  • This video hit me with so much nostalgia. As soon as I saw that old intro again, I knew I was in for a treat. The editing style, the old font, the old MatPat cutouts, and the mic quality took me all the way back to when I first discovered this channel, even before the FNaF days. I can’t believe it’s been ten years. Also, I love the references to the 2014 sub counts. That’s true dedication to the bit. Thank you for this gem, and for all the others over the past 10+ years. I always look forward to seeing what you do next.

And maybe if it is for algorithm reasons, instead of an intro, just working that music back into an outro or something would be more viable to keep the Ole algorithm happy without that absolute JAM being excluded. Anything just to have it back as a staple of GT videos again.

  • Loved the throwback and dedication to the bit. One thing you could've done with the height measurement would be to look at doors since doors in the US are mostly standardized. Bricks on a wall are just a texture that's been stretched and/or tiled which makes them really unreliable for measurements. If you found a door with a door knob that's (potentially) even better since the average door knob sits at about 3 feet (assuming the door and door knob are part of the same model or one non-stretched and non-tiled texture).

The editing style is close (not quite as quickly cut as the og ones) and he's either using the same mic or it's being matched to what he had... but Matpat just doesn't talk quite the same. He speaks much more naturally and confidently now than he used to. It's hard for me to describe, but I can just tell this isn't past Matpat, but the quality of the audio doesn't match new Matpat so it's triggering certain "this isn't right" impulses in my brain.
