  • Love watching Etho and Iskall together! They just work so well together, and id love to see them base together in Season 10 of Hermitcraft tbh

    • Behind the dungeons? Avast, me trusty crew!" bellowed Captain Flintbeard, his grizzled voice carrying across the ship. "Me back be achin' like a sea serpent gnawin' on an old boot. But fear not, for I have me a remedy that eases me pain like the touch of a gentle mermaid. With a steady hand, the captain reached for his cherished elixir, only to find an empty space where it once stood. "Blasted barnacles!" he exclaimed, "Who be the scoundrel be snatchin' me brandy? As he paced the ship's deck, his mind also wandered back to his days on the high seas, battling fierce storms and rival pirates. "Ah, the memories of me adventures flood me mind like a tidal wave," His eyes lit up as he recalled battles fought on the rolling ocean waves. "I remember the time we clashed swords with the infamous Blackbeard, his beard ablaze with the fury of a dragon! We fought tooth and nail, but in the end, it was me mates and a good measure of brandy that sent that scallywag down to Davy Jones' locker!" Captain Flintbeard's weary eyes caught sight of a glimmer. There, nestled amongst the ropes and barrels, lay his missing bottle of brandy. "Yo ho ho!" he exclaimed, triumphantly clutching the treasure to his chest. "Me back pain may linger, but me spirits soar like a seagull on the wind!" With a hearty laugh, Captain Flintbeard raised his bottle to the stars, toasting to the sea, his adventures, and the simple pleasures that made life worth living. And as his ship sailed into the horizon, the captain's spirit remained unyielding, fueled by the memories of his pirate days, the love of the sea, and a good swig of brandy to ward off the pains of age. "Yo ho ho, me hearties! The sea be me home, and the brandy be me remedy. A pirate's life, though filled with trials, be a life worth livin'!" He uncorked the bottle but it was nearly empty. "Now, who be the scurvy dog that be pilferin' me brandy? Show yerself, ye sneaky landlubber, Captain Flintbeard leaned against the ship's railing, his weathered life etched with lines of wisdom. Captain Flintbeard looked at the deck of his ship, his weathered boots against the wooden planks. "As the wind whispers through the riggin'" "I remember the time we faced the legendary Kraken, its tentacles reachin' for me ship like a greedy octopus after a shiny trinket, it tangled me up in the riggin' like a stubborn sea serpent!" Twas a battle for the ages, me hearties! As he searched, memories of his swashbucklin' adventures flooded his mind. Gold doubloons, sparkling jewels, and barrels of rum that'd make a pirate's heart skip a beat. "Ah, the days of me youth, when me crew and I would sail the seven seas, plunderin' and pillagin' with a lust for adventure in our hearts. We faced storms that'd make Davy Jones himself tremble. But none of 'em could compare to me precious brandy right now, the elixir that soothed me aches and pains like a siren's song." "No scurvy sea dog or pesky ghost..." His memories intermingling with the present. "The sea, me hearties, be me true home. Captain Flintbeard's eye caught a glint of glass beneath a pile of forgotten maps. "Arr, me hearties! I've found it! Me missing bottle of brandy. "Now listen here me hearties, ye be in for a tale that'll make ye blood run cold! 'Tis the legend of the cursed treasure of Skull Island, a tale that sends shivers down the spines of even the bravest buccaneers!" We set sail for Skull Island, guided by an old map that whispered secrets of untold riches. The island itself was a fearsome sight, with jagged cliffs that pierced the sky and a dense jungle that hid its mysteries like a mermaid's siren call." "We ventured ashore, cutlasses in hand, our eyes gleaming with greed and a ill lust for adventure. The jungle whispered ancient secrets, and the air was thick with silence. We should have said, "No More." Through treacherous swamps and tangled vines, the others came upon a crumbling temple, its stone facade haunted by the echoes of lost souls. Within its depths, a chamber bathed in an otherworldly glow, as if the very air crackled with supernatural energy." "And there, in the heart of the chamber, lay the treasure, glimmering with a malevolent light. Jewels of unimaginable worth, golden trinkets that beckoned like sirens. But they knew not of the curse, the curse that lay upon it, a curse that would entangle the lives in misfortune." "Greedy hands took upon the treasure, but as they made their escape, the very ground beneath their feet trembled with anger. The island itself seemed to come alive, as if the spirits of the long-departed pirates sought vengeance for the theft of their riches." "Their ship, once a vessel of freedom, became ensnared in a maelstrom of swirling waters and ghostly apparitions. The crew, once united in their pursuit of wealth, turned against one another, driven mad by the curse that clung to the treasure." Captain Flintbeard's voice grew somber, his eyes reflecting the weight of the past, battling not only the treacherous sea but also the darkness that threatened to consume them. "The ship sank beneath the waves, the cursed treasure slipped from our grasp, lost to the depths of the unforgiving ocean." With a heavy sigh, Captain Flintbeard glanced out to the horizon, his gaze filled with a mixture of longing and caution. "So, me mateys, beware of cursed treasure, no amount of gold can bring ye peace if ye be haunted by the shadows of the past. 'Tis a lesson I've learned the hard way, and one that I pass on to ye, me dear crew." Captain Flintbeard, the retired pirate, had spent his days peacefully sailing the open seas on his small wooden ship, the "Tipsy Mermaid." Though his pirating days were long behind him, he still enjoyed the salty breeze and the gentle rocking of the waves. But there was still a mischievous problem. Every evening, as Captain Flintbeard settled down in his cozy cabin, he would reach for his bottle of brandy, the elixir that eased the persistent nerve pain, an injury he had acquired from a daring battle with the Kraken and tangled him up in the rigging of the masts many years ago and to his dismay, because only he and his first mate, a parrot only 2, were the only two on the ship, yet the brandy would mysteriously disappear from the bottle a little at a time. One evening, determined to catch the brandy thief in the act, Captain Flintbeard devised a plan. He carefully positioned himself behind a curtain, brandy bottle in hand, pretending to be engrossed in a thrilling pirate tale. At just past midnight he heard a creak on the wooden floor, followed by a faint giggle. Peeking out from behind the curtain, the captain spotted a mischievous parrot perched on his precious bottle. "Avast, ye feathered fiend!" Captain Flintbeard exclaimed, causing the parrot to squawk in surprise and topple over, spilling the brandy all over the floor. The parrot, seemingly unapologetic, hopped around, flapping its wings in a comical attempt to escape the captain's wrath. "Ye scurvy bird, why toy with an old pirate's pain relief?" Captain Flintbeard grumbled, trying to suppress a chuckle as he watched the parrot's antics. Captain Flintbeard couldn't help but burst into laughter, while the parrot, with NO apologetic expression, offered the sea captain a playful salute, as if to say, "No hard feelings, mate!"

