Awesome to see some of the old iron from a place we use to roam as kids.

I did my diesel fitting apprenticeship back in the 80’s on these tractors here in Australia. The 31 was a very nice machine, hardly ever gave problems unlike it’s bigger brother the 41 which had weak final drives. If I recall the 31 was between the cat D8 and D9 and the 41 was between the D9 and D10. Brings back memories.

I worked on the 41B Fiat-Allis (not Atlas) dozer extensively at Island Copper Mine on Vancouver Island British Columbia (1975-1979). Tripple rippers were intalled on our units. Cummins VT1710 V12 supplied the power. To service the transmission flip the operators seat up and drop down inside the chassis. The Fiat company bought into Allis-Chalmers and continued to manufacture heavy equipment. These units were phenomenal!

I believe the 41 was a D10 equivalent and the 31 was between a 10 and a 9 because this thing dwarfes a 9h of the same era
@William Underwood please tell me, what level was the FD 50 like D11T?
If I remember right, the problem with the 41 was that they used the same rear-end as the 31. It was great in the 31, but the bigger blade on the 41 ripped out the rear-ends right and left.
Wow awesome crawler!👍👍 the story are the best of all ! thank you !you made that older man very happy !👍👍
Great video, Chris. He is a hoot. I could listen to him tell stories all day. I wish you could have pushed some dirt with the dozer. He has a crop of machines growing. He gets around better than I can. I don't know if I could crawl my way upon to the dozer. I would have tried. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Wow this guy has some amazing old iron and funny stories lol. I'd love to spend a day or two listening to him talk. 18 ponds!!! Sounds like an addiction.
I think Chris needs one of these in the fleet, for those Big Jobs. Pair it with a Volvo 500 while he's at it
This needs to join your fleet Chris. That’s a beast!!!!!!!!
You know the way it started , there can't be anything wrong with the engine. I love how it surges !
I love listening to these old guys talk about the equipment.
Nothing like running them big beast . After running them everything else feels like yard equipment. Nice!!
That ole guy was great !! I liked hearing what he had to say about everything
Bet that guy has a MILLION great stories to tell. I could sit and listen all day.
OMG These are so cool Chris!! I hope someone takes these and restores them or at least put together a couple and put them back to work!! Where is Deisel Creek, C&C Eguipment They need these !! Thanks for taking us along Chris!!!
Those machines look like they are ready to scrap. Amazes me everytime that they still start and run after sitting for years and years.
Go see what Diesel Creek revives.
I didnt see much of anything sitting there that looked like they were ready to scrap, i saw a lot of equiptment that needed to be revived and put back to work
@@dankreoger611 👀🤗🤗🤗 already did
These older machines are mostly if not completely mechanical so there’s nearly nothing that can stop them.
What a treat listening to that Gentleman, font of knowledge and wit,They don't make the cloth he is cut from anymore
Great video. I enjoyed the tour. Your friend took me back to when a handshake would seal a deal. Day's long gone.
That guy has some gems ❤
He kept everything running that’s awesome
It’s like a “Petting Zoo”! You get to touch everything.
If I had the money and space I'd be like this old man. I love these old monsters.
Wow! That was amazing. Seeing those old girls start up and run is awesome. Puts a smile on your face for sure.
Holy found! What kind of monsta dozers! And big surprise: Liebherr R 972
She Huffed and Puffed and was Begging to be Put in Gear to Show Off her Mechanical Capabilities. 👍🙏
I like this old man. Seems very genuine.
Your host has a fantastic sense of humor....
That is a wealth of knowledge and I am sure some wonderful stories!
What a fantastic video. I was sucked in from the start to the end. I truly liked the walk around and the cold starts. I like your other videos but this one stands among your best. ‼ I cannot give it enough thumbs up. thank you
Perfect project for Matt from Diesel creek!!!!!!
Boy Chris...that is a monster of a dozer. Imagine the topsoil it can remove on a pond job....moving site to site would be hell.
These aren’t typically “site hoppers” they spend their career in one location because they are a nightmare to move
That is a dying breed right there! We gotta see some more of the place and the ponds that he built.
That old man is a hoot!
What a great personality. Quite a character!
That gentleman is the spirit animal for every kid who dreamed to be a heavy equipment operator ❤❤❤❤ What incredible stories he must have with those machines and their adventures. Thanks for sharing. PS: Hopefully you are able to get one of those beasties on the farm.
Probably couldn't find parts for alot of those machines amazing as long as they sat that they started up thanks for sharing CHRIS 👍😎
He loves Liebherr, that's for sure. Many pieces there would make good restoration projects.
When an old-timer with a stick says it's a runner, you know all it takes is a bump of the starter.
Amazing how older stuff starts right up after sitting for years and if that was a new machine that sat 10 years it would be a nightmare
Love ❤️ the back story to all the equipment. It's been awhile since I have seen a fatalice running.
I enjoyed that it wasn't long enough, and that old man was brilliant, he could tell a story or two, hope you go back there
I was mesmerized by that Fiat moving all over that long leaf pine in the beginning and somehow managing to stay alive! That place is great! Never in one spot have I seen so much old equipment turn over and start.
My goodness that machine is so huge you could dig a pond in an hour ! It’s neat to see the old machines start up again !
Great Video Chris. My Pop was a subcontractor for several GC's here in the Memphis area for many years. Two of the gc's owned liebherr dozers,(721 & 731) liebherr excavators ( 936 & 942) & liebherr crawler loaders . ( 631B) my pop actually got where he liked Liebherr equipment..& owned & operated a 621B Loader with 4 in 1 bucket ( pedal in the floor operated the 4in1) & a 721B Dozer . 2 of the best machines he owned . Mack
that fellow has a lifetime of stories and makes it fun to look around at all that equipment and it some big equipment, wow
Amazing.. I reckon the trees for 500 yards around all flinched and leaned away when that Beast fired up.. if they could have uprooted and ran away they would have when Chris raised the blade and started it walking ! Fantastic exhaust note on start up
you know that's going to be Chris in fifty years in his farm, awesome property and really nice gentleman!
Absolutely awesome!!!😂 I love old technology.
Wonderful video. Could listen to a man like that all day. Great stories and very experienced. Thank you
It amazes me how he just stands there waving his cane reciting where all the controls are and tricks to start them.
This fella is quite the character!
Super cool to give life to these old materials 👏👏
The oldtimer cracked me up around 32:23 😂 'oh that's sweet! SWEET! ain't that sweet or what?!'
That thing is an absolute BEAST
Happy Easter Chris,God Bless you and yours!!!😊
This could be the future captain kleeman 😮 And what a good boy Robert is ,he did as he was asked ,bet he learnt much that day 😊
Boy that started you had a smile from ear to ear like a kid in a candy store
Now that is quite the collection.😊
When the world comes to an end - Chris will clean everything up! Looking forward to the rest of this story!! Chris is having a lot of fun!! Stay safe, Jim
Now that’s a yard full of fun 🤩

That tree branch was looking for an eye to poke out!
The kind of guy you never get bored of listening to. Those machines - just WOW - They'll be still running when the new machines of today are in the scrapyard.
