I can remember this match. I've never seen such consistent hard hitting from any player ever. Rossol was on total fire.
Spot on, I remember watching in disbelief at how hard he was hitting the ball, it was unreal.
risky flat shots for me, risky play
@@phat_tok806 me to I was like 11 year old and I was like wtf this is impossible this guy is on roids!!
@@phat_tok806 Bolelli and Rosol are the two players who can play like this
It was one heck of a match, but the Hewett and Karovic match of 2002 had hitting just as hard from Dr. Ivo. Hewett was the defending champion and played Dr. Ivo in the first round. Talk about a nightmare! Lost in five sets as well.
This is grass. Big hitters can catch a great day and cause an upset. This is why Federer's 8 Wimbledon titles is such an amazing achievement.
10sBalls123 so where’s Del Potro’s 8 wimbys? Milos Raonic? Terrible argument.
@10sBalls123 excuses its still very difficult
Completely agree mate. Even Fed has been upset by big hitters like Berdych, Tsonga, Berdych and Anderson. But his overall consistency is so admirable. Never forget that Nadal didn't make Wimbledon QF's 2012-2017 (he was in his mid-late 20's so arguably his prime). Even Federer made the Quarters at the French at ages 34 and 37 (losing to the eventual winners both times - Stan and rafa). Federer is far more consistent than Rafa overall.
@@LennyTurner Fed is much more versatile. Just look at the distribution of their slams - Roger has 6/1/8/5, Rafa 1/12/2/3. That's 30% of Roger's slams AO, 5% RG, 40% Wimbledon, 25% US. Rafa has ~5.5% AO, ~66% RG, ~11% Wimbledon, ~17% US.
@@ProGamer___ Nobody said it was easy mate
I love watching the underdog just swinging freely because he's got nothing to lose. On this day everything clicked for Rosol. There was no stopping it.
This is the best closeout I've literally ever seen. FOUR winners to close the match!
I've never seen another player play so relaxed while closing out a match. He just acted like he was playing a club match.
His body language was pure adrenaline last 10minutes.
@@sumnahlennon4516 Eh, prime Serena did that all the time. Lol
Why Wimbledon is most prestigious tournament who made it prestigious and oldest tournament If it is that prestigious and biggest the officials should keep it 1 month after Clay court season for sure so that everybody gets chance to play it fully fit and healthy actually. Djokovic is unrivalled at Wimbledon because the players will be tired and exhausted after clay court season. Djokovic would win it easily against anybody as he is best at adapting to surface quickly then Nadal and other players. It should be fair for 1. Clay court players 2. Hard court players 3. Grass court players Wimbledon became landmark of Djokovic actually he is unbeatable and unrivalled at Wimbledon. It looks like Wimbledon is created for Djokovic only. I am extremely confident if they don't increase to 1 month Djokovic will win 3 to 4 Wimbledon titles for sure from 2023 to 2026. Young players are good hard and Clay court players but not good grass court players for sure they are not able to adapt to grass quickly. It should be held every 4 weeks and decrease 1 week for US Open simple Djokovic shall see tough competition at Wimbledon for sure Tennis season will be balanced for sure Sorry 2 to 3 weeks is joke if people call it oldest and prestigious tournament for sure. Just give 4 Wimbledon titles to Djokovic from 2023 to 2026 simple The fight Federer,Nadal and Murray gives to Djokovic at Wimbledon no other player can give to Djokovic. 2021 and 2022 Wimbledon was boring and not fun like 2018 and 2019 Wimbledon for sure 2021 Wimbledon was held 2 weeks after French open because of Olympics actually Djokovic is 7 time Wimbledon champion due to lack of rivals at Wimbledon as young players failed to excell at grass no serious threat to Djokovic at Wimbledon. Federer is old and injured Nadal still developing on grass actually Murray is struggling with hip injury. Djokovic is unrivalled at Wimbledon. Berettini and Felix didn't reach the level to beat Nadal and Djokovic at Wimbledon in 5 set matches. If Nadal loses 1 set again he will bounce back and win next set due to his mental strength and physical strength 3 weeks is working well for Nadal Young players need 1 month recovery after French open simple or these two players will keep winning Wimbledon Titles only Nadal didn't reach the level of Djokovic to beat him at Wimbledon. Max he could reach semifinals or finals but not strong enough to win Wimbledon title because of Djokovic
Berettini didn't reach the level of Nadal at Wimbledon. And Nadal didn't reach the level of Djokovic at Wimbledon simple.
