I bought a crash damaged Mclaren 720s from Amsterdam but after it was delivered back to the UK i found some serious damage on the carbon tub that mclaren repair specialist wont touch. As i had spent so much on the car i was desperate to get it back on the road so i called Mclaren for help.

  • V-Tuned in Tennessee did what you’re doing. He had a crashed 720S and swapped tubs he might be able to help you. It was a big job but he did it and ended up with a beautiful car. Good luck Mat!

    • Keeping it left hand drive will retain its value. That tub can easily be worked to convert to LHD. No brainer 👍🏼

  • Definitely upgrade them turbos. Looks like you’ve went big with this build. So don’t go small on the upgrades. Make this McLaren one of the best builds ever. I wanna hear it scream. And I wanna see it killing it on the track. You have a car with so much potential. GO BIG MAT!!!!

    • Do not upgrade the turbos or tune this engine. See what happened to Tavarish. The internals of these Mclaren engines will not withstand increased loads.

  • Hi Mat, you may not know it, but your channel is VERY therapeutic for people with mental health issues - in particular severe depression and forced loneliness. You take a visibly almost-impossible and terrible situation and fight through it, without giving up, until you have beaten it. It is very inspirational to the down-trodden. Your optimistic positive voice is also a source of company to many. I just wanted to make you aware of this side of your channel....

    • It's actually qiet dumb what he is doing. Paying that that much without even having a good look on a car before. But he grows his channel this way, ears loads of money with ads and in the end he sells the car through his "lottery" for way more than market price. So its win, win. He earns loads of money and we get awsome videos.

    • I knew Mat had this all sorted out before buying the car. He plans these builds so methodically, you can guarantee he had that tub secured before buying the Dutch Mclaren. The rest is theatrics for the sake of KZhead entertainment which builds the suspense, & it’s all brilliantly crafted &so watchable. Hats off to you guys!

I had the same type of relationship with my dad up until he died when I was 18, I am now 36 and still miss him and all the things I couldn’t share with him through my adult life. Appreciate all the time you have with your family. Keep up the good work Matt the channel is doing great and I enjoy watching every episode. 👍🏻

    • I literally just commented the same thing. These engines aren't known for their strong rods, bigger turbos would certainly place these rods in an uncomfortable position, especially with all the extra torque being produced.

  • Great content, I would definitely do the RHD swap seeing as though to tub is set up for that. All they LHD parts can be sold on to help pay for new parts. You all have such determination where most of us would throw the towel in.

  • Mat before you upgrade ANY performance parts like the turbo's I strongly advise to upgrade the cylinder rods, otherwise you'll end up with a blown engine like Tavarish ;-)

    • Yeah I just said the same thing - do not touch the turbos until the rods are upgraded. That Larini exhaust system is enough of an upgrade for now.

    • I think that's why most people don't do this. Dismantling and putting second hand parts back together is a bore. At least if the man could actually work on the engines, but he's literally just picking up cars which have been written off because uneconomical to repair and doing it himself. If he wants to lose time its his problem.

  • This is an incredible endeavor and it looks like you’re already blazing through it. That being said I wouldn’t upgrade the turbos, apparently finding the right pressure in these units is really finicky
