exactly. at the time i made this, i was aware of Selemene "also" being a Usurper. but since the scenes with Mirana and the Informant included mentions of her Uncle of the Helio Imperium, I got tunnel vision into thinking that "Usurper's Whore" related to her family as opposed to the Goddess whom Mirana now worships (Selemene) its funny how tunnel vision works. i've spent loooot of time thinking about Dragon's Blood Book 1 over the last couple weeks. and all of that time, i was thinking of the "Usurper's Whore" with wrongful tunnel vision. so when I read Raptor Hacker's comment, it was a major "oh my godddd. i am so dumb" type moment lolol

i hadnt considered that. but you make a good point in that the Invoker is ambitious. and there may be a lot more to his backstory

Mene and Selemene are references to the New Moon and the Full Moon, respectively. The New Moon does not appear in the sky because the light of the Sun is blocked by the Earth while the Full Moon is fully engulfed by it, appearing brightest. They also make sense symbolically because the New Moon is the time for planting seeds, it being the generative part of the cycle whilst the Full Moon is its peak, it being the receptive aspect. This is why the character is portrayed as a usurper, as well as NEEDING worship. Just wanted to point out the tremendous work that has gone into this solid piece of storytelling like few I've seen so far

yeah, its short. but its pretty fun. and if you liked season 1, season 2 is even better imo theres a song called DOTA that i used to play a lot in the car or partying. i had no idea until last year that it was a song made for some sort of video game or comptuer game (which the show is adapted from)

@@bridge4 hope they'll make the book 3 longer. I want more details for every chars and more fight scenes, it was awesome. the pacing of season 1 & 2 is too fast.
im just guessing that the frantic pacing may appeal to kids nowadays, since their attention spans are often spent on things like tiktok, IG stories, etc... but i hear ya. as an adult who like this show, im down for slower pacing as well =))

yooo waddup jamie!! yeah, i like it a lot. and ive been trying to figure out season 1 for the last few weeks. i finally came to the conclusion that there are a lot of things that we arent supposed to understand just yet (like Mirana's full backstory. her father as an usurper. her uncle and the helio imperium (which Luna is connected to in some fashion). so long story short, i watched it a bunch of times over the last few weeks, but ran out of time to fix my draft. so i threw this together, but once i hit publish, i realized "argg. this stuff is all very fresh on my mind. i should've approached this differently becase i could've worded just about every section bettter". whoopsies lol anyway, im pumped to watch Book 2 just like you =)) enjoy!

Shesh after watching book 2 I re-watched book 1 and come to your Season 1 Explained version of Book 1 and I have to say even after Book 2 I still have plenty of Questions probably even more now after watching Book 1 again?! Plenty of theories thats for sure lol e.g. Fymryn and Marina going to become a super power their fates seem intertwined?
but they both rock, so hopefully they are able to decipher the past and forge a path forward together before one or both of them dies. but yeah, i hear ya. their fates have been intertwined since the beginning and now more than ever it appears =))

tbh, i watched this mainly because i used to listen to a song called DOTA (which i learned last year was made for a video game which this show is based off of =))
@@bridge4 I shouldn't say this but I watch while driving👀l sometimes Audible and the JRE are not enough lol
i sometimes try to listen to shows with headphones while doing chores or passing out, but unfortunately, its easy to miss things since shows often "speak" through visuals. so you dont get the full picture when just listening. and at times, you miss major clues/plot points that are visual only

Terrorblade possessed the old town Knight (Fruhling) and killed Uldorak. They literally stated so many times in the show that Uldorak was the first dragon soul that TB captured. Its not hard to understand.
