Why is it that most people who drive these types of trucks, seem to think they're in a sports car and drive 100mph everywhere?

I guess its the (false) feeling of security, you have a big car, sit high, the drive train is super relaxed, you dont feel anything in the steering and are very de-connected from the road anyways. makes many people drive way faster than they should.

From what I've read, it's Ford Ranger. 10AT from Ford / GM, V6 3.0d from Ford, only interior and exterior are different

weight awd tyres ride height all of this make it slower. it has good torque for off road but its not a drag car

The Ranger Wildtrak is available with the same V6 with 240 ps. To achieve the specified 0-100 time, the gearbox must not be brake tourqed, since it can´t sort the many gears in this situation. You can see that in the drag race of the carwow youtube channel.

I have a new generation of Ford Ranger in Brazil. (Same powertrain as tested) My best time with Dragy comes when I put the traction control completely off In 2H and start the launch from a 2nd gear. Obviously it’s a personal test and my Ranger have a 17 inch wheels But in that conditions I have a valid 7.9s to 100kph and 9.91s on the 1/8! Tks Always a great video

In the 0 to 100 tests it sounds almost like it is hiccupping or slipping between gear changes after getting up to speed a little. The old German V6 engine and gearbox would do so much better. I don't understand why VW needed Ford for the Amarok when the previous one was so good. There was never a time when an American could make a car better than the Germans so what the hell VW.
It's gonna be a failure just like Mercedes X class which was a rebadged Nissan. Looks like VW wants to learn the lesson the hard way.

@@earlesherman2385 wrong !!! - The Volkswagen Amarok does not use a DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) transmission. Instead, it utilizes an 8-speed ZF-designed automatic transmission [1, 2]. [As per Internet] - I have a VW car with DSG and will now not drive any other auto box - the DSG is so smooth and quiet and performs superbly and best is it is nearly always in the correct gear.

It's not that bad, I think the aventura can do better in terms of speed since its more road focused compared to the pan americana.. The old Highline extreme with 190kw and 580 NM will smoke both the aventura and panamericana, there's just something that the vw has done with the previous vw amarok v6 specifically Highline extreme model. Yet I don't think it's a bad collab between ford and amarok, but honestly speaking the old v6 just does the work done 😂😂
I really, want the Highline too they're getting cheaper in SA, you know the drill that one moves

Dodge ram has the same limiter at 190kph. I wouldn't prefer a pick up truck over a sedan and station wagon in Europe
Fragwürdig im Vergleich zu den Vorgänger V6. Dann besser noch den kleinen V6 mit 204PS und Software oben drauf. Es sei denn man braucht unbedingt immer das neueste Modell.
Grund ist, man muss die Euro 6 Abgasnormen erreichen. Da sind die Hersteller stark eingeschränkt.

Bad move VW…that engine has well known design faults (crank) and top end issues. Your vag 3.0tdi has timing chain issues but this one is not only less powerful, but man is it going to bite you 😂 Me…I drive a x350 and got it over the Amarok purely on look…prefered the vw handling of no. Now….not sure what to get but def won’t be near this new (old) engine that’s for sure
