Hey everyone! Sorry I am late to the comments section! Had to grind for a few days to get content done before heading to NY for the VE TV Shootout. What are your predictions?
How can the Apple Watch Ultra do 3,000 nits? Its OLED and I didnt know OLED could get to 3,000 Nits, and if it can, they why cant they get it that bright on TV's??????
I was planning on getting this once our new house is finished but I was in the BB Outlet store and happened to see the 85” x93L for 2499. I delighted the fam later that evening with a huge box. Not sure why it was at the outlet because it looked brand new with all of the protective film on it. $1500 off was a savings I couldn’t pass out on!!!
Can we find the video you used to test the TVs on KZhead?
Incredible how difficult it is for electronics manufacturers to put backlights on remotes still to this day It's not the 1980s anymore
It actually blew my mind a little bit when I got the QM8 and saw that it had a backlit remote lol
@@Sas-wk9ljYeep internet ruined the tech world. They release shit tv and then *fix it* via update 6 months later.
it honestly doesn't bother me at all. Most people are using a streaming device in current times, so the base remote is only used for settings tweaking (which you should have dialed in pretty quick for the various content types you're experiencing)
Funny thing is I have a Sony from 2011 and the remote has a backlight. It's worthless because the buttons are opaque, but it is there.
Its a nice feature but most tv remotes are so simple and have so few buttons that its not a big deal, but it would be a nice touch nonetheless
Def one of the BEST comparison vids I’ve seen in a long time!!!! Thank you for doing this! Side note, maybe first time I sat thru the entire embedded ad portion! Well done! 🎉
I like the new versus format. Always enjoy your reviews, expertise, and how you’re able to describe/explain clearly.
Unpopular opinion: I want my tv to just be a display. I don't want any "apps" on my tv.
I’ve got a Sony 75”KXD & it is so difficult to use due to the apps loaded onto it. Even with a software update it’s only marginally better.
10,000%!
Agreed. 90% of people use a streaming device of some kind anyway. Not to mention if you're buying a high end TV you're wasting potential if you aren't using a 4k blu ray player anyway.
Agree, start a monitor line up, still include speakers. Would be great
This is not an unpopular opinion, most people I know feel the same way. Just FYI, I recently bought a Sony X90L and when you turn it on for the first time, it has an option to set it up as a “basic” display, with no smart features enabled. It’s about freak’n time these manufacturers figure that out!!
Caleb, you’re always fun to watch. Keep putting out great stuff 🎉
This video sold me on the TCL QM8. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Caleb! I took a look at the Value Electronics event advertisement and didn't see the X95L in the official shootout itself. Nuts! Have fun MCing! We'll watch it via the live stream.😀😀😀
this was great! i was curious how these two tv's stacked up against each other. thank you for this
Love this format. Thanks for all your reviews and the hard work you and your team put in. I absolutely love your channel. Learnt a lot from you. A recommendation for a new format would be comparison when it comes to watching sports and gaming. Most people buy a big ass TV just for sports - Football, NBA, Soccer, Tennis etc. And there are a ton of people including me who love gaming. So seeing how these TVs - 55" and up - perform primarily for these 2 categories would be brilliant.
Now its time for a a95l vs x95l comparison
If the Sony is the best LED TV ever then you know we want to see it vs the A95L. Need to know if the gap is any closer.
Thanks a lot for this compare. Exact thus one i was looking for. Great that at least one person is comparing these two TVs.
My X95L arrived yesterday. The picture quality is absolutely stunning. Worth every penny. Zero regrets.
My pockets aren't lined enough to get the X95L. I got the X90L which looks be a brilliant TV aswell, although not mini LED. You, my friend, have possibly one of the best TVs on the market! I'm very jealous. Enjoy!!
