with two sizes of artist's brushes. The old oil paint, brushes smooth with a good brush, applies thick and levels without any brush strokes. Little to no masking and no over spray issues. Two coats of paint and then top coated with 2X thick exterior polyurethane clear coat. I took one day to paint the front calipers and a second day to do the rear, helping the drying period along with a heat gun. Although the paint and clear coat have no heat ratings, there have been no issues what-so-ever. Two years later and still looking like the day they were painted. After all, they are just calipers and you get a flashing peek at them through the wheel spokes.
Thanks! This gives me so much confidence when my blue paint kit arrives next week.
The BRIGHTNESS of the caliper is what made me remember this video and see it repeatedly and KNOW that I need to come back to this some day.
You need to pay your assistant far more than what you originally negotiated for. Hes INVALUABLE!!! :)
Dude that looks great! When I came across this video about brushing the paint on never thought it would work. Looks great!
Wow finally an honest straight up easy to watch video, thanks brother
I was thinking the same thing!! All the others are way too technical for a simple job. Lol
I was dreading taking out the calipers to paint it this is sooooo helpful thanks a bunch mate
Damn, that looks nice. I am going to do a brake job-I think I'll paint them while they are swung up. Well done!
Did mine with the same paint, same color almost 2 years ago, and they still look great!
What color is it? I'm trying to find what hawkins blue looks like in the real world.
Thanks for sharing this way easier method than most others. Best Regards.
This is exactly the video I was looking for. Keeping it simple but looking great. Thanks
I was thinking the same, nice and simple.
This actually looks better than all the other videos that spray painted.
Fax
That Corvete it's just amazing 😁
This paint is awesome. I did mine 10 years ago in red and still no flaking or dulling.
Did you bake?
Redd Brown Nope. Just brush painted on after prep. Followed directions exactly.
@@TheOfficialSheriffBrown after a couple miles you already baked them in
Well damn, I just bought a regular spray paint kit and now I see this video!? I may end up regretting it! This is badass. 👍🏻👍🏻
i bought this set after watching your video. Great job. looking forward to the weather improving so i can get on with it!! got some brake caliper decals too
Thanks man, that's what I needed. I thought about doing spray, but it look a bit complicated to do that. With this link you provided for the color, and what you showed, look a lot easier to deal with. SO, I'm going to try this out instead. Thanks again for showing a bit of tutorial on this.
You definitely had some good help taking the wheels off, too cute 😅
Haha ikr, thanks! 😁
This is exactly what I wanted to do on my older Dodge RAM pickup. Looks nice without all the mess of spraying. Excellent job! Aloha. =)
Turned out really well! I was hoping you were going to hit the letters with a white paint and then clear and dry, but I’m really impressed with the color and ease with which you were able to change colors! I have red calipers, but I’d think I’d prefer blue as well! Great job! Thanks
When I painted mine I pulled the caliper off the brackets no paint on the pads. I changed the pads while. It was disconnected. Before the paint cured I took a q-tip dipped in paint thinner and cleaned off the lettering. You and also use nail polish remover if it has not cured out.
That makes a huge difference.. I wish I could do that on mine with wide open 5 star rims. Looks so nice
Thanks for the great vid. I have a blue truck and bought the blue G2 to go under my black wheels. I was not sure if there would be enough from reviews where i bought the paint from so again thanks for the vid and the confidence i will have enough paint to get the job done... great looking corvette too ...
Nice job looks pretty straight forward and like you said it's not messy.
Just ordered some for mine in black, thank you for the heads up!
Looks amazing. Big Corvette Fan here from the UK.
It seems to be very easy to do, so it will be helpful. Thanks for uploading the video!
Great job. Thanks for this. Given me confidence to paint mine over here in the UK.
Need to do ours soon 😂🚗🇬🇧
Nice video. It's really pretty easy to take off the calipers and rotors (just 2 bolts), then just put the calipers back on lightly with the bolts and paint them with no worries of the pads (I think it's kind of goofy to paint the pads...my opinion) and no worries of painting the rotors. Literally it's just two bolts and you can remove the calipers and rotors.
