  • PEOPLE. LISTEN. Life does its thing. We are all just passerbys. It’s all about the journey. Stay focused. YOU ARE THE JOURNEY THE JOURNEY IS YOU ??? yes or no. BECOME ONE you and the journey. Become one being. Presence. Then all secrets become unmasked. And u will walk around with a smile on your face all day long. Even before you twist up a joint and laugh at the world for being so self righteous in its ignorance and stupidity. My best to you all. Peace pipe time. Smile people. It don’t cost nothing extra.

    • I like you answer. I see the universal consciousness, god, whatever you will as an eternal unresting entity that can never die. What a thought! And how would that entity find solace? In eternal invention, creation, and stories. We are, as you say all part of the one, and all one like a bucket of water from the ocean of atoms with bucket skin as clothes representing our body clothes. Then , as the Hindu belief goes, there can be no sin, only experience. After all we didn't ask to be part of the play. It would be like us giving an eight year old the keys to a truck and blaming the child for the crash. Obviously god would have to stop runaway tyranny so karma would mirror back to you your bad deeds thus forever refining your soul and keeping the need, his need, for eternal play of creation to evolve.

  • I have hindsight. I look at an era of my life and I can define what I gained holistically from that era. With each passing era of experiences I reflect and identify how I grew through the experience and became wiser, stronger, kinder, whatever, but I can see how going through the experiences elevated me and developed me, and deepened an understanding of how I was lacking prior to and how I am more fulfilled and enlightened after. Now I have faith that when times seem hard I become grateful because I know the era is a masterfully sculpted experience that will provide my soul something important lacking within me. It is a beautiful opportunity divinely constructed to allow me to experience becoming Gods masterpiece. I have the will to self destruct but I have the faith and wisdom to acknowledge what a gift each day is and I’m grateful to be blessed with such a gift of experiences and opportunities to live Gods will and share in a beautiful construction.

The goal of life is not happiness but eudaemonia. It surprises me that Alan has taken up the mantle leading his listeners to eudaemonia. The root of this word contains a clue as to how a life with meaning and purpose is led on a day to day basis.

What about the speech in which he tells ppl to do what they’re doing in their off time (their hobbies.) because we perform our hobbies when we aren’t paid we end up gaining the experience to do it well enough to be paid (he adds that no matter how obscure a hobby it is there undoubtedly will be other humans that also find it interesting and thus will pay.)

  • The one in the most precarious position with regards to the phenomenon of meaning is the one who has innovated concrete solutions in survival and restoration of life for the collective. They do not suffer a lack of meaning but rather a meaningful community of support. I feel today that the quest for meaning has become very individualistic as compared to the solidarity movements of the 60s. One becomes today so inward that the external reality as shared by the collective becomes reduced to a mere extraction field for personal meaning. So here too much meaning distracts from practical purpose. Today I’m afraid too much personal meaning is the obstacle to reinvigorating the old solidarity movements. The innovator of new models of solidarity drowns in an atmosphere of fragmented individualism.

Just remember, while exploring the doors of time and space, be sure to leave breadcrumbs so you can find your way back. Getting lost within yourself may sound poetic, but trust me, the GPS signal in there can be a bit wonky. So, embrace the layers, dance with uncertainty, and enjoy the adventure of finding yourself without losing yourself. May your journey through the dimensions be as thrilling as finding the last slice of pizza in a parallel universe!

  • purpose of life by a man who literally drank himself to death. he is not wise, he just had that type of a voice which made everything he uttered sounded wise. most of the things he said was complete nonsense.

    • That has been my question too.. However in this world everyone has a desire to create something, come up with something.. And forcing it to be through hallusination. People hate truth. But still someone with insight know all this doesn't add up 💔

  • Watts and William F Buckley Jr. should have gotten together and climbed into an isolation tank. The longer they stayed there , the more life would have made sense to them. {Even if it didn't, at least they wouldn't be writing more drivel .}

    • @@PaulDickson7 He’s generally saying the purpose of life is to find happiness and contentment in the experience of life itself, good and bad events, rather than one’s happiness being the result of decades of hard work and pursuit of XYZ, which is exactly how a majority of us operate thru the programming of society. You’re too old to enjoy this fictitious story of happiness thru (usually) financial success or what not, because you’re too old, worn out and bitter by then anyway, with tons of emotional, mental and physical health problems you’ve created in the pursuit of success, and it doesn’t exist anyway! That’s what he’s saying. True happiness comes from within, AS you’re observing and truly experiencing the life without, not meeting last min quotas and driving a Mercedes. And although you have to keep up with him and sometimes it’s difficult as hell, his message is crystal clear throughout if you can do it. BTW, if I had the money to buy a Mercedes, I probably would, because it’s a nice fucking car. Why not? I’d drive a used VW if I had to also, and I wouldn’t be too concerned about it. Life is life. Life is learning about yourself, others, and understanding how to get thru hardship well and learn from it, and embrace peace when it’s there, which should be often. Life is to be experienced and enjoyed, not run thru erratically on your way to the weekend…every single week, for your entire life. Until you’re old and you’ve “finally found happiness!” Which is what exactly all of a sudden? What is this happiness that’s suddenly appeared out of nowhere in your life? It’s a bullshit story we’re all told from birth so we’ll willingly submit and sacrifice our health, our families and children, and our very lives…for profit, convenience, power, etc. Of others 99% of the time. Think about that. That’s his entire message. You just gotta listen for it.