Got X95K 65" and before that had TCL C735 "75 which was half the price, and my wife's first comment was "eww this looks worse than the previous one we had" which was X950G 65". Immediately sent the TCL back and ordered the X95K and have been very happy with it, despite the occasional blooming. From this comparison, I can immediately see the same reasons on the QM8 why I could not live with it, washed out colors off angle, over brightnening of the image, shadow details being lost and motion being mediocre. For a 85", I'd never compromise, and having had TCL and Samsung at home usage, after going X950G, and now X95K, I can never go back. Next up is X95M 85" or X95N 85", depending on how I can negotiate with the wife. I do like Panasonic and Sharp as well, and they are right up there with Sony, and LG being a close fourth player. The rest are a no-go for me after Sony accuracy.
@@halfclappertopchedda Hey..its a SONY...you can sleep well and have peace of mind!
@@halfclappertopchedda do you feel you are missing out on a better picture with your X90L? As I'm seriously considering X90L over X95L. Let's forget about the marketing crap of the 'best picture' superlatives for a second and ask yourself with 100% honesty, do you love your X90L and enjoy evey moment with it or not?
@@aarongreene2525 you guys spend fortune on motorbikes and cars, why not on a TV for a change?
Like the format, and the honest outcome 👍
We have had 5 Sony TVs over the last 20+ years and all were excellent for their time. Never had any problems, our current 70 inch is 8 years old and still has fine picture.
I would use my Apple TV 4K instead of my internal apps but the problem is,I watch a ton of KZhead tv. The Apple TV audio is multi in vs the Sony tv is Dolby surround on my denon receiver. It’s night and day and disappointing.
@@CandBLawnCareAndroid better than apple
You cannot beat Sony. Their attention to detail is insane.
I seen someone's review where their screen died on their Sony X90L therefore it's not impossible for Sony not to have problems (apparently they needed to fix it 2 different times too)
i see the sony 10% better not 2 times. sony is 5k and tcl 2.5k. i take the tcl no questions askedand and reduce the brightness to 50%. that's why credit card debt is going to the moon because people don't buy what they can afford
Excellent, Caleb! More like this, please!
Please do - do a video on quality differences between external boxes, apple , Fire TV cube, Chomecast, Roku, etc..... vs internal Google and LG WebOS apps. To my understanding no one has done such a video. Also I suppose on this front - you could turn off wifi connection on the main TV as well.
I like this comparison and I agree with your logic and choice, Caleb. Keep up the great work 👍
Love the comparison videos. Keep them up. Definitely more value than the unboxing videos. One thing I'd love to see is a comparison of the X90L, X93L, and X95L. Like, how much better / what are you getting with each tier jump? Also, under what conditions would you opt for an X95L instead of a G3 or A95L and vice versa since they're in the same ballpark price-wise.
me too! I think the X93/95 will get a bit brighter in the highlights, but in regular SD content they should look pretty similar.
I've asked for the same X90L/X93L/X95L comparison.
I actually appreciate this kind of comparison. Thanks
Great comparison review imo. These are very helpful to novices like me still using 11yo sony kdl bravias. Especially if compared entry and mid level priced 4k tvs. Look forward to more great content 🐈👍
We’ve been very satisfied with the QM8 we got a couple weeks ago. Coming from a 2017 LG that ended up with a cracked screen somehow, the picture quality and black levels on this TCL are phenomenal.
Great VS Video can't wait to see more
Great video. Would like to see more "unfair comparison" videos to get your thoughts on the value proposition, like a high-end LCD vs budget OLED.
Yes! How about the QM8 vs the A80L? Or, better yet, how about the X95L vs the A80L!?
As most people use the built-in apps you should judge TVs based on their performance using those in my opinion. But you should more often address that issue so it gets fixed. 👍
Yes on the video diving deeper into the Google TV implementations. And, what happen’s when one runs setup on a Sony without ‘Smart TV”, an option presented at the start of setup.
Cheers for another informative and entertaining video, Caleb! I like this versus format, think it works well. Only thing I happened to notice was the chyron at the end of the Upscaling/Image Processing section at 16:43 reads "Gaming" instead of "Upscaling". Not going to hold it against your editor though. 😉
Yeah, it looks like the Gaming graphic was inserted a tiny bit prematurely.