Thanks! I'll be trying this project on my RX8 this weekend. Ironically I bought blue paint too. (Offsets my silver car)
I’ve just watched 2 calliper painting vids, neither painter turned the steering wheel to improve front access
😂
He really needed to improve that front acsess 😮😮😮 😂😂😂
They’re practicing for the back where they can’t turn wheel for better access lol
Good video, thank you for making it and helping us all out so we can see how easy it is to do!
I bought the same paint kit awhile go but didn’t get around to doing it. Now that I’m dying of boredom with this quarantine, I’ve got something to do, great video!
Fearless Ghost same here. I bought the same kit one year ago. It has 24 month shelf life so I better start this project.
I used this Kit and It worked great. Highly recommend. I took mine all apart to clean and paint.
@Sica Rug I did this job on my 350Z. It got new rotors, pads, SS brake lines... So, painted the calipers this same blue.Took them all apart, and about half the day with the wire wheel, WD40, and 2 cans of brake cleaner, etc. They looked so nice, I almost did not paint them. LOL.
@Sica Rug Well, I just painted them a few days ago, and put maybe 100 miles on them. I don't know for sure, how long it will hold up... but I think it is going to be good. The two part paint, went on really nice. Seems like the correct product to do this job. The brush they give you worked fine. I like this better than spray paint... with no additive. I think it is a kick ass system. I put on new rotors, pads, brake lines, HT fluid, pretty happy with it all. I've been shopping for brake kits too. Unless you spend the big dollars, I think this is a good way to go.
@Joe Bidens Leg Hair I guess the issue with painting the back of the pads is the heat?
SHARP!!! LIKE THAT BLUE ON THE BLACK
Clean and simple thanks for the video.
I used (red) engine paint for my calipers. I painted it on (2 coats) with art brush similar to the one used in the video. It does not dry too quickly, so leaves a nice smooth finish. It looks great and has lasted very well.
Going to try it this weekend
I purchased this about two months ago seen your video just can’t wait to do it now
I am inspired by this video now!
Great job and easy also. I noticed that you buffed the inside of your rotors to remove the rust that builds up. Put rust oxidizer on them. It will turn them flat black and they will not rust again.
Fantastic job , will look into that paint..thanks and the corvette is crazy cool .
G2 caliper paint is awesome. Also excellent customer service from G2 when I contacted them once. Do proper prep and it’s very easy to paint. Once I go around and do the first coat for all for brakes, I can immediately start again for second and third and maybe forth coat on 1-2 brakes until I use up the small can. It usually only chips if you drive on gravel roads. Very durable and very easy to apply after prep (cleaning).
This is good method!!! painting like this with the brush, not with spray! Cause with spray you can spread paint everywhere! Well done! Thank you for sharing
PA KZheadrs in the house! Cool kit. I am researching now to do mine. Thanks for the info. Post a follow up to let us know how its holding up!
How has it held up?
This was simple i like how you painted the front and back. I havent seen a video where anyone takes the caliper off and paint it. Nice...
This looks brilliant I put some break caliper covers made of plastic 😱 big reget... so now waching this video I going to paint mine ..what you don is a brilliant job 👍🇬🇧
@LactoseTheIntolerant I got my calipers painted and did what you advised on video I really pleased with them thanks for the advice will keep waching 👍🇬🇧
so cute lil man helping u out
I used this paint system on one of my cars last year. I put white stickers over the same blue paint you used. They still looked perfect after a whole year, and the white stickers still looked bright white as well. This is an awesome paint system. I did this on an Audi A8, and before I painted I did a little sanding on my calipers to smooth some coarse casting edges. Just something to think about depending on how the factory finish is on your cars calipers. Just that modification got me a lot of compliments and people asking me if that was a factory option on the car.
The blue looks great next to the black. Lovely car.
Great apprentice, he knows what he's doing.
Nice, bro! Blue looks great.
Looks great man... months later, how has the paint held up? Thanks!
Hi Roman, nice job! I would definitely take caliper out and put a bag on the rest to prevent paint where not necessary and some tape on the rubber parts of the caliper
I’ve used this G2system to recently paint the calipers on my Pontiac Solstice! It was amazingly easy and I’m 75 , arthritic, have had three shoulder surgeries and three back surgeries! Seriously I wasn’t sure about removing and reinstalling the tires but it wasn’t that bad and the calipers look great! Ps. It’s up to $79 now.
