  • This is such a great back and forth between Jocko and Echo. I feel like Echo has really been leveling up in his dialogue with Jocko and Jocko has been more accepting in departing from the text to dialogue on a point rather than constantly trying to get right back to reading. Great give and take here.

  • 02:06 🧠 Your survival may depend more on your personality than external factors. 03:11 ❄ Frostbite or other challenges matter less than your own mindset and actions in survival situations. 04:50 🤔 Passive, negativistic, and hypercondriac individuals are more prone to frostbite in combat situations. 11:27 🤔 Knowing and facing the situation is crucial; you are part of the situation. 13:06 🤔 The ability to make up your mind and act on a plan is vital for survival. 16:08 🛠 Ingenuity and resourcefulness to improvise with available resources are key survival qualities. 17:33 🤹‍♂ Being able to live with yourself, finding value in challenging situations, and keeping spirits up are important. 18:16 🔄 Flexibility is crucial; stubbornness can be costly in survival scenarios. 19:26 😎 Keeping cool, calm, and collected is essential in high-pressure situations to avoid panic and make rational decisions. 19:52 🧠 Navigator freezes during violent flak barrage, highlighting the impact of extreme stress on individuals. 21:34 🚲 Childhood story illustrates the concept of panic-induced behavior, emphasizing the importance of training for calm and collected responses. 25:18 🌊 Parachutist's contrasting reactions to water landing - one panics, while the other calmly recalls survival training, showcasing the significance of training in high-pressure situations. 26:17 🛑 Discussion on the importance of detaching in emergency situations and prioritizing solutions based on a hierarchy of problems. 27:41 🛠 Example of problem-solving during an escalator incident, emphasizing the value of detaching and identifying the root cause for effective solutions. 31:24 💪 Nature vs. nurture debate discussed in the context of training and skill development, with an emphasis on the impact of training even in the face of genetic differences. 35:47 🏋‍♂ Discussion on extreme cases where intense training can potentially outperform natural genetic advantages, highlighting the significance of dedicated and focused training. 36:53 🧘‍♂ Flexibility and strength have significant genetic components, but skills like Jiu-Jitsu, playing guitar, or shooting basketball are more trainable. 42:08 🧘‍♂ Remaining calm in stressful situations is crucial. The calm demeanor of a leader, like Joe in the mentioned story, can positively influence the entire team. 43:12 🧘‍♂ Recognizing signs of panic and implementing strategies to stay calm can be trained, making a significant difference in survival situations. 45:32 🤔 Maintaining hope and confidence increases the chances of identifying escape opportunities that might be missed by those in despair. 46:16 🧘‍♂ Lack of faith can hinder preparation. Being proactive and preparing for survival is crucial even when facing seemingly inevitable outcomes. 47:13 ⌛ Patience is vital in survival situations. Hasty decisions can lead to failure, and waiting for the right moment is a sign of maturity. 50:16 🤕 Being mentally prepared to endure unpleasant situations, pain, and discomfort is essential for survival. 51:50 🤔 Understanding and empathizing with others is critical in survival. The ability to predict others' actions enhances decision-making in challenging situations. 54:55 🤼‍♂ In survival situations, being a gentleman is not always necessary. Knowing when to unleash aggression and fight fiercely can be crucial for survival. 56:33 🔫 Survival situations can lead people to the verge of collapse, highlighting the impact of stress on behavior. 58:23 🚶‍♂ The will to survive is crucial; those lacking the will to survive are more likely to perish. 59:22 🤔 Blend in and avoid attention; the ability to go unnoticed is a valuable survival skill. 59:48 🚶‍♂ Self-awareness is key; knowing when not to run in a crisis situation can be a valuable quality. 01:01:35 😨 Understand and control your fears; knowing the origin of fears helps in managing and overcoming them. 01:03:55 🤷‍♂ Embrace the idea of starting training from where you are, even for personality traits; improvement is possible through practice. 01:04:38 🤔 In survival situations, individuals must make decisions and take responsibility; confidence in decision-making is crucial. 01:05:48 📵 Learning to exist without modern comforts is essential for survival; finding satisfaction in self-sufficiency is a valuable mindset. 01:12:41 🤯 Observing and appreciating your surroundings without relying on constant stimulation can bring a sense of clarity and connection. 01:14:44 🚶 Presence of others demands attention; absence is significant in survival mindset. 01:19:07 🔄 Flexibility crucial in survival; learn from mistakes, consider multiple solutions. 01:20:03 🧘‍♂ Recognize signs of panic, cultivate techniques for calming down in survival situations. 01:20:30 😟 Pessimism hinders survival; avoid all-or-nothing attitudes, maintain realistic outlook. 01:21:40 ⏳ Patience and tolerance are essential for survival preparation; waiting can be an opportunity for learning. 01:22:22 🤔 Learn to endure discomfort temporarily; recognize signs of approaching breaking point. 01:23:48 🔄 Discomfort is a part of training; adapting to discomfort makes you more resilient. 01:29:47 🤝 Sensitivity to others is crucial; understand feelings and ideas, predict actions. 01:30:52 💪 Utilize survival training for self-awareness; recognize strengths, control weaknesses in emergency situations. 01:32:03 🏋‍♂ Embrace a mindset of taking ownership and avoiding victim mentality. 01:33:51 🌐 You have more control over your life than you think; mindset matters. 01:37:21 🤔 Taking ownership in tough situations relieves stress and leads to better outcomes. 01:40:08 🔄 You're in control of making a situation better or worse by managing yourself. 01:44:49 🦗 In challenging times, focus on finding opportunities and making moves to improve the situation. 01:45:58 🐜 Survival situations may involve discomfort, but you can always choose better options like Joovv or clean supplementation.