You ARE AWESOME by the way !! Thank you for your wonderful research ! You’re very skillful!
It was nice to see how the TCL held up against the best. Great comparo. Thanks
This is a great review. Caleb, I'm looking to replace my to dim Samsung TU7000. Could turning down the backlight to 75%, and decreasing the contrast say 20% would that make the TCL look a little more normal. I agree price is an important component of the purchase. Thanks.
appreciate the comparison
got my X95L roughly a month now + HT-A7000 Soundbar, and with that combo the eArc HDMI Port "Problem" is gone. Got my PS5/XBox plugged in to the soundbar and from there into the eArc HDMI Port - works perfectly
Glad to hear you've got it working well now. It's weird the eArc being on one of the HDMI 2.1 ports was listed as a negative. For users with an AV receiver (or soundbar) that want both audio and full bandwidth for video (4k 120) the eArc port needs to be on the HDMI 2.1. If it's on a 2.0 port you'll have to choose between full video quality or eArc.
Excellent video comparison....! Please, "Streaming Devices" 🙏
I do like this kind of VS videos keep em coming ! Quick question will you review Samsung's S90c ?
I bought the TCL yesterday before watching your video :)
I'm really wanting to see a comparison between the QM8 and the X90L. I remember in another comparison vid (I think between TCL and Hisense), you said you would choose the X90L if it were in the mix, but I'd love to see your breakdown of reasons why.
Dude dont trust ANY of his videos with Qm8 n Hisense . ME bought 3 Hisense Flagship panels last 3 yrs (meant to get 2 but had to move n size up). H9G, U8G, U8H….all 3 in home in person are EPID OLED black. NONE OF his video look nearly what they look like in store or at home. I also checked U8K 75” in store his review did NOT look like what it look like in store . I know what I was expecting when i click QM8 vs SONY video .
I have checked SONY X90L. It’s shi!!!!!!! I went to Bestbuy a few days ago. It’s 5 min walk from my home . X90L has native contrast of 2000:1 Hisense 7500:1. TCL 5500:1. Native contrast means how many shades of grey between white-> black. X90L has blooming (noticeable), then LOW native contrast, then dim . All sorts of issues. U8K QM8 will smoke X90L of course he knows how to “max tweak em” to make them look like garbage.
@birdtj82 ur crazy 🤪 . TCL and Hisense PQ isn't anything more than bright inaccurate colors and horrible motion handling.
@@damontroch4765 dude u re WELCOME to call anyone crazy,. Just like when first Tesla came out all the RAM truck drivers will call ppl buy Tesla crazy. Lol
Anxiously awaiting the u7k review! Is it coming soon?
Don’t trust him with U7K review. His reviews of Hisense are not accurate. Get review from Fomo, Quatum, n etc. steve tech therapy.
Digital trends should provide total coverage of the HDTV shootout. The VE shootout FOR YEARS has had the most ridiculously low budget/low quality coverage both during the live stream as well as summarizations and post event coverage. I would love to have a single place to get all the interesting talks and key takeaways from the VE HDTV shootout. Hopefully, Mr Zohn gets behind this.
You scared me Caleb but I knew you were going to pick the Tcl because your a fair and honest reviewer! Thanks!
Gran video: realista y al grano. Y gracias por los subtitulos en español
Yes do a discussion on built in apps vs Apple TV vs googleTV vs Firestick vs xbox, IE several. I have always wondered if you compared several of the same movies on several different apps which has the best quality. Which app is closer to a 4k blu-ray and so on. Its a lot of options but would be great to see.
UX vs X95L worked be a much more fair match up.
Agreed!
UX is vaporware
Agreed. Only 400 of these were shipped to the US though, so supplies are limited. It is suppose to be next on the list for RTINGS to purchase and review. So looking forward to that review.
