    • An m.2 is an ssd, do you mean he has more space in his m.2 than you have in your SATA ssd? M.2 is the connectivity method. It has higher bandwidth and therefore higher transfer speed than SATA. Both of them can contain the exact same amounts of storage, however SATA is cheaper as it is an older standard and is considerably slower

    • @@achilleaustin4477 Good explanation - I would just add that the M.2 is interface specification and can support PCIe, SATA, WiFi, USB and other protocols. That means that you can have M.2 SATA SSD'S (22mm wide by 40, 60 or 80mm long that are different than common 2.5 inch SATA SSD's but is still limited by SATA bus speed of 600MBps) and M.2 PCIe (NVMe) SSD's that are using PCIe lanes instead of SATA and therefore much faster (especially the new PCIe 4.0 spec). And to add to this confusion you also have an older mSATA specification that's also limited by SATA bus speed but a tad wider than the M.2 standard 22mm width.
