  • Now that TV and home theatre are so impressive, I think the studios should work on options for early release of current Movies, even at some premium and that they have the early streaming metrics added into opening weekend viewing figures for movie theaters

    @logtothebase2@logtothebase25 ай бұрын
    • That makes no sense. Streaming metrics are completely different than theatre metrics for viewings & sales. There's no point or reason for a studio to early release on streaming as they would get NO money from that, theatres provide sales for movies through tickets.

      @AndrewPL5@AndrewPL55 ай бұрын
    • @@AndrewPL5 Unless they change the rules and commercial agreements etc.. . Lots of people dont want to go to the Theatre, they want to sit at home, eat there own food, keep an eye on the kids, etc and still want to see the latest movies as they open. likely it would be $$$, but you would save that on price gouged gooey snacks, fried fatty salty crap and Cola. It should be a thing.

      @logtothebase2@logtothebase25 ай бұрын
    • @@logtothebase2 Now you completely changed the subject. The point is, movies make money with ticket sales. With ticket sales theatres make money off food/snacks. Your original comment said movies should be released on streaming early. And I said they can't because then they would not make money, as movie studios rely on ticket sales to make money. They can make deals with streaming services, but the movie would not at all make as much money. Look at many movies making 1 BILLION dollars off ticket sales, they would not make that much with streaming, ever. So your whole point is not only unreasonable, it just doesn't make sense. You are free to watch it at home later when it's available to stream/buy online. Your dreams are not reality.

      @AndrewPL5@AndrewPL55 ай бұрын
    • @@AndrewPL5 Fair, but as only to emphasise why some customers are averse to attending Theatres. It would cut out the theatre and their $$$ , at least for SOME customers. I would anticipate that the Studio could model their early-early release rental customer pricing in its favour, but for sure at the expense of the Theatres hotdog sales and social aspects (Bad).

  • Thank you for your very candid review on the 98" QM8 which is heads & shoulders above the 98" S5... I'm 💯% sold on it & finally relieved 🙃 we can stop looking and even though an 85" set could have done the trick there was this nawing feeling in the pit of my stomach of not being fully satisfied with a total immersive experience..🤔.. Our seating distance is 14-16' ...Thanks again!

    • How is it head and shoulders above? $2500 is a massive difference compared to $6000. Once we get into $5000+ it only makes sense to buy the best LCD tv which would be a Sony 85 inch X95L which can be bought now for under $4000

  • I love the 98" TVs! Thought they would be too big to watch at 12' but they are NOT. IF you have the area to watch them at 12' the immersion is great BUT you have to sacrifice picture quality when watching regular TV content. You will suffer picture clearness, motion, and overall quality of picture with these 98" TVs especially in the cheaper 98" models. They are great when watching 4k movies. So the trade off is what kind of content do you want to use it for! Gonna be another 3 to 5 years before the 98" TVs are keeping up with the picture quality of the 75 to 85". So right now if you love the very good picture along with size, I wouldn't go any bigger than 85" Sony. Also must consider the 98" prices of all these TVs. These new and improved ones in another 3 to 5 years will be cheaper than the crappy 98" models that are currently available. Pick your poison, a crappy 98" now for $5,000 to $10,000 or a nice 98" TV in 3 to 5 years for $5,000 to $8,000 that will be so much better! I absolutely love the 98" size but can't stand the picture quality. So, I made the sacrifice of upgrading my incredible 75" Samsung Q9FN to the Sony 85" X95L that will satisfy me for the next 3 to 5 years till the 98" TVs improve on their picture quality.

  • Tv sounds great with all provided specs. I am curious on editing choices here though. Why when talking about gaming or the settings for action movies was there a foreground focus on Justine and the controller and not the picture provided by the tv? It leads me to believe with this being a partnered video that there may be issues with these settings so the TV screen was blurred while using these features. I doubt Justine will see this but if anyone has used this TV before or has any input on the quality while in these modes, please let me know. Otherwise, phenomenal video as always.

    • I think it more has to do with paid sponsorship. Justine was watching live football and playing an FPS who probably don't have licensing deals with TLC. She was able to show the drone videos because they were filmed by her + the NFL/COD promo videos because they're officially partnered with TLC ( but not specific NFL teams).

  • Can someone tell me how the speed of the tv is after a few months/years of use? My 55” Samsung is SLOW after a few years of use. The lag from the remote to to the tv settings/changing to different apps is very slow. My 65” LG is still SUPER FAST in the same time frame…definitely due to the operating system of each brand. How is the TCL OS? Is it still super fast after much usage? LG doesn’t make 98” TV’s unless you want to spend the same amount as a car.