@@tomtube1012 I'm a little disappointed because Caleb mentioned he'd review the UX a month ago.
@Digitaltrends. Hi there, Caleb. I really enjoy your content in fact, you were one of the 1st reviewers i watched when looking for my very 1st oled. This question has nothing to do with the reviewer but I'm reaching out for help to get the correct sound system for our TV room that doubles up as a family room and almost everything in between.. our room is small Apartment type only 13 foot by 14 foot there are many things to consider like friendly neighbours ect. Is there such a thing as over kill ? Spending money on a soundbar, sub & surrounds to have full Dolby atmos but very rarely been able to use. I have watched one review after another and no one has covered anything like this. I really would appreciate any help in making the correct decision...
I have the qm8 and this tv blows me away ever day it's just amazing
How is it for watching sports from say KZhead TV
Great video. I like the format of doing unusual versus. How about 77 inch s90c vs 85 inch Qm8? The s90c is only $500 more. If not a versus, any chance of doing a 77 inch s90c review? Its gotten great reviews and lm interested in your opinion. Thanks.
the redness on 4K content is my TCLs problem too i thought it was my unit, but turns out its a overall software problem i hope they will fix it
Maybe you posted a video for it already but would love to see the TCL against a comparably priced Sony. Or something a little closer. Great video though
Sony X95L for me 🙂
Same!
I just got the QM8. Man is it a great looking tv with some frustrating flaws. It definitely overbrightens things. But it also darkens the near black too much. So I had to pull the Gamma down to 2.0. 2.2 was way too dark. It crushed all the shadow detail away. Even at gamma 2.0, I had to raise the black level to 53. That brought out all the shadow detail at the expense of a few percentage points of contrast. But there's still plenty of contrast. Still dialing in the picture. I may try turning the gamma down to 2.1 for a bit more contrast and hopefully preseve the shadow detail. If TCL fixes the EOTF curve on this tv so it doesnt simultaneously blow out the bright highlites and crush the blacks, this will be one of the best ever.
That's the thing and what people don't realize. That just because the QM8 has more zones, it doesn't mean it can do them properly. They don't have the algorithms or processing to make use of the zones. It becomes brute force that causes black crush and loss of shadow detail. You raising black level means you now lost all the "deep black" because it literally have raised them to deep dark grey. There is no way to dial these TVs in for best picture, it's always forgo this over that as compromise. This is why I never think they are "value" option like Caleb said. No it's better to just save money for another year and then get a discounted X95L next year. Or an X95K 85" from last year. The processing, detail, accuracy, shadow detail all of it is far superior on the X95L for example. If it's basically impossible for a person to get X95L. I'd say go with X90L instead. You get the same quality processing. But you just have to live with more blooming in bad scenes. But fortunately that only happens less than 10% of the time. Also even THEN you can fix 90% of that "10%" by just having a few lights on in the room at night beside the TV on each side. Now you would barely see the blooming or raised blacks, but you get almost all the glory of excellent image. Every time I see X90L vs U8K or QM8. It wins with ease in looks. It's just in worst black level/dark HDR Scenes it falters. But that is only in "dark room" viewing. Ironically X90L has better contrast in almost all scenes. The blacks look deeper as do the contrast.
I wouldn't buy TCL 85 even for 500$. I respect my time.
@@ps4games164 I bought one amost 6 years ago just to try it out. Its been the most reliable (and best looking) tv I ever owned, so I decided to get another one when I upgraded.
I ended up restoring the tv to factory reset, then starting over (it lost Atmos with Netflix and D+) and ended up at gamma 2.2 and black level 53. Thats the sweet spot. All the contrast but without crushing the shadow detail. Set looks fantastic. Its also very clean. Minimal DSE, absolutely no vignetting (my old 6 series had pretty dim corners) and the Dolby Vision on this set looks phenomenal. The HDR pop is off the charts.