1:27 The Wimbledon camera man has such a sense of humour. Respect.
And Rosol never played like that again.
@cms 95 ytb excuses excuses that's all no credit to opponents?
cms 95 ytb 2012 was actually a very good season aside from his Injury. Final at AO, won Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Rome and RG. That’s not even close to being his worst season.
Stuart Sinclair Rosol absolutely played better than Nadal. It’s just weird that he couldn’t follow it up.
Rafa's worst seasons are 2015 and 2016. He just got outplayed right here
Guy just had the game/day of his life, sometimes it happens. He’s an accomplished doubles player!
I like to revisit this match every year. I'll never forget how Rosol played that day. Sometimes the stars align, everything goes your way and there is nothing the other guy can do.
Nadal picking up Rosol's raquet at the end and giving it to him was just pure class
One of my favourite ever Tennis memories.
How is that class? More like submitting in disgrace
@@bryanmartin5901 it's a class act something lucas dosent have.
Nadal was still a bad loser.

I will never forget this match....
FINALLY A VIDEO OF THIS IS ON KZhead! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR FREAKING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad I had a picture taken with Rosol back in 2013. Nice to meet him in person
More of the young guys should carry rosol's attitude on court. Determined & confident & most importantly unshaken of the opponent no matter decorated he is
Arrogant and childish too
Nick Kyrgios does for sure
Been waiting for this!!!
I still love Rosol because of that match.
Me, too!
He has had a great career ! So many titles
@ARKN06 what were u saying about waste in 2019?
Best match in his career
I love this Nadal upset maybe the most, Rosol completely in the zone, hitting unbelievable shots from everywhere
One of the most exciting match I have watched... the atmosphere was just insane...
On that day he saved Federer from Nadal in finals for sure actually Nadal got into head of Federer since 2008 actually he can hurt Federer again for sure in grass actually Djokovic is not playing great like 2011 so he is beatable for sure in 2012 Wimbledon Rafael Nadal is finished in 2013 at Wimbledon actually.
GOATSOL
I've always thought the best way to beat Nadal is hit it right to him, not away from him.
I've never seen Nadal hitting so many aces in one match
I was impressed with that too
his serves the season prior and afterwards saw some of nadal’s best serves
He was consistent in those years as 2011 he reached finals and lost to Djokovic in 4 sets. He was in top form in those years which was broken by Rosol in 2nd round.
He mastered it to used against Federer,Djokovic and Murray.
Great match from Rosol!
Rosol the god of tennis who stood up against tyranny
Ryan Sodhi Funny definition of tyranny ;)
Best match ever
Insane shots 💪
The hitting zone is lower at Wimbledon. It limits the player. Just like in the tennis club for weekend players, when they are faced with different brands of balls, their timing goes off affecting their confidence to hit shots
Excelent victory.
This is gonna evoke *some* reaction lol
Rosol is a good player, quite talented.
Nadal was rosoled ! New word in tennis .
A hybrid of rustled and jostled.
Rosol means "eraser" in Czech. So Nadal got erased :P
@@casey4664 true he used to be best in grass court surface from 2006 to 2011. Rosol erase him from tennis history of Wimbledon actually in 2012.
*The best player won! Period.*
Yes and Nadal has beaten Rosol 4 times in a row since this match. Nadal is the better player out of the 2, period.
Yeah, MKD, he won only once and was quickly forgotten. A blip on the television screen.
