I share my experience using both webcams and show the quality you can get and break down how they compare.
Both have strengths and differences that give you a different look and feel.

  • The detail on the Logitech is clearly a winner. Find a way to do some color adjust on it in software and it's the winner. Same test with Facecam Pro (hard to find now), and I bet the Elgato is unmatched.

Honestly, they are both good and the Logitech is sleek. Even though the Elgato is only 1080p I really liked the look for me. Regardless, which one you get, spend the time to use the software to dial in the look you are happy with. Hope that helps my friend!

  • Thanks for this review, I'm similar skinned tone and honestly Logitech Brio looks better in my opinion. El Gato seems to add a dark and sephia tone filter that seems to flatter extremely pale peach looking skin tones, but not tones like mine. I almost made the mistake of buying it as I was seeing how it flattered people but have searched same cam with more olive skinned content creators and definitely the logitech brio looks better.

    • Hey Manuel Rojo!!! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!! Yeah, I can see that in my video and even more so when I was doing the video that the Logitech Brio was pretty impressive. The overall look is subjective, but when you have to webcam's like this, you really can't go wrong with either. Personally, I like the Elgato software more than Logitech's which was another reason I leaned more so to the Elgato.

  • Sorry I like built in mic and zoom capabilities. I had elgato face cam work okay but felt limited so returned it . I’m using my Sony camera A7iii which works great but also ties it to computer. Yes tweaking out of box just light a camera is preferred 😊

    • Hey John Guthrie! That is awesome! I also prefer a camera and with the cost, you pay if you have one like the A7iii, might as well get the most out of it and will always be better than an over the counter webcam today, in my opinion :)

  • I prefer Logitech pro and the legato was very dark in image as well as zoom capability

    • No filter from the camera. Slight colour correct in post, I made an effort not to touch what came out of the camera webcams. Hope that helps. Honestly, your lighting will make a difference. In my scenario I have no windows in my office, and had a key light to give a little bit of context.

    • I would say the biggest difference is the size of his head, Elgato made him look thinner

  • The elgato has more detail, but the Logitech has a more flattering image. I’m watching in sRGB on an HD display. Set the Brio to 4k let software reduce it to 1080. Increase the sharpness of the Brio in software. The elgato has kind of an old camcorder look, not really a DSLR look imo

  • Elgato looks more filmic, plus the uncompressed data stream seems less jittery than the logitech

  • Honestly, assuming you are on a Windows machine, I'd get the logitech any day JUST for the Windows Hello feature alone.

    • Hi Anneke de Bruyn! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! I actually am a Apple Guy and used these on a Mac Mini M1. That isn’t a feature I can utilize. That being said that is a good point!! Love it!! Yes, when you can use your camera to get into your computer, that is a convenience factor that May out weigh the overall reason to get one over the other. Thanks again!!