  • As in such of a specificity interpretation it was hypothesized that when the trait is directly relatable to the behaviors needed to perform a specific job, the correlations would be stronger between the trait and the behavior than when the trait is multifaceted and thus harder to relate directly to the requirements of the job.

  • I definitely agree with echo on the strength debate. A person with poor genetics can still train themselves into top tier strength capacities (600+ lb squat, 400+ lb bench, 600+lb deadlift) which is something no person on the planet no matter how naturally gifted they are can do without training for it. Having the right genetics is necessary to be in the top 1% but you can still get pretty damn close without genetics and certainly miles ahead of anyone that doesn't train.

  • I've been tboned by a dude that went straight through say about 50 and hit me right in the center on the passenger door. It was night and he had lights on and was the only other car on the road. You positively don't have any chance to react - my mind became aware of lights approaching and sent the, "that's odd, investigate" signal a quarter second, half second at most and right then the most violent break of silence followed by two "slides" in my mind - going towards the steering wheel and the drivers side door, and looking out the windshield to see, "f*cking tree." The airbag deploys and I remember thinking I was going to miss the airbag better l because I was shoved towards the door so violently, or the tree gets me as I fly off the road. There's zero chance you're aware of a car going straight through a red until your brain realizes something is out of place and it's too late to even get your foot off the gas before you're watching your accident in slow motion.

These men of antiquity knew stuff and the advice they give is as viable today as it was in their time. 2 pieces of advice come to mind.....1.LISTEN TO THE COMPASS OF YOUR SOUL.ALL YOU NEED LIES WITHIN YOU.ALLOW YOUR TRUE SELF TO LEAD YOU. Dokeshi no michi 2.PAIN IS INEVITABLE,SUFFERING IS OPTIONAL. Buddha You posses all you need to HEAL YOURSELF so commence, start in,get busy and you CAN do it,you are strong enough and just know there is someone out here rooting for you.

  • I say sorry in person ever if I’m not in the wrong. Pushing the cart say sorry or run into someone when they’re not looking. Sometimes I say it to much and I think to myself I need to stop saying that because it makes me look bad. Another resent example I told a random girl she looks beautiful in the parking lot of a mall. I felt like I was a weirdo and say sorry. 0 game 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️. also when I’m in the store and I’m going to the same direction and continuous seeing the same girl I feel like maybe she thinks I’m creeping on her when I’m not. However I’m just aware that I keep seeing this same person and she thinks I’m being weird. I’m 23 pretty above average big guy a but chubby and not a bad looking guy but I still think they think that I’m stalking them and trying to purposely follow them but I’m not. I’m polite, nice and respectful. And an over thinker

  • think personalities are important, however towards being effective, or working on a team, or leadership 1. it's not who you are, what you say, or what you think about yourself that's important, it's what you do, or suffer for a greater cause, or that ultimately personalities are fake, or what we think of ourselves, not what we are, or what we do 2. personalities tend to run on subjective wisdom, or what people wish, or their tendencies to ignorance, arrogance, or folly, or that one could call it the ' psyche ', or perhaps useless, or relative perspective 3. there's not that much difference between personality, desire, ego, or deception, or that of esp. self - deception, or wishful character thinking, or that respecting personalities, wants, or aversions is towards suffering to the ego, or errant self - perception, or depending on the person, or past 4. people have different layers, or functions of soul, or one could talk of the ultimate perspective, or realities, and ' personality ', or selfish reasoning, perspective, or desire ranks only as level 3, or perhaps 4, or where there are more important faculties, volition, or suffering to causes, or trauma, truth 5. ultimately, or personalities can't decide objective, or important moments, or suffering, or it has to be wisdom, character, or service that does that, or where also prayer is support 6. wanting money, or power tends to be part of people's personality, or one could call that the Devil, or then what is the rest, to be trusted, or honesty 7. people's personality also tends to run on ' popularity ', or what gets me this, or that, or one could talk of a faculty, or degraded soul, or to be careful of decisions that run on that criteria 8. ultimately, the realities we compete with, or to respect are TRUTH, SUFFERING, WISDOM, OR OBJECTIVITY, or that personality, or also subjective character is second to that, or can't decide, write, or review what has to be done, or the necessities, or sacrifices to being true, or gospel
