This was brought up by kit in his reaction. Due to the player being able to deploy both tentacle and heatrays, survivors would be able to tell that the tripod is a player. Here's a quick and easy fix; Make it where the tripod can only have either the tentacles or heatrays deployed, instead of both. If you would want some kind of reason to this, you could say that having both deployed would put a dangerous strain on the tripods source of power. (That is most likely some kind of reactor or generator.) I believe that the heatrays are very power expensive on the tripod, so it would make a lot of sense that the normal ones can't use something else. This makes more sense because of the fact that the tripods always have a shield up, which should also be very power costly. The Uperpod would be the one with a power source with a capacity that is big enough to run both tools at the same time. (This would make sense since the uberpod looks like it is a heavy duty version of the normal one.) I think that the aliens solved that problem by upping the size of the tripod, into the uberpod so they can have more room to make separate generators for the heatrays. This might be disapproved by the fact that the aliens don't use much of the extra hood space on the uberpod. This could mean that the uberpod is just a sign of superiority among other pods. This could also be debunked by the fact that we see three ubers working as a squad in the hill scene, instead of one uber and two normals.

The Martians use the same technology from pacific rim to control their tripods. So when you are playing as the tripod, your basically the Martian pilot.

I agree, but I think what we're noticing is that each part of the game gets its own dedication. I believe we will see a big NPC update video in the future.
Not gonna lie we need scout pods that raid houses whenever an tripod probes a house and finds a human

Ever since the first video of a controlled tripod, I always wondered if they were going to either update it or show more of it, my unaware ass couldn’t prepare itself for 20 minutes of new gameplay that was just stored in RAF’s closet 💀.
Grim was feeling the hype!
Imagine them making an asymetrical gamemode out of this, like one person plays as the Tripod(s) and the rest play as the humans. Would be such a unique asymetrical PVP game.
I believe that is the intent. We just don't know much about lobby sizes or other multiplayer aspects like queuing or win/lose states.

it's so much more logical that all Tripods have Tentacles and Heatrays that they simply holster when not fighting or when finding smaller groups of Humans

The new design keeps the spirit of the original design fron 2005, but I'd say it improves upon the "aquatic" design that the movie team wanted to convey.

I was a kid when I first saw this movie! It was love, hate right off! Loved the design of the tripods, but it was like any other alien movie, I have seen! Really took aliens a little more serious, as a kid!

I just wanted to throw this out there after everything which has happened with battle bit. I remember being on a bit of a tangent about graphic's, and I feel that battle bit is the perfect example of 'graphics don't need to be great for the game to be great'.

i hope that raf makes a gamemode that doubles or even triples the amount of tripods that are around and your only goal is to survive as long as possible untill you die and have a leaderboard for it
You should be able to adjust certain parameters in single player.
I can't wait for the game to come out, prox chat in battlebit was fun, it will be even more fun when hiding from tripods. Also first time I was in a vid so that's fun.

I am always curious in the future if they will add an Mansion in this game, maybe just have 1 unique huge mansion where people can go in there and hide, and I wonder how would the probe go in there and search, when its too big? i think there should be 10 Martians to go into those kind of big houses to find humans in there :) that will be so cool. I am also happy the fact that these houses are all different, which i am glad. Hopefully they will add more but not copy and paste interiors Dayz just gets boring with all the same houses interiors. I still feel so excited for this! and I know raf will make every houses different :) Also for the hit-marker sound I think it will be great if we get like woosh Sound whenever we killed a human. maybe vaporize sounds.
Very good thoughts! With a game like this, you have to put a lot of effort in to keep it from feeling repetitive. I would love to see unique POI in the game!

My only problem for rn is the NPCs, hoping Raf can fix em cuz some didn’t even react to being spotted and picked up. (Or like the person who got spotted in the house, no reaction)
Yeah the NPC's still need some TLC. I think the one he picked up was just for demonstration.

They just need to take my money already, I could care less if this game is PC and I don’t have the right setup as of yet and only have consoles. One of these days I will support this game whether it’s during early access or after 1.0 release. Every single video has made me more and more excited with what has been shown, I legit can’t with this game anymore, the excitement is killing me. 😂 Also about what you said in the beginning. I think Raf should give the option eventually to choose between the 05s, the backup models or a mix of both. As that would satisfy everyone.

