    • SC actually plays a slower game than Iowa. They tire their team out by grinding and then in the second half, there's usually no chance for the other team because they're already tired. Dawn Staley reflected on having to slow the game down in the championship.

  • It’s very simple. South Carolina was the better team, the deeper team, younger team, the better coached team. It’s no surprise they went 38-0 with the amount of effort and efficiency that the staff and the players pour day in and day out. Congrats to both teams for a great season! This Woman’s March Madness really set the bar going forward. (Edit: 38-0 not 36-0. Point still stands)

    • Not necessarily. 1 player can beat a team - IF YOU LET HER/HIM. they did an excellent job containing CC in that 2nd half, but if they hadn't been able/willing to do that this thing could have gone the other way. Think of how many teams that were objectively better teams than Iowa lost to them because they failed to contain CC.

  • Can not forget the bench players for SC out scored Iowa 36-0. Shannon you are right, SC throws so many talented, athletic body's at you that they just wear you down. Their bench goes 10 deep. The 5 sitting on the bench is basically another starting 5 for any other college.

    • Our bench players put up 37-0 against Iowa. The depth of my Gamecock team was the identity all season long. Also, we typically have even distribution of scoring. Folks forget we smoked Uconn without Cardoso in February. Won by 18. Won about 3 other games without her. Shooting from the perimeter was the difference between this year's team and last year's team. If we had the slightest in outside shooting last year...Lord telling what the headlines would've been with back to back undefeated seasons and back to back chips. Great win by Staley's Women's Gamecock team. #RevengeTour completed. #RepeatTour loading up! 🤙🏾🐔🏆🏆🏆

  • One of the biggest reason they won was 3 things: Raven defense on Clark only allowing her 7 pts when she was the primary defense, bench players out played Iowa starting 5 lol, and the defensive boards/ SC shot the 3 really well! This was a personal revenge game for SC and they bounce back with the best win which won they the national championship! Congratulations on an amazing undefeated season SC 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

  • Bree Hall tried but was no match for Caitlyn, Raven on the other hand was ready for the assignment. So I agree, Raven was a very big contributor to this win. Being slighted and humiliated was the fuel that burned in her for the entire off-season.

  • South Carolina had the size advantage with Cardozo being so dominant inside and they're NINE deep. They play nine players and they're all good! Iowa wore down. South Carolina bashed them on the boards. Outrebounded them 51-29 and 18-6 on the offensive glass. A mismatch. South Carolina was clearly the better team!

  • The free throw attempt discrepancy in the first half is the reason the game was close at half time. Refs influenced the game as much as they could to keep the viewers tuned in and to not allow SC to blow Iowa away.

  • She has no defense, she has no inside game, she's avg at rebounding. She's good at shooting long distance and hoping it falls. If I throw up 20 threes, and half of them fall, that's 30 points a game right there. It's called being a COMPLETE player, which she's not. When the long jumper isn't falling, she has NOTHING else to fall on. You can't be the greatest at anything being a ONE trick pony.

    • first you need to hit half of those, or 40%, or even 30%. and have the confidence to shoot it. and you will need somebody to allow you to shoot it without being told off or kicked off the team. next she shoots only 22.7 shots a game, and only 13.6 of those are from 3. maybe fact check first? and, she averaged 8.9 assists and 7.4 rbs. for her 139g career, she averaged 20.1FGs, and 10.3 3FGs with 7.1rbs, 8.2asts, 1.5stls and 0.5blks. to say she only shoots and can do nothing else shows bias or blindness. sorry, but you can argue all you want but fact check it first.

  • Just an incredible tourney. It was South Carolinas to lose. Dawn Staley has done a masterful job, what a deep team. Caitlin absolutely showed up and will go down as one of the GOATs, certainly one of the best players in a generation. There were sooooo many good freshmen this year which is scary. Can’t wait for the WNBA season to see Clark team up with Aaliyah Boston.