Are you going to get the extended warranty? I went ahead with the Hisense U8k and going to get the extended warranty. I talked to some of the repair guys that come to my work and they said the TCL and Hisense are better TV's than folks think and they get the most calls from a brand that starts with S and ends with G. @@FURognar
There's no denying that Sony's quality comes with a premium price tag. I don't mind paying extra for a TV that gives me just about everything I want from a display, because by my calculation if you keep using your TV for many years (which is what I try to do) and it continues to give you pleasure during that time, the high initial cost can work out to be a bargain, in the long run. I'd love to buy the Sony X95L but it's sold only as an 85" screen, and I can't fit a display of that size anywhere in my house. So, an additional virtue of the TCL QM8 is that it is available in 75" and 65" versions for those who want a smaller TV. The Hisense U8K also provides the option of a 75", 65", or 55" screen. I just wish the Sony X95L offered me those choices, as well.
I like the comparison but at the end of each section I would add something like if the Sony is 10/10 the QM8 is a 9/10. Helps quantify how big or little the difference is between the two TVs and how much more the extra few percent will cost you.
Or at least big win vs little win... like the off angle is a big win and a lot of the other categories are tiny little wins
Excelente video, tal vez en el futuro TCL logre el televisor ideal para todos😊
Excellent content as always!! The off axis kills the TCL for me. If you are getting a TV this big- you probably want to have friends over to enjoy it. I'm not that cozy with all my friends. LOL. I guess I'm just old but 5K for a top of the line 85" seems like a smokin deal to me!
I keep watching all your videos about tv and was wondering between the A95L and X95L which tv do you recommend?
seriously, considering pulling the trigger on the 98” QM8 tempted to wait to see what the QM9 offers next year, I want it for my Xbox series X & PS5. I got a 77” LG C1 for our master bedroom but my wife is always watching Bravo TV on it so I can never game on it. Rather splurge on a bigger TV for the living room where I can leave all 3 consoles and game with the kids.
Nice video keep up the good work
Love my TCL qm8 and I came exclusively from Sony
Same here and I love my QM8. No blooming whatsoever
Your reviews and others got me to try Hisense. I'm using a 55U8G as my office PC monitor and second TV (Amazon sale $800). I also went with a Hisense 65U8H (Amazon sale $750) for my living room TV. My Jamo 5.1.2 / Denon 2700H obviously makes for "better" sound, but watching you or the news or something similar, the 65U8H is my first TV that doesn't require a soundbar to sound decent. Yes, the VA panel has restricted viewing angles, but it's tough to imagine any TV is worth the price difference. I play console games, so I actually took my X-Box into the TV store to see how each TV displayed the flames from Oblivion*. LG won hands down. A "buy for your use case" example. When it came time to upgrade, I had moved to where physically looking at anything major was a challenge. Getting even biased opinion reviews is totally useful when making major purchases. Just take a bucket full of salt when looking at paid to review reviews (aka infomercials).
Did u get the feel that Caleb is paid off as well??? I bought 3 Hisense Flagship panels 3 yr in a row. So i have a LOT to say than his 1 week tv review then “send off” . That NOT 1 review he present the TV even Normally. A LOT of ppl are noticing now. I thought was fluke when i got first Hisense. Then 2nd yr U8G …MY 2021 tv still LOOK matching near X93L visual. I went to store check, grab U8H last year,,,,INCKY OLED BLACK, true black. His video of course :”i dont understand it blinks” , wtf is d blink!!!! I came home played on U8G. “Turn MOTION Smooth OFF” then put on “film maker mode’ to MESS UP my U8G to make it look like trash. Then suddenly TADA. It is mushy and blinks. This year when HE put that U8K video up. ( i already checked 75” U8K in store they had in store display where i am at ) . I was cringing when he had video up. And at that U8K vs Qm8 video …..last sentence of video, of course :” if u dont like any of this 2 tv, welcome to buy Sony X90L”---infomercial !! When i saw this Qm8 vs X95L. I was like “double cringe.” I knew what he’s doing. He is disgrace for TV review industry online . I am sure he’s not first wont be last. There bunch ppl doing it.
