Its time to Durability Test the OnePlus 12. Get a 4-week trial, free postage, and a digital scale at www.Stamps.com/JERRYRIG Thanks to Stamps.com for sponsoring the show! The OnePlus 12 has a new feature called Aqua Touch - which supposedly allows their new flagship smartphone to work in wet environments or even in the rain. Today we put the OnePlus Aqua touch Glass up against a $1300 dollar Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and an iPhone 15 Pro to see which smartphone can truly win smartphone of the year in Atlantis. (Come on, you know I had to put an Aquaman joke in here somewhere...)

OnePlus and Samsung : Write correctly with no problems . Apple : HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRR
amazinggggggggggggg
I think it's because the way both OS handles touch. Apple is inferior in this aspect. Idk why but they keep the touch area narrower for any interaction.
And why did I read that in Siri voice 😅😅
The s24u got the same second word wrong but of course we just ignore that and carry on…smh
@@IronsWHU the iphones keyboard completely broke and wasnt even usable anymore ...

3:46 yes Apple get there eventually and make it seem like it's a revolutionary new feature.
And they'll name their "new" technology wet dream or some bs
Lets wait 8 years for apple heard to talk about the ground breaking invention where the keyboard works in rain
@@pierrelindenlaub9497😂😂
Makes me think Samsung, OnePlus or whatever they are so shit in marketing. If Apple came up with Samsung's circle to search they'd name it something like "Ingenuity touch" and people wouldn't stop talking about it for like a year.

Zack, please hesitate

No burn test today:( definitely the most unimportant test but it's always fun to see how the screens react
Just what i was about to say.. 😂
Of course there was. The iphone was burnt quite handily.
He did burned the iPhone with emotional damage
I will never know how many seconds will it taje a lighter to ruin the screen
He forgor💀
2:40 I was thoroughly surprised to find Zack use swipe typing to test the responsiveness of the screen. It appears that in the age of enormous phones, there are some of us who still use swipe typing.
swipe typing is the way to go! there are options to make the keyboard smaller too
I find it more useful on large displays, changing phone messes with your muscle memory and swipe typing kinda stops that
I use swipe typing and it’s very natural one handed on my iPhone 15 Pro. Funny to see how bad the iPhone performs in the water touch test, seems about right
When you're using a touch screen for typing swipe typing is the fastest way to type (unless the auto correct is garbage)
@@the_undead Tbh I use a mix of all, dictation, standard and swiping. I find all of them to be really good, autocorrect works 95% of the time
Congratulations to OnePlus for surviving another JerryRig bend test 🏆 and kudos to the OnePlus team for bringing an innovative yet useful feature like Aqua Touch!

3:09 Apple this is super embarassing lmao
it's honestly not that bad. The iPhone 15 Pro is an amazing smartphone. If anything they deserve shit for how bad Siri still is.
iPhones are always about 5 years behind flagship android phones. iPhone didn't get wireless charging . OLED. Stereo speakers. Haptic feed back, swipe to type, quick charging and many other features until 6 years after androids had it. Androids had type c for 7 years now . Apple just got it this year. And apple doesn't even take full advantage of type c benefits like android does.

I was looking for OP11, but bought Magic5 Pro instead. Sold it after 2 months (solid phone tho, perfect i'd say) but the OS i didnt like. Then bought OP12 as soon as in launched in Poland and im happy with it, loving OP phones, my first was 3, then 7T and now 12.

hate to say it, but my 2019 Huawei p30 pro got some awesome sensibility that work on a wet screen, tested in rain few times and it was stunning back in the day. Kinda surprised, that its not common for flagship phones 5 years later
This year is a total disappointment for Apple in every aspect😂😂
Good job op u survived the bend test
I usually do an IR blaster test using a smartphone camera whenever I purchase a new remote for my TV :) Even my friends weren't aware of this trick.
reviewers seem to like the water touch thing on the 1+ phone, and no one cared when Sony basically had the same thing since Xperia V lol
Man I hate how underrated Sony phones are. They just have some of the coolest features for a phone. Too bad their marketing team is not that great
Probably because Sony is so bad at marketing.
Now Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) is the entire SONY Marketing Department-- He has created many videos highlighting SONY mobile phone innovations! 😊
Not only bad marketing but also their computational photography is pretty bad... Imagine having the best sensors and camera hardware in a phone where you can capture literally the most stunning photos but only by adjusting each and every setting every single time like a DSLR or mirrorless... I mean, sony should focus on open and snap more, that would create an impact IMO
Also, 4K display is just waste of resources... I know the display is crisp but 1440 is very fine for that, getting a 4k display in a phone for some $1500+ is insane
LOL there's no S in that sentence at 2:52 😄
I feel like you should from now on include the testing of this feature in every other smartphone durability test videos.
Love your channel Zack
4:58 omg I didnt know thats the IR blaster's light, and just thought that my OnePlus3T just flashes light randomly or spies on me.
The 3T does NOT have an ir blaster....

@@onyxBadger79 it may be a depht sensor or something like that, i dont quite remember, but a lot of phones if not every phone have it beside the selfie camera.