@@Mahatheyew so Davydenko GOAT. I mean yes Nikolai Davydenko is the 🐐 so that's fair. Davydenko >>>>>>>>> Nadal. Thanks for cementing this fact.
@5:45 "Huh! Irresistible!!"... sharp video editor finds one in the crowd. Well played :p
Nadal always struggled at Wimbledon post 2011 Finals. His style of play had put enormous pressure on his knees till 2012 RG and post that he never actually played well at Wimbledon. But kudos to him how he came back in 2018 and 2019 after embarrassing early exits from 2012-2017 in Wimbledon He got the second AO this year, hope he gets his 3rd Wimbledon too.
Wait he played great in 4th round against Muller who was seeded player actually He lost to Cilic in 5 sets quarter finals actually
5th set BEAST
Please make the Federer Vs Benneteau 3rd Round match video
16:05 what on earth was that approach shot 😧
Rosol outhit nadal but it can be said that rafa didn't generate the kind of depth that would prevent that (which he has done plenty of times just not that day) and this approach is a good example. Power without depth doesn't work against a player playing like that
Hello to Lukas’ grandchildren who are watching this with him in 2050!
Rosol power insane
even in highlights Nadal is too slow between points to make this watchable.
Nadal was withstanding some surface to surface missiles in this match
They both deserve each other. Such classless ppl with their gamesmanship
I recall this match, No doubt Rosol was in the zone...as he went on to lose his third round match against Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets. In 2014 Nadal beat him twice, once in Dora and again at Wimbledon.
This is what happens when a player red-lines for a whole match. Bravo
Well done Lord Rosol :)
well done
That was a good day for tennis
yeaaah just like this one kzhead.info/sun/opeRcrqPcHp8dYU/bejne.html
Comparing GOAT with one surface bully? Nice.
So much so that he cant get past the 4th round in last.....6 years. Ohh yes.
dmh091 Nadal only had 5 good years at Wimbledon He has reached one sf in the last 7 years at Wimbledon between the age of 25-32. Fed reached 3 finals in between that age and won one (2008, 2009, 2011). Fed had competition in this period from Nadal, Djokovic, Soderling and Tsonga. Nadal had competion from Darcis, Rosol, Brown, Kyrgios and Muller. And then Nadal fans say Fed beat nobodies in his finals. Nadal actually was beaten by nobodies in r2, 3 and 4😂
Aman And Federer keeps on skipping French open due to Nadal 😂😂🤣🤣
It was a shocker indeed. And Roger certainly studied Rosol game to perform against Rafa on the AO17 final.
Nadal hasn't beaten Federer since Jan 2014, hasn't even been good enough or willing to play him on grass for years, or Federer would have thrashed him with no need for studying Rosol at all.
Nadal dominates Federer 9-3 in Grand Slams (including 4-3 outside clay). That is, Nadal has won 75% of his GS matches against Federer. In addition, Nadal leads overall on clay and outdoor hard courts the H2H.
defending USO champ is claydal? stfu idiot
ElSpewtardo Good point. Anti-clayderer fans are dellusional.
mizofan And Nadal would have thrashed him in the 1st round of every French Open...... But alas Federer is such a coward that he even skips French open nowadays 😂😂
2012: rosol 2R 2013: darcis 1R 2014: kyrgios 4R 2015: brown 2R 2016: did not play 2017: muller 4R who will 'surprisingly' take down rafa this year? I go with shapovalov
Sebastián Alfonso Núñez Jara yeah!
At least we know that Rafa as a top player has enough respect for the game and fans of the game to not skip any slam just because he finds it difficult to play there now. Can't say that about Feder... I mean certain other players.
and he always seems to lose them with an ace on match point..except for Muller
Serena is the B.O.A.T Nadal ¿ 2012: skipped USO 2013: skipped AO 2014: skipped USO 2016: skipped wimbledon Yh yh federer is a chicken :P
He skipped because of injury. He never skips a tournament without injury like federer is doing now.