@@birdtj82yeah I feel they Over Promote Hisense and TCL. Because my U8H is dogshit compared to my X90K.
I think there was a point to the review and if someone is bright enough, they know the X95L is the better TV except for price. I feel many are curious how big of a gap that is though. People are judging the U8k and TCLQM8 too hard. It can only do so much for 1299-1399 for a 75 inch. I will be ecstatic if it lasts me 5 years. @@birdtj82
Great new format!
Like he comparison format!
Caleb/Digital Trends, have you changed something with your video settings? They are unusual noisy. And yes, I checked my tv with multiple clips and sources. But this video stands out.
If you want the best picture for movies use a dedicated bluray player. Off course, not everything is on physical media. I also have noticed that the build in apps don't always work perfectly.
$2500 US difference, going off of Sony's MSRP of $5299.99 vs. the TCL QM8 on Amazon MSRP of $2799.99. The TCL drops down to $2089.99. Really good video showing the two, and I absolutely agree for most the TCL QM8 would be a perfect TV for the price. I scooped the 65" QM8 for my bright living room and it has been great for a $999 TV (on sale for Prime Day) - really no regrets (was between this or the U8K)
I ordered my X95L for $4300 USD less than two weeks ago.
The Sony will be under $4k soon enough
@@Tyanmax99 i would grab UX any day before X95L. 150000:1 native contrast. Vs X95L 1:5000 Then UX-16 bit chip, X95L 10bit.
i see the sony 10% better not 2 times. sony is 5k and tcl 2.5k. i take the tcl no questions askedand and reduce the brightness to 50%. that's why credit card debt is going to the moon because people don't buy what they can afford
If next year's version of QM8 can close the off-axis viewing angle issue and keep the $ value, it would tip the scale for a lot of folks like me
Have you used the Apple TV’s “calibration” on either TV, to see if it makes “out of the box” pictures better?
6:32 when you do this, it would be awesome to see game consoles included. I think for a lot of people, those are their media devices. Comparisons of streaming on Amazon/Firestick, ChromeCast/Google TV Stick, Apple TV, PS5 and Xbox Series, as well as built/in apps for LG, Samsung, Sony, Hisense, and TCL would be a wonderful thing to see.
Forgot Roku stick too :) Not to add to the burden at all…maybe get two videos out of it? ;) One for native apps, one for devices. Eases content creation scope and gives you more time, plus more content, plus a more digestible set of content for us viewers :)
Caleb I need you to check this for me X95L. I found this out this morning while searching for tv demo material. It seems that the MAX app may not be to blame but Sony's implementation. The videos you mentioned with gray bars seem to be because Local Dimming is t really in full effect. It's almost treating it as if it was in Low setting. If you watch Game of Thrones you'll notice you can cycle between Low, Medium and High Local Dimming and it works as it should. But not in Justice League, Dune, etc. It will only change when you go to Off or Low Local Dimming. Let me know what you think?
Now do the Sony 77" A95L vs. the 77" A80L (same glossy-type, and not matte, screen as the A95L) - let's see what you "get" for all that extra money. And if the 77 QD-OLED (A95L) is the way to go vs. the 83" OLED (A80L).
I have a 2015 Sony TV playing reels in my lobby 24/7. No issues, the TV still works as expected. I bought a TCL 6 series for my mother and it didn't last much more than a year. I have an employee who's TCL didn't last 2 years. I have never had a Sony TV die on me and they're solid, near commercial quality. I'd gladly pay and recommend a higher quality product over a budget price/quality one, such as TCL and Samsung TV's.
Did you contact TCL? I literally put my kid’s scooter wheel through the screen of my 8 Series and they replaced the whole TV despite it being user error and not covered by warranty.
@@bradarnold7834 I didn't bother. My mom sold hers as broken for $100 and my employee thew his in the garbage. I felt bad for recommending the TCL brand and gave them both LG OLED TV's for free.
