    • ELAINE BROWN its build looks fine, not underfed. And some cats have naturally “thinner”/more “athletic” builds (like Abyssinians or Siamese) whereas others can be naturally more stocky (like British Shorthairs or Maincoons). This one looks likes it’s probably a Russian Blue, at least to some extent, since it has that shape and coloring which comes with the breed. And panting can also come from overheating/over exertion as well as stress (wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a mixture of both in this video). But don’t disagree that it definitely appears to be terrified.

    • The cat probably belonged to the stadium and was kept to control the mice. Someone must have forgotten to lock him in the office before the game. The person who he allowed to pick him up was probably a staff member. In the UK, most traditional cinemas have a cat for the same reasons and on numerous occasions the cat ends up asleep on a customers lap during the film. As you can imagine, if a pigeon finds it's way into the cinema it is a nightmare. They end up flying to the light to get out and battering themselves against the glass in front of the projection equipment. The best way to get them out is by opening the booth port glasses and letting them out via the projection room. Preferably before the performance. LOL

      @wilsjane@wilsjane5 жыл бұрын
    • @@wilsjane are you sure about that in the UK? I'm not, I'm yet to even see Pussy at a cinema but you never know I guess lol

      @David.L291@David.L2915 жыл бұрын
    • +David Lench. I started working part time in the cinema when I was at college in the 1960s and went on to become the chief engineer of one of the UKs largest cinema chains where I worked until I retired. Except in central London, almost every cinema and theater had a cat who prowled the building overnight and slept in the office or projection rooms during the day. It was always a big issue deciding who was going to come in and feed the cat when the cinema was closed on Christmas day. With the multiscreen cinemas and automated digital film equipment today, the tradition has somewhat died, but you will still find a cat in many rural cinemas and these are where the he frequently stays in the auditorium on cold wet days and finds a lap among the afternoon audience to fall asleep. Before the busy evening show, the staff usually manage to get him out of the public area. You would be surprised how many businesses including banks have a resident cat, At one time food shops also had one to keep the mice from having a banquet on the shelves overnight, but modern hygiene regulations have banned them at supermarkets, but you will still find a cat in many smaller corner shops.

      @wilsjane@wilsjane5 жыл бұрын
    • @@wilsjane learnt something new and I'm from the UK, but London and I'm much younger. That's amazing! Wish I could one day see a cat in a cinema. I wouldn't mind at all if he or she ended up on my lap during the film, in fact, I'd love it. I love cats but can't have them as a pet, too expensive and I don't have a fixed schedule and I live in London so it wouldn't be fair on them. Thanks though.

It was a playoffs game and the yanks were rolling with Joba on the mound. But then...the Midges came and attacked him like bats outta hell. Joe Torre has said many times that he regretted allowing Joba to pitch in that environment instead of pulling his entire team off the field. My god, just pause it at 9:26 to see what Joba was dealing with out there. Yanks ended up losing the game and the series in a large part due to those damn Midges.

At one of them that I went to, they lost the ball on the field, and the game ended up running until around 10:00 at night when it was supposed to end at like 5:30. At the last one that I went to, during halftime they had some of the staff come out onto the field, and proceed to just chuck loose hotdogs into the stands, except that the majority of the hotdogs never even made it over the backstop in the first place. But one of the hotdogs that did make it over, actually fell out of its wrapper, and its bun midair, before falling downwards and hitting the guy sitting next to me directly in the face. Even if you don’t like baseball at all, you’ve gotta go to one of those games sometime.
