  • I've trained mma for one year, yet no one thaught me to do a double leg as properly as this. Thanks! I've been doing drunk tackles for this whole time

    • crap... me too

      @katkyle8169@katkyle8169 Жыл бұрын
    • me too...on the other hand, going into too much detail is probably useless in mma. you will shoot when the guy is allready out of balance, a "tackle" will do it most of the times

      @Jaburu@Jaburu Жыл бұрын
    • @@Jaburu why would you be comfortable with getting a mediocre takedown on a mediocre grappler just because they are off balance?

      @quinntolchin5727@quinntolchin5727 Жыл бұрын
    • @@quinntolchin5727 because it's another setup. if the guy is in a wrestling stance I rather knee his head. you have to close the distance, so you wait for an oportunity, or you create it. it's just diferent. Just look at John Jones recent fight for an example. His single leg entry is totaly diferent from what you would learn in wrestling

      @Jaburu@Jaburu Жыл бұрын
    • @@Jaburu I think you're missing my point. Being off balance is not "another" setup. Your opponent being off balance is a great setup in all grappling arts including striking arts and mma. My criticism was not of balance, you said: "a 'tackle' will do it most of the times". That is shitty technique and if you face a good wrestler in the cage, you will need good finishing mechanics on your shot if you want to finish. As he will have good defensive reactions even if off balance. I agree with you that the setups are different, i'm talking about finishing mechanics, which are the same once you close the distance in both sports.

  • Staggered stance, triangle foot position, head on the outside. (except for Bulgarian Double) Feign hand movement to the opponents eyes, while his eyes are blinking, change levels while driving forward. No one can keep you out.

  • THANK YOU! I know I belong in kindergarten learning these. It really is tough finding good beginner videos breaking down the simple mechanics nice and slow. A D1 wrestler just going slow is still way too fast for me. I really came here looking for 'shoot walk like a wrestler across the mat' like it's advanced lunges or something so I can get some muscle memory and build upon that. Thank you very very much. When people explain stuff to children and they actually get it, that's my teacher right there. You're A+ 👍
