I from the UK and have been settled with family in Malaysia for years. Going back to London is now about seeing family and enjoying some cooler weather and that's about it. I appreciate not everyone has the luxury of choice, but I worked hard in younger years and now have more choice over where to live. The UK just isn't worth the amount you need to pay into the system in order to sustain a decent quality of life.

I left the UK at the right time in 2001 at the age of 21 to go work overseas and make a better life for myself, best decision i ever made.. I moved too the USA for 6 years then to the Middle East, Kuwait, Qatar and now Egypt the past 14 years.

Especially, since England & Wales voted for the UK to leave the EU. I live in the EU but still feel caged as being a Brit I can't move freely throughout the rest of the EU for longer than 90 days. Thanks England!

Spot on. The UK needs to understand that people do not want to live to work!! They need to build roads, high speed railways, millions of houses, train more and more doctors and nurses, build more and more hospitals, schools, clean their country up, spread their population out so there's no high density living, reduce their sky high crime rates and lots more besides... I left the UK, I can only see it getting worse.
High density living isn't in itself bad. In the UK, it's a necessity, because there isn't enough land for low density living, farming, and nature at the same time. Nature is suffering enough already, and farming here is already basically a joke. High density living can be done in tall towers with large flats inside, or tall towers with small flats (which is the case in British city centres), or tiny houses on the ground (outer London). The big flats in tall towers is the best option. The other options are a result of an unfair housing market.

We wouldn’t need any of that if we weren’t suffering from mass immigration putting millions of people into the nation who don’t assimilate and who are a giant strain on the infrastructure and social fabric.
One of the issues we have and so many people , including Muslims want to live in uk , because it’s generally easier to live in , has a democracy, things generally run better , you have better human rights and provides freedom and opportunities if you want to have a family 😂

You can't simply rock up in south east Asia. Malaysia is relatively easy but you'll need to be rich in order to put down a large deposit and you'll need to prove a large, guaranteed, monthly income as well as taking out health insurances. Anyone who can do that will have a very good standard of like in the UK.
You are blessed with money so you could afford to move. Most of us cannot afford this luxury. Good luck in your endeavours.

Jazakallahu khairan sister for appreciating my country. As a born Muslims here, we are not perfect but Alhamdulillah we still be able to have Islamic Education & pratice Islam freely and always try to improvise our quality of life as a Muslim.
Muslims can do everything in Europeans countries while Christians can not do anything in Islamic coutries.
I grew up in Kuwait where its always sunny, there's less cruelty amongst people like you said and everything that's enjoyable is affordable and bears value. I moved to the UK thinking that life is better here but the points you highlighted are exactly what I've been thinking since I moved here. The UK is overrated and its a terrible environment for preserving a child's innocence through their childhood
When my son was 4 years old, he said “mummy, i want to marry” i was shocked. Apparently he was taught at school about marriage, that “man can marry woman, man can marry man, woman can marry woman”. Bruhhh they are freaking FOUR years old, why talk about marriage??? Right now he’s 9 and if i ask him if he fancies anyone he’d say “mum, i’m not 25 years old yet!!” 🤣 because i told him you can only start talking about marriage at 25 😂😂
I actually am safer in uk than when I lived in a south east asian country for 13 yrs.. I was physically abused and they were soo rough and slapped faces all the time even kids faces they hit kids with sticks and slapped faces at the international school I worked in.. my kids have trauma from that place.. I was very lonely and left out being a uk revert there. i came back to uk after 13 yrs and feel soo much safer and more respected here as a muslim woman.. in the south east asian muslim country western women were looked on more as an object and many other women also.. I have soo kind and good friends here who are muslim and non muslim.. I was guilty at always looking down on uk but at least kids are more protected here and women.. I feel safer here and my kids cant be slapped or hit with sticks at school here if they have learning difficulties. i was a teacher at an international school in muslim south east asian country for 13 yrs 😢 i am being truthful 🌸

I have never seen that in my area and uk time since ai was a child ..