It made my day!
I just want to say that Aquatouch is a feature I didn't know I needed. I can change media or respond to messages on my phone with wet hands while doing dishes or after a sweaty run. I honestly dislike the camera face a lot though. It's gaudy and smudges a lot when trying to balance the phone in hand that already feels top-heavy.
Apple in few years: We have brand new display technology that works when wet. We call it *insert dumb PR name*. Fans: Omg such innovation, never seen before.
Great video as always thanks! Will there be a teardown case for the onplus 12 and 12r? I would pay an arm and a leg for one 😂
5:01 Sometimes in a very dim light environment we can see this by our eyes too. But probably some leakage around near IR spectrum & not pure IR itself as otherwise it’d seem like a flashbulb going on & off. As a kid I remember holding a remote to my eyes & pressing the buttons trying to see that reddish glow. Thank goodness there were no keychain lasers & stuff around in those days 💀😂🥲
The Aqua touch feature seems to be a game changer, especially against the iPhone 15 Pro. It's also nice to see such durability in a lower priced flagship. I'll keep an eye on OnePlus next releases.
Jerry, you might not reply, but youre amazing man, i watch your videos for years on my old main account, your videos are always so entertaining and so interesting, youve made me learn about cooling systems on phones, specs, etc, thanks jerry, you really are 'everything'
Thank u hitman for the aqua touch information
It's somewhat satisfying to see the jumper matching the eye color, that's some attention to detail
Apple iPhone 16 launch: We introduce a brand new feature called "Magic touch"😂
hi love your vids bro
3:35 pro max glass break was fueled with this 😂😂
I heard the little pop during the bend test and that made me so freaking nervous
The "May it rest in peace....es" got me up from my nap😂😅
I drive a motorcycle in the UK so rain gets on my phone alot 😅. the OP12 aquatouch works perfectly. It's not about typing with the screen wet, what most phones get wrong is confusing drops falling on the screen as fingers.
I have a case on mine that cover the camera glass with cut out for the camera nice video
I am absolutely loving my new one plus 12 and while I am taking good care of it it's nice to see it can take a beating.

U should start water testing in all the phones going forward. I think all flagship reached a level to pass most of the test. U should make them reach new level with new tests
Scratches at level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7 should be added to fundamental cosmological constants. :D
Thank you so much jerry rig, you are always the best
FINALLY! Since OnePlus 9, they recovered their way. Guess that eventually go to OP12, I have a 2nd hang OP 9 and is a wonder.
After doing what you do best which is rig everything apart, do you give them out away or you recycled them?
Jerry how did you become that fit and how to enable swipe touch on Samsung devices
Don't know why we had to wait till 2024 to get a feature for issues as common as these... Wet hands and screens were always a problem... Even after wiping ur hands or a drop elsewhere on the screen triggering unwanted inputs is such a frustrating thing.... Hope everyone adopts it
how can i find those back cover for my one plus 12 which you had on s24 ultra

Can you test the ulefones More soecificly the power armor 18T, they are marketed as being durable and it also has a thermal camera
don't you mind put a giant droplet on all phones like in the iphone for a better comparison? xD
@jerryrigeverything Question can you durablity test the Oppo Reno 8 lite if you already haven't
3:30 Me too...mee too 🤣
Please make a teardown case for this phone!
What a great idea for a video!
Hey Jerry, could you make a teardown case for the OnePlus 12, with the red battery of course?
Please do a Teardown Video for the Red Magic 9 Pro. Many Thanks
So I have normal tempered glass protector down first, then hydrogel on top of it and the responsiveness change is hardly noticeable!!! Just wanted to try it for a second but assumed I would have to remove it but it’s great! Yes these two screen protectors seem to work together very well with the hydrogel on top. Very confident about handing my phone over to someone in video village now 😁 PS liquid ceramic screen protector on both the phone screen and the tempered glass screen protector underneath the hydrogel. It’s like having 4 layers of protection for those rough and rocky days in the mountains 👌
Where do I buy the cases you have from
OnePlus continues to be one of my favourite technology brands. Thanks Zack 🙏
Hey @JerryRigEverything, I know you have a soft spot for science and methodology as well as building cool stuff. Do you think making a small rig that bends the phone and shows the amount of newton meters of force? It would be cool to see how tough they really are! Keep up the amazing work!
He might make a video where he specifically takes a bunch of phones and does that to them. But for what is supposed to be a basic review for the average consumer, that is way too much detail
Jerry what about the bunker project or the whisper project we need more content and update on those please 🙏..
Please try the new Huawei Mate 60 pro plus out, it has the new Kunlun Glass 2
Aquaman can finally use the phone under water. 😅
Hey were is the flame/fire test???, common Zack FIRE! FIRE!!!!
ikr he forgot the flame test
I just baught this phone last week, the battery life and camera are phenomenal! I think you should get one to test it in water just to see how long it lasts submerged and for how long
It makes much more sense to test this feature with wet fingers rather than a wet screen. You know, just to make it more closer to something that can happen in reality. My S21 never seems to work with wet fingers at all though, and neither could my older phones, maybe the newer phones can.
what do u do with the damaged phones ?
The infrared light is also super bright on security cameras, its funny to see sometimes because ill have my phone on my lap and its trying to unlock without me even noticing because its at that weird angle but since im not looking at it and instead looking at the cameras and you can just see your face getting blasted by infrared light.

It's crazy that OnePlus had the 50W wireless charging since 9 Pro and no other flagship comes close even today.
