Here's the narrator text:
INTRO (before Wild North West)
Two bands shaped from the fjords and the far north.
Sognametal and Icelandic metal, together as one.
Vreid and Solstafir have travelled far and beyond, on parallell paths like two ships on open waters through storms and ancient winds.
Now their life cycles align, and sparks emerge like vulcanoes going wild.
Creating the sound you are about to hear!
1 The beginning (Ótta)
From the Land of the Ancient Giants
these finest and noblest of people,
descendents of the old Norse Gods,
who left for a better future and
created the myth of the Vikings.
In the Old Country we lived on,
while remaining brother and sisters,
cousins and friends.
We share the same mythology.
We share the same roots.
Our paths have never been far away.
2 Ancient Heroes (Dazed and Reduced)
Old heroes of ancient past
Grettir, Egil, Erik, Njål
and so many others more
We celebrate their tales and
relish their memories.
For in them we see ourselves
being stubborn as hell
fighting against all odds
always out for new adventures
and being poets in our own minds.
3 Our Danish overlords (Bláfjall)
Danish overlords took our fish,
they took our daughters and
tried to push us down.
We became two colonies for centuries on,
under the same Midnight Sun,
under the same Danish Kings.
We suffered and fought all we could,
and finally after winning our freedom
we know today what it means to be free.
We value our disobedience
and having sound minds of our own,
and we fiercely oppose
foreign rulers above our heads.
4 Snorri Sturluson (Arche)
Snorri was a man of great ability and fortitude.
He wrote down our tales of ancient past
of our distant heritage
of the largest of men
of the most important of roots.
Because of him, Norwegians and Icelanders alike know where we came from and what we’re made of. We will never forget our brothers and sisters, alive or dead. Our stories connect us together and to our ancient Heroes and Gods.
5 Modern Norwegians and Icelanders (Köld)
We came of age
and became strong,
equal and independent.
We grew in confidence
together and apart for decades
into the modern World.
We used to be peasants,
fishermen and farmers.
Now we are World travellers once again.
Now we are full of vitality once again.
It’s like we are born again,
smiling while remembering.
Strong and humble,
ready and able,
like true Vikings.
6 Great humourists (Sights of Old)
We have survived the terrors of Ragnarok
We have outlived Christendom
We’ve told the EU to fuck off back to the continent
And yet we are the kindest of peoples
Gentle and good,
sweet as honey,
the greatest of lovers
and the worst humourists.
Old and young,
humble and strong,
crazy and sane,
we are all the same.
We are all one.
7 Mythical connections (Fjara)
Our mythical world is
rich, alive and fantastic.
Elves and trolls continue to dwell among us
Our folklore and heathen past connect us.
In nature we find solitude, comfort
and breathing space.
It’s a wild world full of the unexplainable.
Jotuns, shapeshifters, witches and fairies
and mythical creatures of ancient past.
Our encounters with them are so many,
we’ll never escape our strong mythical bond.
We are one with them and
it’s a beautiful love story.
8 Crazy enough (Disciplined)
Now when we visit each other
“Skilurðu ekki hvað ég segi?”
We get drunk and feast together,
we laugh while fighting each other.
While clinging on to what once meant something,
a good sword arm
a great poem
a tough life
or nothing at all
9 Night time (Náttmál)
Winter time is eternal darkness to us.
It shapes us, molds us
into wicked creatures,
with stubborn features,
with dark souls.
In the lands of eternal darkness
when spring comes, we come out
of the scorched earth,
more dead than alive,
more empty than full.
Still we long to go back.
We celebrate the darkness
We celebrate doom
We celebrate our insignicant selves.
Like true nocturnal beings of the night,
we dwell - within ourselves.
10 Nature (Into the Mountains)
Nature bonds,
shapes and forms.
Nature calls
peoples of the wild.
We are the unruly
from the wild north.
We are honor bound with nature.
It’s inside us all,
inside our minds,
our past, present and future.
It’s in our veins,
connecting us.
Mountains call, Oceans call.
The fjords call us.
Mother Nature is all.

  • Not too much into the "Viking Metal" scene, but I will check it out. I prefer Wardruna and Heilung and the rest of the bands following in their footsteps over anything with modern instruments. But I still support!