@@bradarnold7834 "I literally put my kid's scooter wheel through the screen"...the fuck is going on in this household?!
My two cents prob don't apply any longer coz my tv is no 13 years old and works great, and works alot! That's why I'm so hesitant in changing it, I don't think the "newr" brands will last as long
@@Krynale I was really mad okay!?! lol. No, it was Christmas and I was assembling the scooter on the living room floor in front of the TV and when I picked it up I didn’t have the bottom part secured and the axle swung the back wheel around and into the screen. It was just me being dumb.
Real, nice review:) how do you think do the x95l compare to the samsung qn95c or hisense ux?
Please keep using the TV Apps in the future so we know what to buy !! I feel like a majority of people use the native apps.
Did you guy test also the sony with hdr brightness preferred? Im interested to see how it compares than
This VS format is excellent Caleb!
I currently have a TCL 6series 65inch..... upgrading to an TCL QM8 85inch for black friday....I have 0 complaints with TCL and sure Its not the very best picture...but you absolutely can't beat the bang for ur buck factor with TCL....I'll keep the 2grand In my pocket lol
Caleb really loves him some QM 8, that’s for sure! I’m still not sold on its processing power and speed for non HDR content compared to the Sony.
I’m mindblown, that you haven’t got a hold of Sony’s A95L for review yet :-)
Considering i paid 1800 for the 85inch qm8 and sony costs nearly 2500 more, i can live with the slight downgrade.
I'm a TCL fan BUT I think the DETAIL in the Sony is better displayed because it isn't washed out by the brightness. ...BUUUUUUUT... I'd still probably save some $$$ and buy the TCL
nice comparison , thanks
Does the built-in tv app color issue affect the Sony Bravia Core app?
Question caleb.....I picked up your comments on Google and it producing grey bars instead of black in comparison to external devices. If there is an issue with apps installed on tvs running Google how do you think this would effect oled picture performance with in built apps
Caleb please do X95L vs Z9K. People want to see the comparison. Even if X95L is downgrade we can't deny that the 65X95L in Europe is great deal for 2600 euros. By comparison we would get just 55A90J for that price in 2021. Now we get much more for inflated 2600 euros. We have to give credit to Sony for that but I'm sad the Z series is discontinued beast.
So few people are going to buy the X95L, wouldn't a comparison between the X93L and QM8 make more sense for actual TV buyers?
Hello, thank you for your great videos you are helping me a lot, this is a bit off topic but after seeing your videos I have decided to buy a TCL TV, either the C741K or C745K the C745K is £100 more expensive then the C741k but the specs look identical according to TCL website, so I’m hoping you can tell me if there is an actual difference or not.. kindest regards..
Great video Caleb. Btw, your eyes look incredible in this video.
Had my X95L for a few weeks now and very impressed with the picture quality whether upscaling or native 4k. I got mine with a 25% discount which amounted to £700 off which made the purchase a lot more palatable.
I'm considering X95L but if someone can tell there's no day and night difference between X95L and X90L, I think X90L would be a better value buy, what do you say?
@Sas-wk9lj I'd say get the Samsung QN90C in 85" instead which is what I'm doing.
@@keithzastrow I'd listen to you if I didn't already go for X95L. Got carried away with the hype.
Samsung is rubbsih. Until today they are not able to get dolby vision and on top the colours are to extreme
@@Sunny-uk5fn lol NO ONE can tell the difference between Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Non issue. Samsung is absolutely the best bang for the buck especially with their quality. I'm buying their QN90C in 85" this year. Also you are factually incorrect about your color statement. Let me guess....you're basing that on the demo mode you saw in the store?
