DICE revealed new details about the latest entry into the Battlefield franchise, Battlefield 2042. Battlefield 2042 will feature series staple Conquest and Breakthrough. Breakthrough is much a much more guided experience, where teams are compressed into smaller spaces, while Conquest will be the standard open sandbox battles. Battlefield 2042 will allow for massive 128 player online battles. In order to deal with this, Battlefield 2042 will include cluster objectives. Battlefield 2042 releases October 22, 2021.

5:55 this is a VERY intriguing statement... it's not only capture point "A" anymore... it is A1 + A2 + A3 and only then you own full A to get tickets . that is really awesome and a logical consequence to add another layer to most games' rather flat capture / hold flag design.
It could be a jab to prevent back capping, increasing the amount of players contesting a single point (or a layer of points) to enrich gameplay mechanics of 64v64. BF would set up for a PR failure to promise such a high amount of players, only to divide them between 5 caps on a large map making it seem like 5 separate games of Xbox ghost recon island warfare. Smaller maps are more volatile for player movement and don’t apply.
Knowing BF, one team will steamroll and the opposition will barely contest one flag at a time. Won’t be too divided I think.

Good spot
I really enjoy how honest he seems. Especially at 0:50, he talks about problem solving, that absolutely nails what Battlefield is for me. That said, it's why I'm concerned about the dissolution of the class system. It used to be so satisfying to spawn in with the specific set of gear that got your team closer to completing your objective, at the sacrifice of other things by committing to specific style of gameplay to get the job done. Everyone has their favorite class to just get kills, but when the loadout sacrifices that you had to make when choosing medic to push your team through a meatgrinder in the trenches, knowing you would have a shitty weapon in exchange for the med crate just to help get your team up to key objective, made it was so satisfying. Same goes for all the classes. Sometimes you needed a recon, sometimes you needed an engineer, sometimes you needed a support. I know alot of people are yelling about RPG's, but that's not even my problem. My problem is that the sacrifices are BEING sacrificed and that reduces the problem solving. That's what made Battlefield unique for a AAA. I understand that they have to change things, but they don't have to change EVERYTHING. We don't want COD, we want a cerebral game with tough decisions.

@@Kuramaz524 so late.... what the HELL
@@Kuramaz524 a month of no new info? That's annoying. Last 2 videos showed some good stuff but they left out so much to be answered. Like destruction and class customizations and gadgets. Also gameplay without editing. Also why show pre alpha gameplay? We're only 4 months away from release. Pre alpha, really!?
@@FPSmoose because these gameplay demos weren't made days before they were released. They were probably made a couple months ago.
I'm really hoping you can activate and close the wingsuit mid air whenever you want, to really give way for some mid air Snipes. Please Lawd.
I love to see a team who seems genuinely excited about the game they’re making
I dont like the idea of the operator system and I fucking HATE the fact weapons are not locked to classes any more.
So snipers can be medics?
@@StillAtMyMoms If I was reading it correctly, pretty much.
@@derpasstwahtskie2246 the class thing was already blurred in BC2 and BF3/4 with weapons that any class could use, this is just the next step of that.
@@JustSkram Except the key gear. High power rifles went to Recon, Assault Rifles with GLs went to medic, lmgs with support, and rocket launchers to the engineer. I'm skipping a few but you get the idea. I'm just worried it's going to be nothing but the grappling hook guy running around with a high power rifle and rocket launcher. Idk maybe I'm cynical, but this just isn't looking like battlefield. Just copying what everyone else is doing instead of returning to form and improving on it...
I liked how things were set in BF3/4 for weapons but I did find myself playing support a lot so I wouldn’t run out of ammo. I’d rather see some kinda small ammo/health box (much slower ammo/health regen compared to large boxes) available as a secondary gadget to all classes than allow everyone to use all weapons.
I hope they don't forget about infantry maps like metro and locker 🔥🔥🔥
Yesss
Oh god 128 player metro
@@Airbomb That’s going to be an all out war
I hope they do No TDM and shit Just battlefield Btw he sayed the maps are clusteret CQ VEHICLEWARFARE Both Sou you get your CQfights for sure
Breakthrough just sounds like War from CoD WWII. I'm all for that.
Will the game be multi-platform? PLAYSTATION AND XBOX in the same gaming theater?
This game should def has some voip feature to be able to communicate verbally with your entire team overall really excited as a long time bf fan
i hope i can run this at low settings above 65 fps in my 1660ti.
Yes you can, maybe even medium to high settings. Battlefield has always had good optimization
how about gt1030 can itdo 45fps ??
@@indonesia_playa gt? Idk about that
@@tylermoore6228 it's a laptop though
@@tylermoore6228 that's not right, i've a 3070 and in 1440p max settings (rtx off) and dlss on i barely keep 60fps (BF5), instead on my second pc with an rx 5500 xt 8gb in fullhd medium settings i can't even get close to 60fps, it's a mess, but only in multiplayer, in the campaign with ultra settings i can achieve and maintain a solid 60fps
It’s kinda my hope that eventually battlefield could create those massive player generated spectacles that I’ve seen so often in Planetside 2. Hopefully this game can do that :)
I enjoy all the new additions to the environment, also how thinking about how gameplay would workout in scenarios where the playerbase will have the most fun. I hope they could consider adding a feature that allows the player to lean slightly left/right, I think it would benefit CQC. I think with enough skill and a leaning ability you can essentially be John Wick with a pistol. Just saying.
I think this guy likes to say the word Chaos
Did you just say CHAOS!?!?!?
Okay so we heard sea, but have seen no sea vehicles. That is exciting.
submarines?
If they show us a submarine I’ll be very excited/nervous. Logistically speaking in a game setting that’s a tough mf to maneuver & place correctly 😂
I hope we can drive destroyers and carriers
@@jrzgcwrocks Battlefield had subs before, in the very first game.
I'm super excited about this. I really hope this all comes together and delivers in the way it's presented.
I always wanted a game after Spec ops : The line, and that Dubai map in 2042 seems like it. Yep, I'm talking about that sandstorm.
