I have just acquired one!
Thanks for the upload, enjoyed :D
New Bugeye sold for around $1,900 when new. Painted gas cap was standard. I question this car's weatherstrip around the doors. Original weatherstrip was a fuzzy material. Rubber floor material is available again. This car is "cherry", Paint color too.
Is this color Cherry Red?? its stunning would love to know what it is.
Was it driven to the Concourse, and back?
I have a sneaking suspicion this may have belonged to my father. I he had one in rough condition tha the sold sometime before 1975 to a gentleman, who I believe was from St. Marys ON. If you want to contact me I can provide some other details to see if they match.
I bought a 1960 Sprite in 1960 and a lot of parts under the bonnet were different. The is engine is 948cc not 950. Mine came with carpet not rubber mats. It didn't have a safety latch on the bonnet. The heater was completely different, yours was not a US spec car. I also worked for BMC and British Leyland at the time.
is a painted fuel cap standard?
Mine is chrome and lockable......an extra!
@@alanvt1 Painted is correct
it is way over restored for a Sprite. The engine compartment would not shine. The copper water line should be painted engine color. The body seams should be textured.
Nice car but over restored. Who cares about all the picky details?
