    • i like how you start the FH, BH from the contact point - without worrying much about ready position, swing path. quick natural way to start a fundamental swing. would wall hitting be a good way to start a beginner, since they can many hits per minute in?

    • I did this today and I played a game that I actually played well in. I'm still making some mistakes, I'm inconsistent with hitting it straight ahead. I hit it but it does go in an angle to the corners on the court where it's close to being out. Are there drills I can do to hit the ball perfectly straight?

  • I have played tennis for 40+ years. This is a spectacular instructional video. Even the little things like picking up a racquet off the ground is the proper forehand grip. Something I forgot until I saw this video (even though I still have a proper grip but I forgot about this simple lesson). That is exactly what my coach taught me decades ago. This guy is amazing and I am thankful for this video since I am now teaching my daughter how to play. It's the simple teaching techniques that make all the difference. Thanks to a million to "Intuitive Tennis"!!!

  • I have always believed that the coach and beginner need to be side by side on same side of net . So many coaches and there are so many really bad ones don't get it that the beginner pupil struggles with reversing the instruction and implementing it simultaneously from the far opposite side . this is a brilliant coaching session

  • Starting tennis from zero, is very difficult. I think this is one of the biggest barrier to bring more people into enjoying tennis and making it their hobby. This video is really good, because by watching it I begin to believe that there is a 'fast' way of making beginner know how to play. Well not in the full scale of tennis match obviously, but at least to start hitting balls continuously. And hopefully tennis will be even a bigger sport in the future. Especially, where I live I am looking forward to see more people play tennis.

  • This is amazing. I learned tennis as a kid in the early 90s. My awesome coach also coached Wally Masur when he was a kid. Now my wife wants me to teach her tennis but I have no clue how my coach stepped me through the basics and she refuses to "embarrass" herself with an actual coach. So I came to KZhead hoping for some help with my first ever "coaching" gig. This is absolutely perfect. An amazing gift. Thank you.

  • This is truly unbelievably good. Wow, Anna has incredible natural athleticism, hand-eye coordination and body control. Most beginners I see spazz out when a live ball comes to them from across the net, but she handled the pace with such calm and control. Amazing! Well done, Anna!

  • I wish I had started this way: by focusing on contact instead of mimicking the exaggerated-topspin swings of the day! If I could go back in time, I would give myself the following... *First Lesson to my Former Self: "Contact is Everything"* 1. Start your swing AT the contact point - mentally anyway, you will subconsciously add the backswing 2. Finish your follow-through COMPLETELY. There's a reason the pros do this (in warmup anyway). By _consciously_ focusing on the FT, it dictates everything that _unconsciously_ precedes it. 3. Do Not Worry About Topspin! Clean contact trumps topspin at this level of the game. Learn topspin only once you generate enough power that you cannot otherwise keep the ball from going long. I was the exact opposite, i.e. I paid HUGE attention to the looping, topspin backswing of the day (Borg, Vilas, etc.) and ZERO attention to the follow-through. Wrong! Other way around.
