  • Most presidential speech he ever gave. I am convinced even as a Clinton supporter.

    @persesGaming@persesGaming7 жыл бұрын
    • One down, 30 million to go. I was not a supporter either. But after thinking about the brilliance behind what he has done. I personally find it very difficult not to respect him. It was like watching a 3 year girl old box Mike Tyson in his prime and actually win! Everybody was against him, well except the people. The Democraps always tend to forget about the people. The TKO is not there yet, but dammit, he is still fighting. And the knockout punch is coming soon.

    • You can generally tell who was in charge of one of his statements. The mess of a press conference was Trump himself. The ominous inauguration speach was Bannon. This speech (having only seen the beginning so far) sounds like Reince Prebus to me.

    • Morgan Magana All Presidents have speech writers, but when interviewed they universally talk about how they learn to write in the President's voice. This President speaks with 3 different voices, depending on whether the professional speech writers are being supervised by Bannon, Preibus, or Trump himself.

  • I voted for Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Then I voted for Donald Trump. This is the first time I've been actually excited about the president. I've never been so certain that he is the right choice and will bring true change.

    • He's one of us, and even more, he's not one of them. I've said it before and I'll say it again: it doesn't matter what ideas he has or what direction he wants to go. What matters is his ability to take action and get things done. Period. That is what draws us to him. I hate his hair, his show, and even his personality. But God I love his laser focused stubborn sensibilities.

As they say in Boston: 'them that gives, gets', and this President hasn't offered anything beyond easily dis-proven lies, needless disruption to our neighbors and families, endless antagonism towards our friends, and comfort to our enemies. Stony silence from Congress and reversal by the Courts is the very least he should expect to receive for all that.

    • Hmm. Well I suppose the numerous times his opponents have been poisoned had NOTHING to do with him. Suuuure. The left hates Putin because of his dubious humanitarian stances (gays, immigrants, etc.). The right should dislike him because he will stab you in the back in a moment.

    • "Opponents poisoned", "dubious humanitarian stances".... you sound like the mainstream media that hates Putin simply because he doesn't dance to the tune of Washington and enjoys the overwhelming support of his own people. Give me facts, not your wishful thinking.

It would be nice if the sitting President of the United States actually looked out for Americans, but that's not the kind of person who won.

      @themisbabalis@themisbabalis7 жыл бұрын
    • 1) There's nothing wrong with the past and old way of doing things. 2) He uses Twitter all the time, and sometimes he gets his message across, but other times, he comes across as petty. Personally, I don't think he needs to justify anything. But he feels like he has to...like most business men, they want to reassure investors. But in this case, he's in charge. And if I were him, I would completely ignore the BS from media. All he needs to do is stay focus!

Democrat or Republican, we need members of congress willing to stand for what they, and their constituents [all constituents, not just those that voted them] believe in and value, not blindly follow the party-line.

  • I'm an American, who has lived 35 years in Germany. Former military officer and writer. Considering all the negative press that Trump has gotten across the board in Germany and Europe, I was expecting something completely different from him. This was an amazing speech -- the best I have ever heard from an American president. I'm certain that an American president would never stand in front of congress and tell lies that could bring him down. It is clear that his motives are pure and that he truly does want to see America become what I remember from my youth. I hope that he is able to carry through on his promises and that he is viewed differently here in Germany than he was during his presidential campaign. If so, he will be the greatest president America has had in many decades.