I’m surprised international schools would allow such treatment, where rich kids go to. I went to gov school and never had this, but generally corporal punishment is accepted by the culture, e.g teens caught smoking in school, get caned. Generally slapping the face is a big no for muslim, never touch the face area for punishment, but yes some teachers go overboard which is rare. But I’m very surprised this happens in international schools😲 i also understand you being native to the UK feel more comfortable in the UK. My husband & kids are british, i dont think my kids would survive the local asian school, the syllabus are very intense and the environment very competitive, parents send their kids to afterschool tuition until 10pm is a norm, it’s crazy. My kids will go to the international school there
@@cececonnie5509Can't be Malaysia. Government school doesn't even allow you to touch kids even in 2006. They also won't allow the teachers to punish teenagers by standing under the sun. In fact, having assembly under the sun is also forbidden due to increasingly litigious parents. And if we are talking about international schools? There's simply no discussion, you're getting served right there and then for touching the kids' skin, no matter how lightly. No such thing as letting it happen for 13 years, even just a month is already bankrupting the school. The treatment of women as she described also feels foreign to Malaysian culture. You can't treat women badly here in public, EVERYONE will interfere. As a non-hijabi malay here, too, i know better of the treatment of Malaysian muslims to anyone who doesn't cover up (since this lady infers being muslim plays very big part of maltreatment of women). Spoiler alert, they can't and won't do a thing outside of government building (due to dress code), even when you live in their neighbourhood. Like, why would they? Malaysia is used to all kinds of people, and most families are matriarchal, so women by default gets better protection and respect here. From mundane things like addressing you as sis even in shopping apps chat, to commiting crimes in favour of the women (for example, honour killing culture was never practiced in Malaysia. In fact, it's the guy who dishonoured the lady who often gets snuffed here. Look at Along Spoon case, Bakarudin Busu case (instead of being angry at the stripper for getting involved with the guy, the bf decided to kill her client), the bomb case (husband learned to bomb from KZhead to help his wife to end the guy who dumped her, all the while being married during the affair), the recent case where a guy gets snuffed out and buried by siblings for threatening to leak their sister's nudes. It's the mentality here to protect and respect women no matter what they do, instead of treating them like a piece of meat in general. Since Brunei doesn‘t allow cross dressing in public, only 2 countries possible here, and i find it hard to relate it to the reality here in Malaysia.

Only secular people hate Arabs, because hating Arabs came from Islamophobia created by Ataturk. You said your friend was in Istanbul? Different parts of Istanbul are religious or secular. Some parts are very friendly to Arabs, other are very hostile.

I just joined your channel and i must say its always a joy to find a like minded woman. Moved from Australia last year and its such a great country. Im glad you are able to afford to buy your own place because that is a game changer. I must say, as good as the people are, my experience as a black person has been slightly different. Although ive had one man yell at me for no good reason, ive mostly been ignored by shopkeepers and others i tried to interact with even though i said salaam. I dont think they like people of my color which is a brainwashing because Africa is an entire continent and to judge people for the sake of some stories coming from US media is sad. Other than that everything else is great. I do miss my mom and sisters and might be leaving to join them in Africa in the near future.

You hit on some very good points there. You explained very clearly your reasons and I wish you continued success and happiness for you and your family. The UK is largely a class system, so if one isn't in the upper class bracket, then life will always get more difficult. However, the majority of the people living in the UK are well below that level, which means their financial and housing situations are precarious and subject to exploitation by those who have more economic and political influence. I've never been to Malaysia, although I would like to visit one day. I'm sure it has its problems too, but from what I can see, they are nothing compared to the UK. Only the very poor in Malaysia might be in dire straits, although I imagine they would get much more support from family, community and government. Subscribed!
Life in the U.K. was MUCH better before mass immigration when we had a homogeneous culture and people. We used to leave our doors unlocked as stealing and crime was so rare.

this was super helpful coming from someone who is also seriously considering moving out of the UK and trying to come up with a game plan as these things do not happen overnight. I think we all have different experiences and I am glad u are happy .. I am a revert from uk and went to live in a south east asian country for 13 years and I still have trauma from it.. I was treated really badly and physically hurt.. I came back to the uk after 13 yrs of misery and feel safer here as a muslim woman to be honest .. in the UK i feel safer and have less strictness forced onto me here .. this is my honest experience as a muslim uk revert 😊🌸no country is perfect and has its positive and negatives and I have friends of all faiths and also felt many times quite rejected and lonely as a muslim woman .. I think lots of english women here in uk have feminine energy one of my best friends is english and not muslim but is the kindest most humble person I know 😊🌸🙏🏻 my daughter was also traumatised in muslim boarding school when we lived there and so not all muslims have good experiences in eastern countries 😊🌸🙏🏻🦋 i think the west is looked down upon and I was guilty of that then after my experiences in south east asia I realised there is soo much good also in the west and every country has positives and negatives and if we put down western women its from ego and I have learnt this as I was guilty of it thats why I am more a spiritual Muslim

