Almaty used to be the capital of Kazakhstan. Not anymore. The city was named Alma-Ata back then meaning 'apple-father'. But it's still the largest city and the most beautiful one. Almaty is surrounded by some amazing places. From apple orchards to canyons, and mountain lakes!

In Kazakhstan people buying apartments for mortgage, everything starting from phone to car is for debt, kazakhs tied to capitalistic system, comparing to Kyrgyzstan, where people work as a migrants and prefer to purchase something immediately with cash. And salaries are almost the same, and prices are high in Kazakhstan.

Тогда переименуйте Питер в Ленинград, а Екб в Сталинград. Я просто не могу понять к чему ты пишешь этот комментарий везде, город строили не только русские люди (но я не говорю что они его не строили, заранее, чтоб ты не начал говорить что я отрицаю что они его строили), а если посмотреть что из себя представлял Верный, и что из себя представляет Алматы в нынешнем его виде, это два совершенно разных города. Спасибо всем инженерам-строителям которые потратили свое время и силы на строительство этого города, но он уже как сто лет не называется Верным, и ты тоже, не застал времени когда он так назывался.

    • not all Kazakhs were a nomadic people in the past, Kazakhs were semi-nomadic and semi-sedentary people, Russian (Soviet) chauvinists and false historians wrote our history for their own benefit, the Kazakhs had hundreds of cities in ancient and medieval times, but the Russians hide it from the outside world, they always wanted to humiliate my people by saying that the Kazakhs are wild, unbrown nomads, but this is not so

This is the first video of yours i'm seeing, so I am not familiar with your overall content, but I have to tell you i'm truly impressed how well you captured the city. How were you able to get so much "inside/local" information? There is a lot of details that you were able to cover and you did a great job. Also, your pronunciation of Almaty is excellent.

  • The author mentioned "Gorelnik" in the video. Few people know, but from 1943-1946, as well as later in the eighties, there was a school for mountain shooters. Soldiers who fought in the Caucasus mountains during the Second World War were trained there.

Великолепная работа👏 Это видео, судя по комментам иностранцев, открыло им Центральную Азию и в частности Казахстан. Это на заметку Министерству туризма или что там у нас.
