Thanks for the comparison video. I prefer the Facecam. When you use Elgato's software, it makes a huge difference in quality. Also, the Facecam has the ability to save your settings. All you have to do is tweak it once and save it. It is saved to the camera. You can unplug it, move it to a different computer and the settings you configured will become your default settings.
Thanks for the tip. Someone else mentioned elgato has software... You'd think they would mention that somewhere in the instructions, but they didn't...

You clearly put a lot of work into this video, it was nicely detailed and really helped show the difference between them. I just recently started streaming and I've been using an older Logitech C922 that I picked up years ago for school. Honestly the image quality I'm seeing in OBS and on the live stream is still pretty good but I've been researching upgrade options for down the line so this video was very helpful! I think my personal preference would be the Brio in 4k but the Elgato still looks pretty good and I don't think you can really go wrong with either choice.

Awesome job 👏 I’ve been working from home past couple of years and doing a lot of video meetings (ie Teams, Zoom, etc…). I’m a camera enthusiast….and use my Canon R along with a Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art lens for most of my calls (along with some lights….two soft boxes). I use Camlink…excellent results.. I always get comments on how great the video looks. But…this is my setup when at home! I’m looking for something when I travel…or…when I just don’t want to go through the trouble of setting my my DSLR on a tripod, ect, ect…. I like the look of the Elgato Facecam over the Brio. I think I might pick this up! Thanks again:)
You have an R too?! Haha yeah I have gotten a lot of comments about how good my camera is when I stream on twitch. I use the kit lens which I think is 24-105 or 24-70. I did a video comparing the camlink to a couple cheap capture cards and I actually stuck with the cheap one! I didn't see any improvement by using the camlink that justified the price difference

Great video. Really great. I think the ElGato looked as good as the Canon by the time you finished tweaking it. ...and it is so much cheaper. The most important thing is to protect the cable by mounting the unit to a fixed mount that does not move and so the cable is not stressed. These are not like buying a $30 webcam, and even with those, you want them to last, and it is always the cable that breaks, where it enters the camera body.

Yeah I've got a friend who has both these cameras and he uses them on his stream and I swear they look better than the ones I got. I just couldn't get them to look decent

If colour correction cannot be applied to the camera, perhaps Logitech Brio may be the better choice. I currently have a Logitech Brio and the sharpness is quite good and colour correction is not necessary.

Nice video - the Logitech Brio also has Windows Hello capability - I got one and it's pretty cool to just unlock your PC by sitting in front of it

@@NickBorsellino Yeah, one of the camera's on the unit is an IR one - next to the main lens. Also, The Logitech software permits you to change the viewing angle. You need a LOT of good light for the 4k 30fps and it requires a special USBC cable if you need extra length. Brio is good, though. I use it in my IT company videos with a green screen. It works best at 1080p, 60fps. Software also uses a tech called "TrueTone" which is good. Also important to do the Logitech firmware updates.

i am guessing it's digital done in software but i don't know for sure
@@NickBorsellino hmmm strange. I would imagine software could zoom infinitely, but with pixelation. Not sure why a zoom that pixelates would be a feature. In any case, I already ordered it, so I'll see soon

Elgato Facecam right now is $149 on Amazon and the Brio 4k is $109 on Amazon.
Hi, thanks for the video. Can you tell something about the sharpness? In theory (thinking about hardware) Facecam must be better. But, the one BIG fault in (almost) all webcams is that you can't touch the hue and that, is the reason because you can't match the colors. Auto white balance works with temperature and hue (its obvius) and this cause we are dependants on how god auto balance is... I see reviews where the Brio smashed the Facecam and others is the contrary... In sharpness and in colors... Little confusing... But i think is mostly due units variability (like in photographic lenses jejeje) and due the nature, characteristics, of the light in the room. By the way, two things: -In the Facecam app you can change shutterspeed and iso. Big advantage here. -In the Brio you can change change field of view (not digital zoom), and this is one of the big selling points.
thanks for the input! I found the facecam to be sharper for sure, but still left me wanting more for the price. I'm not a super techy pro i was just comparing the two cameras and I really didn't like either of them enough to keep one. You might want to look into the logitech stream cam. I have a friend who owns the brio, facecam, and streamcam, and i like the streamcam's look the best
I think the Logitech with the softer look's better. The sound on the Logitech sounds louder but sound's like you have a cold.
The Brio has better vertical lines that are consistently parallel from the left to the right side of your room. The elgato has a fish eye effect. This is a difference in the lens optics. Thank you for your review.

Hello! I run a small food blog on KZhead and shoot videos on a Sony a7c camera. But I want to shoot with two cameras at the same time so that my videos are more interesting. I want to buy a Logitech Brio to use as a second camera, but I'm afraid that the quality of the lens will not produce a juicy, good picture, such as my Sony a7c produces. I enjoyed watching your review of two webcams and thank you for the test, thank you for your work, like it! Although I still doubt whether or not to buy the Logitech Brio.

ahhhh. i can't remember but I feel like they didn't come with instructions and I keep hearing about more features from people about both these cameras. The companies need to do better with telling people everything these can do
You have to use the software for the facecam. Using external filters is not a replacement for on camera settings. All you're doing is distorting an already poorly set up image.

yeahhhhhhhhhhhh the canon r is like 2 grand, then pair it with a capture card and a $200 mic and you've got a very expensive setup...

I’ve got the Elgato FaceCam. It worked great the first time I used it and has never worked again. It lags, jumps and freezes and crashes and won’t respond unless I restart my laptop-which is only a year old-so Elgato FaceCam is pretty much useless to me

looks like the Logitech has the better over all quality. IF you were to pause and zoom in. The Elgato looks maybe deeper richer colors.

it really is amazing! lol. My other camera which I didn't use for this video but is in some of my older ones, is a canon m50
IMO the quality to cost ratio is far better with Elgato than with a Canon. But if you need to max out the quality of your videos you probably should go with Canon.

Both of the webcams have software which makes this is a bad comparison if you are comparing there true limits and functions. Furthermore, this seems much more complicated than either of the softwares and gives the user much less control over picture quality.
I wish that either of them told you there was software for them. You'd think they would want you to know that.....
Don't Legato make a 4K version,obviously more expensive..must have come out in the last year...they really need to address the heat issue with the Logitech...when you buy it you get warned about the heat...not good...shame as was interested but had a rechargeable XBox battery that overheated & damaged my leather sofa,it burst into flames...just as well i was their at the time or my house could have burned down....official Microsoft gear as well....dodgy anything getting that hot..bad design by poor engineering..would rather pay $50 more for a decent 4k camera that is safer
Got the brio because I need autofocus for online exams to show my ID and stuff. Elgato doesn't have autofocus.

this thing is utterly useless… the movie is 720p, so how on earth can we judge the quality of the movies the cams produced… and not taking the step to use the vendor’s software makes this an even more useless exercise