Thank you. I would like to see A95L vs X95L I’m the future please
Love this VS format. Please do the more price relevant QM8 vs X90L (or even X85L) And preferably with low-light scenes such as GoT S8 🤞🤞🤞
It’s too redundant we all know the mid-range Sony’s can’t compare to the overall picture quality of the TCL/Hisense TV’s
TCL's tier one TV is the X955. The QM8 is TCL's tier 2 TV. This is a comparison between Sony's tier one TV against TCL's tier 2 TV. Similarly, Hisense's tier one TV is the UX. The U8K is Hisense's tier 2 TV.
Got that Flossy Carter staple sound playing in the background 🔥🫡
Ordered 65" x95l for my mom for xmas, her tv is like 10-11 years old, can't wait! Hope the panel isn't horrible in EU.
I thought x95L only come in 85”. When did they realase the 65”? Do u mean A95L?
Oops my bad u ar in EU. Sorry about that. :) yeah they only have 85” in USA
The built-in apps image quality problems are really odd. How is the fireTV stick 4K max youtube or prime video/netflix picture quality?
How much different would the Hisense U8K be against the A95L?
Does the apple tv helps the QM8 processing sharness?
In Germany we get two remotes - one sleek without number pad, but BACKLIT (😉) and a larger one with number pad (not backlit)…
Expensive as well
I'm thinking that a better comparison for the tcl qm8 would be the Sony x 93 l what say u in 65 inch
Hopefully the TV’s at the shootout will be calibrated on judged on more than just brightness and “specular highlights”!
I’ve had multiple TCL sets, from older edge lit 5 series to the R635 and the mini-LED set released a couple years ago. While they are great for the price, I always had issues with random shutdown and/or reboots, audio delay issues no matter how I set my receivers audio delay settings (one app would be fine while others were not, etc.). The latest mini-LED I purchased a couple years ago has already started having a weird flickering of the screen every now and then. Annoying enough that I decided to replace it as it was my main living room TV. So instead of going TCL again I scooped up an 85” Sony X90L from Costco for $2500 (and I’ll get $500 back this week due to a price drop thanks to Costco’s policy) which makes it cheaper than the QM8. So far I’m very pleased with the Sony out of the box. Time will tell if the “Sony tax” is worth it. Oh, and when buying the Sony at Costco, you get the coveted backlit remote and 5 year warranty. 👍
They had the x90l 85” for $2000 recently?
@@gamingsfinest1 be careful . I went to Bestbuy last week the X90L in person does not look Ike the videos they produce. His videos are rigged. Objectively intentional. U8K n Qm8 are both INCKY black. He know what he’s doing (having 2500nit) full OUT bloom NOT bright room, not day time. Like who turns TV ON ANY day at 100% brightness at home at dark?????????? I have seen X90L its good, but NOT as OLED as Hinsense n TCL. He False prepresent the TVs. i am saying it cuz i bought 3 Hisense flagship panels ….3 yr in a row. NONE of them look like any of tv in his video.--so i have MORE to say cuz i have them. Than him “having tv in the office for a week, then gone”. His videos are trash now. So many ppl calling him out.
@@gamingsfinest1 yea, you are better off getting a Sony (lower end model, then a high end lower end brand). The most expensive Sony and the least expensive Sony still use the same processor and power supply. Power supply is where they try to save money as it's not something u see and there is no spec for it.
And cash back if you're an executive member!! Even more if you have the credit card!! P.s. yeah, I work for Costco! Lol
@@michael-4k4000 sure BMW x3 , Audi A3 Utter Tin can worst car vs Hyndai Palisade . Toyota Hilander .
thank you very much for this video i wanted to buy a TCL QM8 but i can't seem to find it in my country! does this model have other names in other regions?
Do they both have an optical connection, i use for soundbar
This is mostly off-topic, the only part that isn't is it's about TCL and Roku. I haven't upgraded my TV from the 2018 TCL R617, and I feel they've just made the biggest update since I've had it. You can now change every setting in the TV menus as opposed to having to deal with the Roku app. So gamma, noise reduction, and color space are all available to customize there which makes it a whole lot more convenient.
That’s the same TV I have! If you end up making an upgrade, please comment and let me know how much better a new TV is!
