That was definitely a lesson for me! We were at that game. And we looked at each other and we knew it was over. A friend turned around to talk to some Tennessee fans. He only got "Congrat" out Tennessee fan interrupted with, "OH SH.." 😅 What a game!

The coach always tells you, the game is not over until the whistle blows. Those Tennessee players were standing around not paying attention to the final inbound, and NO ONE was guarding Cardoso. They didn't even give her that respect because she's not a long range shooter (that was her first and only 3 pointer), and their hubris cost them the game. GO SC!!!!

Coach Staley called the perfect play in this situation - her best 3-point shooters (minus Tessa) on the perimeter, Watkins down low, and the unsuspecting hero at the top. This forced players to stay locked on their individual opponent, allowing Cardoso to step out for the uncontested 3! NICE!!! This is superior basketball IQ on full display! A little luck never hurts...❤

Nah, they had 2 fouls to give so that was a smart play taking it. Just like if someone were guarding Cardoso, they could have taken another one just to kill the time. The missed free throws and the bad cover at the end cost them the game, Cardoso shouldn't have been left wide opened like that because it was 5 against 4 and 2 of Tennessee players were caught in no man's land not guarding anyone and you can't win like that.

Great clutch shot by Kamilla. Coach Staley flew in her mom and sister from Brazil last week for senior night so they got to see this in person so that was very special for Kamilla to have won the game like that. Tennessee played a great game. They came back from being down by 23 points. The Gamecocks played very sloppy the 2nd half and very sloppy against A&M the first half. Let's hope they got all of their sloppy playing out of their system because LSU will come at them hard tomorrow and they'd better be ready! Go Gamecocks!!

They gave that game away! When pow pow miss her shout, they 3 .7 seconds on the clock. Instead Tennessee player try too run the clock out. She just stand there an let SC foul her! Then she didn't take her time at the free-throw. She just threw the ball, then last Tennessee just let SC center left her by herself! Bad coaching, their team is just that dumb! That was just plain stupid! Tennessee just gave that game away! I mean if you look at the last play. Tennessee players look lost! As they didn't know what to do. It's just crazy!

Literally the best moment in all of the 2023-24 season. A player known for her defense, and never having made a three point shot in a game, launches a shot from 3-point range which banks in the basket. Only Coach Staley could see this before it happened. Faith said, "50-50 CHANCE," Coach said, "I love those odds."

The coach always tells you, the game is not over until the whistle blows. Those Tennessee players were standing around not paying attention to the final inbound, and NO ONE was guarding Cardoso. They didn't even give her that respect because she's not a long range shooter (that was her first and only 3 pointer), and their hubris cost them the game. GO SC!!!!
Just because a player don't do it in the game doesn't mean they don't practice it throughout the yr. She don't do it because she don't have to.

Coach Staley called the perfect play in this situation - her best 3-point shooters (minus Tessa) on the perimeter, Watkins down low, and the unsuspecting hero at the top. This forced players to stay locked on their individual opponent, allowing Cardoso to step out for the uncontested 3! NICE!!! This is superior basketball IQ on full display! The missed free throws and last second foul really killed it for them.
Nah, they had 2 fouls to give so that was a smart play taking it. Just like if someone were guarding Cardoso, they could have taken another one just to kill the time. The missed free throws and the bad cover at the end cost them the game, Cardoso shouldn't have been left wide opened like that because it was 5 against 4 and 2 of Tennessee players were caught in no man's land not guarding anyone and you can't win like that.

Great clutch shot by Kamilla. Coach Staley flew in her mom and sister from Brazil last week for senior night so they got to see this in person so that was very special for Kamilla to have won the game like that. Tennessee played a great game. They came back from being down by 23 points. The Gamecocks played very sloppy the 2nd half and very sloppy against A&M the first half. Let's hope they got all of their sloppy playing out of their system because LSU will come at them hard tomorrow and they'd better be ready! Go Gamecocks!!

Tennessee played horrible the last 5 seconds. Not making free throws, fouling Fulwiley stopping the clock, and zero defense in the last second.
They gave that game away! When pow pow miss her shout, they 3 .7 seconds on the clock. Instead Tennessee player try too run the clock out. She just stand there an let SC foul her! Then she didn't take her time at the free-throw. She just threw the ball, then last Tennessee just let SC center left her by herself! Bad coaching, their team is just that dumb! That was just plain stupid! Tennessee just gave that game away! I mean if you look at the last play. Tennessee players look lost! As they didn't know what to do. It's just crazy!
That game was one of if not the best of the entire season. That shot was one of the most incredible in NCAA history but the journalists would give more attention to the LSU/SC game that involved a dustup...

Literally the best moment in all of the 2023-24 season. A player known for her defense, and never having made a three point shot in a game, launches a shot from 3-point range which banks in the basket. Only Coach Staley could see this before it happened. Faith said, "50-50 CHANCE," Coach said, "I love those odds."
