No one ever thought it would be easy to replace Alex Trebek. The beloved host of "Jeopardy!", who died in November 2020 from pancreatic cancer, left the game show without a leader for the first time in decades.
After his passing, "Jeopardy!" producers brought on a series of guest hosts to take the reins of the game, including Aaron Rodgers, Katie Couric, Dr. Oz, LeVar Burton, and more. Two of those guest hosts were Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik, and you may be seeing a lot more of them over the course of the next year.

Mayim Bialik should be disqualified on account of her history of anti-vaccine statements, endorsement of non-clinically-tested brain supplements (whose manufacturer is in legal trouble for false advertising), financial support of the Israeli military despite being an American citizen, entertaining the discussion of C-section births being against "survival of the fittest" and apology of Weinstein and Weinstein-esque abusers as provoked by women who dress provocatively? Surely that's not the best ambassador of knowledge, around which this job should be primarily centered. That leaves Ken Jennings as the best option by default.
Ken is a better host and human being than Mayim.

She keeps making these strange gyrations with her head and shoulders when she speaks, it distracts me to no end. Today's episode 21/10/21 she laughed (more like cackled) at the end like a little school girl, nickpicking l know, but she just annoys me so much. I saw the final clip here on KZhead before Jeopardy aired and just couldn't bear to watch the show, so l skipped it. Poised and graceful she is not.

Stop making a production out of Alex's absence . Although I'm sure he would be grateful to know how much he's missed, Alex was an intelligent man . I saw an interview with him shortly before his passing. He made clear of his appreciation of the masses of fans,but said when its time for a change people will adapt and learn to love a new host.This constant musical chair approach is taxing and costing Jeopardy intelligent, loyal fans of the show. Either pick one or cancel the show if we can't be adults about the situation
He also mentioned who'd he like to see replace him but she wasn't even given a chance: Laura Coates.

That's actually a great idea. They're both extremely likable in the position, so if they're splitting it I don't really see the downside.
I like both Mayem and Ken. Ken regular and Mayem do specials. She grew on me and I really liked her and the test is when they Interview the contestants. I like it to feel natural and not rehearsed and Mayem does that.

If I HAD to pick one, it would be Mayim. She is very comfortable in front of the camera. She really makes the show about the contestants...all of the contestants. Ken is very good . He does the job well but not as well as Mayim. I cannot put my finger on my reaction. Is it because she has the experience in front of the camera or that she is a PhD.?

I personally like Mayim Bialik more than Ken Jennings, but I'm fine with him being regular host and her being host of the tournaments.
TBH I don't think the time-splitting will work in the longrun. Bialik is an actual working actress, so unless Jeopardy is giving her a full time gig she isn't quitting her day job for this and that's going to cause scheduling conflicts down the line. I think she does the best job at it, but if it's time splitting vs Jennings I'll settle for Jennings.

I actually quit watching Jeopardy after a couple months of “host hopping “. This was MAJOR for me since I had religiously watched daily for the past thirty something years. I hated it and am annoyed with this decision to split hosting duties. Ken is the man and my pick. She does okay, but no pizazz. I may have to split my viewing to avoid her. 😩

I found her annoying with her strange gyrations and stranger outfits, taking attention away from the contestants, l think she is so unprofessional. Always preferred Ken anyway and will watch when he hosts and catch up on other shows when she hosts.
I don’t mind this latest solution but I couldn’t watch the majority of the tryout hosts. If that had gone on much longer I would have been done.

I think that the one and only Alex Trebek would be delighted. Disclaimer: I sincerely don't believe that Alex Trebek could ever be replaced but rather his position could be filled but not replaceable. Personally I think that both of the future hosts are excellent ambassadors of brilliance and fun wit to keep the contestants at ease.

He has the experience and history with the show, empathy for contestants since he's been in their place and understands what they're going through, and he has really grown comfortable and more polished with experience. Alex clearly respected him. Let Mayim host the specials that she was originally hired for.

Our family loves Mayim! She's intelligent, witty, kind, and quick on her feet. Ken won, yay. That doesn't make his personality suited for the job. He's slow and boring. Just the opposite of Alex, who could slide a comment in like hitting home base. Mayim has similarly charming wit!

People die, people move on - people change - times change. I'm grateful that Alex was the host -- and sad that he died. I don't need a new host to be like him - just someone who can handle the job efficiently and who shows a love of the game! I love watching and listening and knowing an answer, especially when the 3 contestants don't know! I don't expect my friends to watch the show when I'm gone.
I think Ken Jennings would make Alex proud. He would be my choice.

Nobody can take Alex's place but they just need somebody with a good personality and can handle the job that's all you need not somebody that has any kind of attitude towards the game and the contestants you had a few good people that tried out but unfortunately for me those two were neither one of my pics I'm going to try it if not I'll just quit watching

But, together with her funky outfits and strange gyrations, it doesn't make her look any better. Jeopardy is not a beauty contest and Mayim distracts from the contestants to no end. I, for one, choose Ken Jennings overwhelmingly.

Watched the last taped episode with Alex and turned it off for good. Haven't watched a single episode since and don't plan to.

It's unfortunate because my husand will NOT be watching the episodes with Bialik. I don't understand why, but he just doesn't care for her. As for me, she's okay. However, we've been watching a different game show in that time slot when she's appearing. To be honest, I would prefer Ken Jennings on a regular basis as well.

Mayim Bialik is the perfect choice. She feels genuine. She's more relaxed and natural when interacting with contestants. Ken, bless his heart, is more stilted and looks uncomfortable. He comes across like he's work to hard to look at ease. It's not working though. I still enjoy watching him because I'm a life long Jeopardy fan, but I really look forward to watching when I know that Mayim is hosting because she's very engaging and of course because it's Jeopardy.

Also, Pat Sajak hosted one year on April Fools Day when he and Alex switched shows.

Alex Trebek hosted Jeopardy since 1984, not 1974, until he passed in 2020. Jeopardy's' original host Art Fleming did the show back then when it was on NBC daytime. Incidentally, Trebek hosted 2 game shows in 1974--Wizard of Odds and then High Rollers. Just had to spot an error in the reporting.