I don't think the aliens will have prox chat with humans. Or if we do, all the humans will hear from the aliens is alien mumbo-jumbo. So like, the alien players can understand eachother as normal, but when mic-input is detected the in-game audio plays alien sounds (from the humans perspective)? Something like that xD
The og Tripod designs are definetly better, they are more subtle and keep more of that actually alive look. That being said, for a backup design, its certainly one of the best offshoots of the 2005 design I've seen and it does look really cool, but if they don't face any copyright issues, I'd definetly want them to stick with the OGs.

So what I think is the numbers at the bottom of the screen when you are a tripod are the tentacles cause I noticed when someone was being picked up one of the numbers would go dim so I think you have nine tentacles and that’s what the numbers are

To be honest, if they Raf gets copyright and has to use back up tripods, I don't think we would notice the difference. Cuz we won't focus on how bad it is, we will focus on how good it is. and we would probs just see the back up tripods as an uber pod
I love both designs so I'll be happy with either. Hope we get to use both though.

one of my biggest worries about the tripod gameplay is that I fear the gameplay loop wiil only be fun for the first five minutes before you start getting bored. That's not to say that the gameplay of the Tripod is inheritenly boring, the gameplay mechanics looks very fun, I just hope that they will give Tripods some sort of objective so that it doesn't feel bland after the hit of dopamine.
Yeah that’s kind of what happened in the Roblox game, only interesting thing was the military versus the tripods but it gets repetitive. I’d say the only way to really make it interesting is to play as the military defending a base against a few tripod players, but I can for sure see the hide and seek stuff getting boring asf.
Yeah I see the concern here. Which is why I've been pushing for there to be a lot of variables. If all you have to do is sit in a basement for days, yeah this game is doomed. After talking with Raf, it sounds like the tripods will have more clear objectives than just annihilation. Really hoping the humans do too. Or at least if it's just survival, it's super interesting and engaging. There was talk of classes, that could help. Also some sort of progression would help.

I was thinking maybe the tripods could win by a mix of a certain amount of kills and spreading enough red weed that it would possibly in some way kill the microbes that would hurt them? Idk if you could explain it that way but then it would give you a reason to keep spreading the red weed, and maybe you could also use it to heal yourself if you get out of the tripod and also repair the tripod somehow, again no idea how to explain that but just some thoughts.
I like the creative thoughts! It's possible things like this that could make the game more interesting.

There's supposed to be sandbox mode. Potentially you'll be able to toggle such settings there.

I actually think the car pushing was not my favourite, I think it would be better if our Martian bros can blow up cars and they never out of spot when blasted.

I dont know, without saying names, the dev is way to confident. People are basically paying over $100 to play a beta, then he has too many risks in releasing it. Its been far too long already, its going to take another couple years and it still wont be polished. IF the game fails everyones money is gone, and mr dev runs off with the money and has a holiday or becomes a firefighter. The UI looks like its straight out of the 2000s era, the amount of strain it has on high end PCs already is questionable even after the last couple years of development and loading distances are whacked out. The town is boxy, might as well have developed it in Roblox. AI dont even look remotely worried that the tripods are on earth. Guess we will see what happens, its been 2 years. Lets see what the next 5 years holds.
I did cover some of these concerns a while back in this video: kzhead.info/sun/qq2sZsWmenZmhpE/bejne.html I don't disagree that $100 is an extremely steep and risky price for people to spend, or that it will take time for this thing to be polished up, or that there should be better AI, performance, destruction or render distance. There are some hardcore WOTW fans out there who are dropping that kind of cash, hopefully, Raf does right by those people and doesn't give up or run out of time. I found it when it was more of a passion project but the bar has been raised substantially since the closed testing price was introduced. @@voidboi0yeah people are saying there's not much to do but run hide and find supplies it's repetitive i can't blame them but they gotta understand raf has scarce workers there's just so much to work on for 1 or two people each update brings new bug problems not only that but he still has to work on the uberpods and snake probs for these new models aswell as optimizing and fixing frame drops and many more people are also complaining it's taking to long to release well if he does release it right now it'll be a disaster I mean look at what happened to the walking dead destines they're now shutting it down because It got bombarded with alot lot of hate for having so many problems and lazy cutscenes it was released too early so I wasn't surprised it became a flop the voice acting was not good had clumsy mechanics so it died the day it was born. yeah raf is playing it safe and I respect that