Nice video, thanks for posting it. I f I was doing it I would not have painted the brake pads, and I would have masked off the Corvette lettering, painting that white or black.
Cool project, nice . Way to go PA , from Jersey
Looks good man. I just ordered mine not from the same brand but got another one coming in this week but I’ll be painting mine red
OOOO YOU BOUT TO ADD AT LEAST 50 HP WITH RED CALIPERS
Vaan Ravishankar FYI it’s just for looks you imbecile 🤦🏽♂️
D McKerry woooooosh, flew right over your head
D Mac Attack ur so rude hes clearly joking u ‘imbecile’
Supporting your channel @Z-speed!
Z-speed thank you!
Z-speed subbed
That blue is niiiiiiice!!!
Dude, that looked sick…! Good luck..
Hi, I see this video from 2019, can you please post a pic how that paint held up over time? Also, I think, it would be very beneficial to take caliper and bracket off. 4 screws, 5-10 minutes but that would allow you much better chance to clean and prep.
Looks really sharp on that car with those wheels.
awesome! you so Idea very smartest....i got it thank you so much. i learn now
Bro looks good I got the same car and blue is what color I like thanks for the info
Definately the best method. Looks Great ! I saw you had help though, good thing he was there for you, huh ?🤣 Good instructional, man ! Thanks ! Wulfy
Now that it’s a year later, does it still look good? I’m thinking of doing the same, unsure on how I want to go about it. That didn’t look bad at all as far as technique.
Awesome!!!!! Cant wait to get on this
Outstanding video brother!!!
Sgt P thank you brother!
Thank you for leaving the link
Thank you. Great video.
Looks good! I need the red version for my Audi S5 calipers! 🔥🔥🔥
They look great! 👍👍👍
TOP MARKS MATE 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for the video,it was helpful. What did you use to paint the emblems etc blue?
It looks pretty good 👍🏿
Great video man, thank you
Looks awesome.
Beautiful. Thanks
Very nice job. If you sand down the corvette lettering, can you apply a clear coat to keep the lettering bright? 👍🇬🇧
It looks cool in blue.
Lucas Martínez Parra thanks bro
@@romagrigorenko You're welcome. What's your next car project?
Lucas Martínez Parra not sure yet. Might share a bmw build my cousin is doing but as for me, I’ll probably enjoy this car until spring comes and will go from there. Can’t really afford more interesting builds at the moment tbh
@@romagrigorenko Alright.
Good job Bro!
Big Roman just looked at your video. I love to see how SUPER DUPER your brake calipers looks in BLUE! Plus you're totally right, there's better "Handtrol" using the paint brush. I'm going to try that with my old 2001 Pt. Cruiser.
Congrats on the douchiness
Thanks for the video !
Can I do this without using a brake cleaner spray? Or there is a good substitute for this?
Did u sand your calipers down jw, I'm thinking about doing these ones that I have not installed on my car, new set of calipers I watch a bunch of vidz on this but I agree great hands on video instructions I just dont know what color I have 22" KMC prizm black with infenty lip great set of wheels , but something that will look sick on it thanks again
Much better than spraying! Less messy...
Way better than spraypainting .Good job sir !
Spray cans suck, I'm tired of crappy nozzles. I'll bust em open and put it in a small detail gun because the finish is so much better for the parts that need that kinda detail. Cheap 35$ husky detail gun does wonders.
Damm..that's looks good bro...very nice..
I'm just in the beginning stages of doing mine on the Audi A6. I painted the center of the rotors first.
Thanks! After watching this, I just ordered the same kit!
Dang that was super nice !!!
great video and awesome car!
looks nice and easy.. how is the painting holding up ??
Best video I’ve seen
Looks great !
Looks great 👍
Great helper. Future Corvette owner.
You should paint the Corvette in black. Great job. I should do this myself, but here in LA, is over 100 F almost every day.
Tibor Makai the corvette is already black tho.. haha Thanks and it should be cooling down in LA soon right?
@@romagrigorenko I was referring to the caliper Corvette logo.
I like simple !!! very nice !!!
