REAL COST to Maintain a Lamborghini Gallardo at Home! *Price May Shock You*

👋 In today's video I do an at home oil change and cabin air filter change for my 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2. Looking at its CarFax, the last service was done in 2022 around 17,000 miles. However it wasn't specific on what the service was. The current oil color looked pretty clean and was at the correct level, but now that I've driven the Gallardo 1,700 miles over 5 months, I figured I should do a full oil change on the car just to make sure I know the oil condition and get my car on the maintenance schedule I do for all my cars. Changing the oil on the Lamborghini Gallardo is pretty simple. There are 7 drain plugs total. One oil cooler, one oil tank, three drain plugs under the engine, one drain plug in the front of the engine, and one drain plug in between the engine and transmission. Overall looks like 8 quarts came out, and I topped it off adding 8 quarts to get the correct reading. The Gallardo has a dry sump oil system and you need to measure the oil once it's warmed up with the engine off. My reading is just above the middle line. I used the OEM oil filter for the change and this wasn't all too difficult. The cabin air filters were a bit of a pain. Removing some of the fuse boxes and brackets in the passenger foot well. And really bending the old ones to remove. I had to bend the new ones a bit to slide back into place, but I was careful and they straitened out nicely back installed. I doubt the cabin filters have ever been changed in 10 years. So now it's nice to have fresh cabin filters and a fresh oil change! Time to keep racking up the miles in the Gallardo! Maintaining this car isn't really all that much money if you do things yourself. This was about $100 for a good service on the LP550! Everyone said maintaining a Lamborghini Gallardo at home was expensive. Certainly nothing crazy to do routine maintenance on the V10!

  • Now I can be even more thankful for my Honda oil and cabin change. Nice to see though.

  • Very cool that you do your own oil changes on a supercar. When I had my NSX I was too afraid to mess something up.

  • Great video! Question, is there a plug sequence of how you should drain the oil or it doesn't matter? Also, I keep cracking up at seeing all the Audi 4 ring logo on the components.

    • No order from what I've seen. You will just get the most oil out of the first bolts you drain. So I'd say drain the easiest bolts first where you can have your pan under and make the least amount of mess. Yeah sooo many parts are Audi! Funny to see for sure! Even the new swaybar end link I had to order had an Audi logo on it, but it came in a Lamborghini bag!

  • I recently replaced all my fluids in my 2013 LP560. I highly recommend you do the same, everything was very degraded. Especially e gear and front and rear differential/transmission. I changed coolant, front and rear diff, trans, e gear, power steering. They are not lifetime as manual says, Lamborghini considers lifetime as 10 years. Don’t ask why.

    • Oh nice! What all do you need to do for the rear diff and tranmission? I did a break flush already. Havent don't steering or coolant yet

      @BrosFOURRSpeed@BrosFOURRSpeed16 күн бұрын
    • Nice! Yeah “lifetime” is meaningless. Lifetime of what?! The vehicle lifetime? The transmission lifetime?! Mercedes used to say the same thing and ended up in a class action lawsuit.

    • I had my guy do it. He was a Lambo mechanic at the local Lambo dealership but since went independent. Amazing price for everything. Very happy with him. I would do every fluid though, it’s time and you will feel good about your car when it’s done.

  • Not only do you enjoy your blessings, but you work and maintain them. 💯 I'm guessing around $350 for a Gallardo oil change at the Lamborghini dealer. More? Did you see what they were saying at the dealership for a laugh? I'm surprised you had to take all that off for the cabin air filter- Great maintenance Brian! 👌
