Richard's was no walk in the park, Bivol had to work for this one a lot a close rounds...
Richards is a very big light heavyweight while bivol could easily fight as a super middleweight. Richards had a huge physical advantage, he is taller, has a longer reach and he is bigger muscles. It is not easy to fight against someone bigger because you have to move a lot to hit him and not being hit, then your punches has less effect

No faints, no lateral movement, pretty much a counterpuncher who gave away his reach and still made it a close fight. With the right trainer he could clip bivol in a rematch.

Bivol is slick enough to give Canelo problems. He doesn't really waste punches. Canelo has grown as a fighter I'd watch it.
All he really has over canelo is size and if he know how to use it and bully canelo then he has a chance. Canelo has everything else over this guy. I’m honestly having a hard time seeing why people rate Bivol so highly. May e there isn’t much at lhw other than Arthur beterbiev.

Bivol had fluidity in his game. If he fights Bertbiev this year I believe Bivol has the chance to give Artur his first loss in his pro career. While Bertibiev had the Power to knock people out Bivol had the footwork and defense to overcome that. Bivol showed that during his fight with Canelo. And what a name Dimitry Bivol is, sounds like a badass character and so is Artur Bertibiev.

So Bivol will be facing Zurdo next and Beterbiev should clash against Smith Jr. later this year. I'm curious to see who comes out on top in the 175 unification tournament! Edit: As of 5/21/21, there are reports that Ramirez is actually rumored to fight Sullivan Barrera on July 9. Can anyone confirm if this is true? Barrera may pose some challenges but why him? He already lost to both Bivol and Hart. This is another wasted tuneup imo. (Ramirez is stalling for the perfect 50-0 record.)

А противник хоть и был не удобен но был примитивным, однообразным, без ударным, так что топ таких противников должен проходить на изи а если нет то его уровень ставиться под сомнение и он становится не интересным, тоже самое и про бетера можно сказать - показал ужасный бокс, колхозный, скорость ноль, пластика как у дерева, явно сдулся тоже чувак, и вот они хотят спустится в весе и подраться с канело)))) с таким то уровнем бокса)))

Watching the highlights it didn't look like a close fight. Richards didn't seem to have been landing enough.
I wasn't counting punches but overall it felt like Richards might have landed more punches than Bivol but Bivol's were more snapping accurate lands (when they landed) and Richards had more softer shots but then again, his power punches were very powerful when they landed. It depends on what judges want to reward I suppose.
