You are the 1st I have seen when demoing a print to show ALL the specs used to replicate: Printer (of course), material manufacturer, slicer used, profile used, and speed settings. Thank you, keep up the great work.

  • Just got my Ender-3 V3 and I hate the location of the spool holder, too. So I moved the two mounting posts up to the two holes at the top of the printer and it clipped right on. Can't use the spiffy kickstand with it mounted on top, but I didn't have to print one and it seems to work just fine, even using the runout sensor. The filament does get into the wires, so I may run a reverse bowden tube to provide some guidance for it, or I may just bypass the runout sensor and run it directly into the top of the extruder.

  • another great detailed review... 👍 🤓I would have appreciated if you tried to print some vases in vase mode to see if the Z-axis speed is a factor on those prints where the vertical axis change happens a lot quicker.... perhaps you could try this on a revisit video where you compare vase mode performance on a few printers like the Prusa MK4, BambuLab A1, & Creality Ender 3 V3 SE + KE.... 🤔btw, I did notice you just ignored the V3's print flaw at the lower right corner of the hex crate with your blue Creality Hyper PLA test (at 10:46) ~I'd definitely curious to know why that happened... 👉there's also the ABS test where there's a very noticeable overhang drooping on the top outer edge's lip (at 16:50, though it could just be due to your scaling... just curious as to why it didn't occur in the strip just below it) 👋cheers!

Already got over 100 hours on it already. Going to wait and see if Microcenter has them discounted on the 20th when they get them in before I get another one. They are that good. Compact Fast and STABLE (Unlike the KE and SE). Sadly I can't fit it in a standard Ender 3 enclosure because it's too wide with the detangler spool holder. Had to use my own like you did.

  • In the Con 4 you should not see the coreXZ as an advance to replace the Z axis which is the one that is "least used". On the contrary, you are using 2 motors to move the X axis, which gives you more acceleration taking advantage of the fact that the movement in Z is less.

  • The core XZ motion system enables the power of two motors to drive the X axis (and the Z axis) which can provide greater acceleration in both directions (though not at the same time). The same thing is true in a core XY system. Like in the core xy system, core xz removed the weight of one of the motors from axis holding the print head, the reduced weight increase the available acceleration. However, in this case, it is the Z axis the will most benefit from the reduced weight, and most bedslingers already have two motors driving the Z axis. So the core XZ system does give the X and Z axis a small acceleration advantage, but not the Y axis. To get the most out of the core XZ system, one should slice models so that the longest side is along the X axis.

    • I purchased the Ender 3 S1 right after she reviewed it. It worked great right out of the box. I use it all the time and I still love it. It just works. Most of my prints are PETG and TPU and I have never had to use any adhesive. The only challenge I have had is printing Translucent Green filaments (both PETG and PLA). Other color work fine but there is something about that particular color. I usually have to use a raft to get it to stick and the nozzle set to 250, and the bed set to 80. It can be challenging but it's such a beautiful color. A few months ago I bought the tent that Ender makes for the Ender 3. It installed easily and most of my issues with this particular filament have disappeared. I highly recommend the tent.

I know that I could find a hidden gem in your reviews. Seems like Creality needs to tighten this one up a bit. The ringing in your tolerance test was bad, and it failed to complete every section of the test. For the price, this seems like a hard sell, when there are CoreXY systems out now in the same $$$ range, that perform amazingly by comparison.

If you created it do you happen to have a resource you could point me to on how to do it? And finally, I noticed the z offset was just a tiny bit too low for my liking as well. But when I try to change it a message says 'This can only be changed in print'. I haven't been able to find anything on that message yet. • I have questions. 1) First, is there a good, proven Cura 5.5 profile for this printer and if so, will it slice to provide nice prints like shown here? Thanks for showing that Creality dryer. I looked it up and to my great shock, it's not crazy expensive! And it appears to match the design on the printer reviewed here. 2) With the TPU print test, around 14:20, I'm seeing vertical banding, which if not actually part of the design, could indicate some binding issues (on most printers). So the question is, are those vertical lines, lighter, darker designed that way as in, perhaps thicker and thinner wall sections, or is this indicating an issue with this printer? 3) After watching the entire video, it appears that this uses a bowden system rather than direct drive. So using TPU that is soft, let's say, below 85, will it cause the usual jams, stretching and "spaghetti" problems in the bowden tube and/or extruder. Honestly, I'm very nervous about a bowden printer. The print I have is direct drive and I'm accustomed to that. But, in your demo, this Ender does seem to print any material without issue. But again, soft TPU ???? I don't know the firmness of the TPU that you tested with. I am aware that most bowden printers can print TPU that is on the firmer side, like above 85. So this remains a question/concern. Thanks for the excellent review. Seriously, one of the best I've seen. Not blathering on about insignificant stuff like so many do. Just direct and right to the point. Thanks in advance.

  • How accurately does the XZ maintain horizontal motion? It's a pity that you don't use measuring instruments in your video. A printing layer thickness of 0.1 mm and fluctuations of only 0.01 mm is 10% of the plastic flow.

    @SergeiPetrov@SergeiPetrov2 ай бұрын
  • One of the advantages of core XZ is that it moves the X stepper motor down to the base where its mass has no effect on Z-axis movement, but the Z-axis isn't that critical to begin with. I wonder if they were anticipating a revolution in using the Z-axis more freely instead of using purely horizontal layers as most slicers produce these days.

    @yeroca@yeroca2 ай бұрын
    • Actually, the more useful advantage is that the Z-axis homing is done reliably by a switch on the gantry itself.

    • Most popular 3D printers such as Creality, Prusa, BambuLabs are open filament 3D printers, meaning they don't require a specific brand of filament. You can simply buy generic filaments with a 1.75mm diameter from Amazon or anywhere else.

  • Would you go over Cura Accel values for the older ender 3 / ender 3 v2 machines? I print at 50 mm/s and don't know what to put these at.

    • It doesn't matter, as the firmware of the old Ender-3(or V2 or most Marlin bed slingers) limited the acceleration to 500mm/s², so it won't make any difference no matter what you input in the slicer.

  • The empty screw holes by the spool holder and on top of the gantry...... wonder what they are going to be used for?