Rosol was on fire, no one could've stopped him that day. Nadal was the unlucky victim.
Agreed.
Bullshit Federer and Djokovic would’ve beat him
Most champions 'find a way' to beat their opponents - the Spaniard was completely nonplussed by Rosol and had to resort to shoulder-charging him at a changeover. Nadal not very good at figuring out how to win against tricky opponents without help from his box.
@@ertugrulkorpinar51 good joke those 3 players will lose to Rafael Nadal for sure Djokovic is not in Nadal head like 2011 Djokovic is not playing like 2011. Federer is struggling against Nadal on 3 surfaces actually
Those 3 players have mental block against Nadal at Wimbledon for sure Djokovic is not playing like 2011 Federer is playing bad actually. Murray always lose to Nadal at Wimbledon. Rosol saved those three players.
Federer Vs Djokovic Wimbledon 2012
Playing indoors is czech heaven.
If Rosol played like this he could beat Sampras, Djokovic, Roddick etc
Not Sampras his serve was hard to return especially second serve
@@dewman7477 exactly
@@dewman7477 but federer managed to defeat him in 2001
Rosol is one of the few who treated buttdal the exact way he should be treated.
Wtf
Last game is like Boom.
👏👏👏 Lukas Rosol
Did it just rain or a very humid day? Courts played fast with bad bounces .. Rosol serves like Ivanesivic .. great motion
Rosol, godmode: on
Incredibil
Since 2011 Nadal has not got past the 4th round of Wimbledon and has only once managed to win 4 consecutive grass matches. In his career he has only won 3 indoor tournaments, with 0 world tour finals (2nd in importance to slams), since 1972 alone 5 players have spent a lot longer as world #1, yet some claim he's the goat overall, not just on clay!. Federer 23 consecutive slam semis, Nadal 5.
2 Wimbledon titles >>>> 1 Roland Garros title. Federer never defeated Nadal at Roland Garros while Nadal defeated Federer at Wimbledon. Nadal on grass is better than Federer on clay.
Marcos Villavicencio That's a very poor analysis.
Nadal is the greatest... Clay Court player of all time.
Phat_ tok Nadal will be both the clay GOAT and the overall GOAT if he surpasses Federer's Grand Slam record.
Marcos Villavicencio If he surpasses his record then tht will certainly be a case for him but if he does it primarily by just winning FO titles then that will be an Asterisk for me, my opinion.
Rosol seems like play the game of his life here.
The Czech is good.
Then they say nadal was was at his peak in 2012 when he will end up losing against low rank seed in wimbledon since 2012-2017 while he went to 2006 and 2006 wimbledon finals and won it in 2008 and 2010, federer clearly face and beat the best version of nadal from 2005-2010 the lightning fast nadal who was flying all over the court and can return any type of shot even prime rogers best shot and roger face and beat that best version unlike the bulky injury prone nadal
Came here because I wanted to see how Rosol, Brown and Krygios defeated Nadal. Today can Krygios repeat the feat?. Very exited for the match tonight, infact more exited than the final and it's only because of unpredictability and antics of Krygios and the shadow war they are indulging for past year, suddenly tennis has boxing kind of atmosphere.
Thinking how many these Rosols and Chungs are out there...
One of my fav matches ever! I cannot thank Rosol enough for stopping the Spanish sack of steroids.
theres something about the guys who take out Nadal in early rounds, because it's rare that Nadal actually plays badly in these matches. Sure, Roger has occasionally gone out early in Wimbledon but it's been a bad day. Here, Nadal was *good*. Rosol was just off the charts. Same with a younger Kyrgios a couple years later.
Nadal was playing his average tennis at best, he also lost playing crap tennis to Darcis in 2013 and in 2015 to Brown to Pouille in 2016 US Open and Fognini 2015 US oPEN when he was two sets up and against Verdasco at the Australian open... The only matches in Wimbledon when he lost playing at a decent level were vs Kyrgios in 2014 and vs Muller in 2017, a match up anyone would have lost including Federer.