@@roops2939 Look what Muhammad did to Aisha. Even Zakir Naik and other Muslim scholars admit what happened. He was in his 50s, married her at 6, consummated the marriage at 9. He had other wives at the time and Aisha never had children so he didn't do it for fertility. He also said he married her because of a dream. Then there was the fact he was also a conqueror who raided caravans and owned slaves. Not a good guy or a universal figure to look up to.

UK has many free or low cost activities - walks (fields, forests, hills & mountains, parks), beaches, cycling, canoeing, team sports. Although it is less desirable to be outside for most of the year due to cold and dark.

Well said sister. I moved to UK in 2014 up North and it was fairly manageable and fun. However I live in the south now and its mega expensive and you're right about having two jobs to make ends meet. By Allahs mercy embraced Islam 5 years back. It has turned my life around and opened my eyes. I want to move to a Muslim country but can't decide if Malaysia is better or the middle east .
Msia is good for westerner/easterner whether he/she a muslim or not.we live here in harmony n respect each other.that makes msia a strong n attractive country.

I left the UK 18 months ago, to live in Dubai. I'm moving back home to England in June and I cannot wait to go home. The architecture, the availability of fresh local produce, the countryside, the seaside and mostly, the weather!!!... ah, can't wait. The beauty of life is seeing what the world has to offer and living the life you want - as the saying goes... 'move, you're not a tree!' lol.

Most stuck in UK can't move out due to poverty .Either benefits have made them lazy or they are just so poor can't afford moving out .UK is the 5th largest economy .When I see people living in London ,stressed ,grumpy,tired,struggling & I start thinking this 5th largest economy doesn't invest on people,s lives. They deliberately don't build new homes .So I think the system in UK is twisted & in a circle & miserable. There are many looking for a way out .

As for the constitution, you've never read it because it clearly states SECULAR. I think in about 97 and I actually got a taxi from Singapore and went to a market there and bought some dodgy DVDs and a stereo would you believe. @@jettyear3807 That would most likely have been Holiday Plaza on Jalan Dato Sulaiman. It's all but closed down with just a very few shop units occupied and a few stalls selling from the mostly empty floors. The hotel next to it, Holiday Inn closed in 2021 and probably won't reopen. The Pan Pacific in the central area, possibly the best hotel in the city then, closed about the same time. The large hotel in the duty free zone, called Eden Garden back then, is barely occupied and the mall that attaches to it has closed bar a few stalls. The once great Grand Blue Wave close to the causeway has deteriorated to the point you'd have to be truly desperate to consider it. It's filthy and completely run down. Johor is probably the most successful state in the country so this woman has clearly misjudged what Malaysia is really like. I don't think she's dishonest but she is very, very naive. She's also full of hatred for the UK, the country that's allowed her to make enough money to move to Malaysia. This is no longer the cheap country it once was to move to as the deposit requirement and guaranteed monthly overseas income are far more than most can afford. There's not a lot to shop for in Johor Bahru and the immigration delays are horrendous. There are some good new malls but they lack character and many shops only cater for the wealthy which explains why they're usually empty. In contrast, at least the old town has been renovated a bit but caters for the opposite end of the market with many shops selling basic, used clothes. A few kampungs still survive but their days are numbered Back in the period you describe, the murder rate was about one/day but back then it felt safer. Now, there's a real tension and Malays are vocal about their resentment toward other Malaysians. This isn't universal but it's been growing year on year, not helped by a pathetically weak government that increases division but this time turning Malays against each other. I moved out of JB years ago to one of Johor's smaller districts where it's safer and life is just better away from traffic and pollution.
Very true, As a pakistani immigrant and a student in London, it's not worth to give your whole life to build your dream life in uk, specially in London, The cost of 1 BHK flat in London is starting from 300k , and almost 1 3rd of my salary go to taxes, and 1 2nd goes to rent , I'm working 60 hours per week just to survive, save and leave uk as soon as possible.
Then would you be coming back to Pakistan or moving to some other country for work? What nations are people (who are planning to leave uk) currently going towards around you??