    • It's certainly one of the examples of all time, that's for sure. Back in Fortnite season 5 I believe, levels 1-92 were the same to 93-100. Aaaaaaand that was horrible. Putting progress behind something time gated is not great game design for end game. Fortnite's case was a bit different (worse) because it was also time gated because of the season ending, but progress feels incredibly stagnant with active XP progression. Using 25+ minutes just to get a tiny fraction of a level to prolong the game without providing new content isn't player friendly, especially in an incredibly RNG based game.

    • And TFC is now a ghost looking through between F and T :( I guess that's a nice memorial since the row of hermits is supposed to only include current ones. As for the new hermits, I guess the ones that visited for DO2 are the most likely candidates. Any of them seem like good candidates, but IMO it would be most wonderful to see Skizz. The others might be more focused with Empires if there is to be a 3rd season, so Hbomb could be a possibility. Though Empires didn't stop Gem and Pearl from joining.

  • It isn't quite exponential, but there are certainly massive jumps at levels 50, 65, 80, and 90. After these jumps, it remains constant until the next jump. But below level 50, it is an increase in the amount per level, for each level. With the biggest being 2000 for levels 8 and 9, and the smallest being 400 for levels 12 to 41. Some interesting numbers. From lvls 50 to 65, going up 1 level takes a similar amount of XP as going from 0 to level 12. From 65 to 80, 1 level is the same as 0 to 21. From 80 to 90, 1 level is the same as 0 to 33. And from 90 to 100, 1 level is the same as 0 to 51. Going from level 99 to 100 is the same as going from 0 to 1 110 times; or 0 to 10 18 times.

    • @@vegboylokesh7778 Javelins were added in place of vault bows or ranged weapons. They were trying to add vault ranged weapons for a long time, and it was always going to be javelins because they had drawbacks to using such as having to pick them up after throwing, but the ultimate problem was always that when you have a ranged weapon in minecraft, it will nearly ALWAYS outclass a comparable level melee weapon. It just wasn't feasible from a balance perspective to add a weapon that had range like that. Javelins were reworked into an ability because while it's virtually impossible in a minecraft based engine to balance range alongside melee and have both feel satisfying, an ability is a different story. With an ability, they can control specs, they can give it a mana cost, and a cooldown, and because of that it's actually possible to balance. So yeah, javelins are somewhere near what vault bows are.

If you cant make the game easier give choices for player using broken ability or build is fine as long as the other build is fun to play and change your playstyle. It will become the player choices to make rule for their gameplay.

  • Loving this modpack, been playing since the start of this series but currently only at level 52 as I don't have a whole lot of time to play... but I'm currently working on a sky island viking style build I'm naming Vault-Halla, as an ode to your (our) Scandinavian heritage 🤓 I'm an ethnic mutt so to speak but my main ancestry comes from Sweden and Norway 😎

  • I'm fascinated by choosing to use exponential growth for exp requirements. I typically use logarithmic exp requirements to keep early game growth fast and mid-late game time costs within reason.

  • one thing i really miss is vaults just having random modifiers from the start, don't get me wrong i am not a hater, but sometimes its fun going into a vault and it just have bonus living on it or tankier mobs, i think in around lv20-40, when you know how to play the game, but you are not at the stage of extreme catalyst stacking, it would be a lot of fun just having 1 random, natural modifier on a vault. That is also why i am terribly excited for the new monolith vaults in update 13, whenever it comes to curseforge.

  • Idea: an item you can use in the Vault that instantly sends you out of the Vault, but makes it so you don't get any EXP, and the item itself is very expensive/rare- Maybe requiring a Pog to craft one? Or even just not being craftable at all, and only being in treasure rooms or a specific Omega room?

    @hello_i_exist9909@hello_i_exist99093 ай бұрын
    • POGs are really cheap past the very early game. Also, that's just a worse version of a home portal, you're able to bail at any point in a vault and keep XP

    • You can turn on waypoints in the vault and then teleport back to it. Not enabled by default but it’s already in the game. Or add FTB essentials so you have /sethome and /home commands. This is modded Minecraft and there’s always a way to accomplish what you want regardless of the pack developer’s wishes.