Nadal didn't play a single match for the rest of 2012 after this loss. He was injured and had surgery.
Federer,Djokovic and Andy Murray reached quarter finals,Semi finals and finals Rafael Nadal is struggling to reach Quarter finals in 2012 to 2017.
and the moment when Nadal keep with his shouldet to Rosol? in what minute is?
Grass favors streaky players. Aa expected, Rosol came back down to earth and lost in 3 via next round
what a waste of an upset
1:25 nice
Remembering this to this day.Rosol was amazing, Nadal looked like he was playing football or something
They missed most of Rosol's best shots
Bravo Lukas. Et toujours avec le sourire le Nadalos????
Rosol goes god mode
Tanta chuleria y nin gano el torneo!
Rosol, my hero !!!
1:01 isn’t that Kukushkin
He said he just try not to get 3 : 0
Nadal cannot lose. That's why Federer has class.
1:02 Slava Dosedel? this is Mikhail Kukushkin
I believe Ctislav Dosedel was indeed Rosol's coach, so perhaps just a visual-audio slip up.
TearTheRoofOff yep he was there, further to the right, but not visible in this picture
1:00 Gotcha ! I knew Roger had a hidden twin brother
Rafa looks slow and heavy here, heavy with muscle. His preferred physique is very well suited for clay where power is needed, but here he looks as nimble as bamby (not nimble at all). Its amazing because he moves really well on clay, even better than Federer. But Federer is a way better mover on grass.
@GTS dream fedtards
@GTS frauderer please go to sleep
Rosol might have made a statement that tennis wasn't just confined to just a few winning anything and everything, but he really rubbed people the wrong way with this statement
did they shake hands twice,?!
Didn’t show any of the best points ☹️
Don't feel too bad Nadal, no one could've beaten Rosol in that 5th set.
in the break of the fifth set the ball was short and in the middle of the court and nadal put it right on the middle on the hands of rosol. really bad play by him.
A nervous play, just like the double fault to give the first break. Even the best are human
Definitely one of Nadal's more embarrassing losses. Granted he was probably injured here, but still. Rosol on the other hand played his best match ever.
is Nadal injured anytime he loses? If he was injured, he shouldn't have started at all, if he got injured during the match in a way that doesn't allow him to play his best and win, he should've scratched. I'm tired of people constantly making excuses for an injury when Nadal loses. It needs a heavy hitter who will put pressure on every ball. Few players have balls for that. Rosol could do that because he had nothing to lose.
This is why Nadal's fanbase is a laughing stock. Yeah, Rafa never loses unless he's injuried, right. I guess he was badly injuried against Brown as well? :)
Always the “injury” excuse. Pathetic.
@@geuros stop whining it is his choice to play or not if injury is serious he will retire from the match for sure.
The day rafa bumped his head 😬
Rosol destruyendo a un mal perdedor porque no acepta que el rival lo derrotó en igualdad de condiciones.
How fast was that last serve?!
probably between 125-130 mph
Question is....Where is Rosol? Yes, I know he plays challengers, but for real, where is he? His game I'm talking about.
What was Nadal arguing about?
Kukushkin stayed Rosol’s box ?
Love it when keyboard lovers are making fun of the 2-time Wimbledon champ 😂😂
WOW 2 time wimbledon champ, what an achievement.
Thomas brunkle It's DEFINITELY an achievement, stupid boy 😂
who since 2011 hasn't got past the 4th round of Wimbledon and only once managed 4 consecutive grass match wins. How did he win Wimbledon? slowed court and maybe dodgy Dr Fuentes knows the rest.

I can understand that grass is a tricky surface. I can understand also that Nadal isnt a natural fast court player. What really I cannot understand is How he made 5 consecutive finals there and after that only shocking losses except for last year. I mean, its like 8 years since his last good tournament.
