    • (in reply to your hope of: "I hope you will share with your friends"...) My reply is: OF COURSE YES !!! Dear JSK koubou: You are a recurrent example in my discussions on a group of woodworkers that we have in Mexico... From this exact video, I told them several subjects: 1) That our electric hand tools are way underused or "wasted" if we don't accompany them with Precise jigs, guides and supports that can transform those tools into precision instruments, thanks to your superb examples. 2) That they don't have to limit themselves to using only wood, but that they have to learn about using some metals like steel, aluminium, etc by using profiles, plates and bars. In some of your setups, metals make the difference! 3) That tackling design, they will, some day, progress beyond simple projects, an be able to make our own bench tools from much less expensive electric hand tools. 4) That getting deep into making many jigs and accesories is one of the best ways to acquire dexterity and precision without worrying too much about finishes and looks, before attempting to go into fine cabinetry or demanding woodworking, that is; to become precise and clever thanks to making a lot of jigs before any cabinet! In a word, you are one of several true geniuses that I follow, most probably the number one of all them! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    • Thank you for watching my video. I value not only making tools accurately, but also making jigs and tools that are as safe as possible. There is a video on youtube that shows how to make a very dangerous tool, and it has been watched by many people. One of the reasons why I made a tool video is because I want to introduce tools that can be processed as safely as possible so that as many people as possible can work safely.

    • I know I can't stand obnoxious music added to DIY videos. If it was being filmed at a job site with a crew and the radio was faintly playing the classic rock station in the background it would add a bit of authentication. (Shutting off the radio to make your video would get you busted, HA)

  • That panel saw is inspired and I'm totally building one when I have the space. The only thing I might do differently is mount everything using the T-track instead of screwing directly into the plywood to make it easily disassemblable/assemblable for fine-tuning and modification.

  • I have a love/hate relationship with this channel. Love, because I love everything he does here. Hate, because plywood is so expensive here, especially the thick one he uses, that in most cases it would be cheaper to buy ready-made stuff.

    @Miestwin@Miestwin Жыл бұрын
    • BE CREATIVE! LOOK: most of his projects can be done substituting the expensive plywood with much less expensive MDF or HMR. in that case you will have to coat the MDF or HMR with a sealer or enamel paint to avoid humidity effects, but it can be done without espending too much.

      @alfredomarquez9777@alfredomarquez9777 Жыл бұрын
    • Wolf Guard Miestwin Plywood is also expensive these days. But your statement has flaws. It's cheaper to buy things from scratch than to buy off-the-shelf tools and materials to make something. In other words, it's cheaper not to make anything. Now, I have a question for you. What made you want to buy off-the-shelf tools?

      @jisakukobo@jisakukobo Жыл бұрын
    • That is because in America they don't want you to DIY nothing is a society base on high consumers and low pay workers.The industry in America is base on buy and sale what is call services .See if you DIY you try to become independent and system don't want that.If you look at people DIY anything on another country they use tools and materials we don't have here in the states or if is any similar is way to expensive you never wonder why?

    • @@jprz3837 If by "progressive dorks" you mean "people who are observant", well thank you! It's really nice to be appreciated! Of course, if that's not what you meant, and what you were really doing was disrespecting this channel by venting your own terrified little boy feelings of inadequacy and projecting your own self-loathing onto others, well maybe the Internet isn't really a healthy place for you. I'm ashamed to admit my initial reaction to your comment was to laugh out loud, and imagine the pathetic and lonely little keyboard "warrior" you surely are. That was wrong, and I am sorry. I should not be laughing at the embarrassing rantings of someone who has clearly reached rock-bottom. You have undoubtedly had a very tragic and pitiable life, so I beg of you to not give up hope! I know the world is a dark and scary place for you, but believe me, there is help for you if you can just get up the courage to ask for it! It's time to put down that controller, turn off the Playstation, and come out of that basement. I know the first steps into adulthood can be scary, but I know you can do it if you try! I really do.

Is there a special blade for cutting wood and Aluminium together so I don't have to keep changing through blades or is that what u normally do yourself? • Great video as usual (and with updates to some of your splendid creations too), I am interested at the moment in your 'Track Saw With Handle' design (because I am in the process of buying myself a Circular Saw) but I can't see a Circular Saw (that I can afford) that has a second parallel fence on the rear of the saw base, which I feel is necessary for that Saw Guide design, would you have any suggestion on how to add an extra one to a regular saw? I think that the creation of the actual fence I should be able to make, but to add the rear channel or any other method of holding it to the saw base is more complex, if not impossible unless I replace the saw base itself with a new one that I would build that incorporates it. Then again I have noticed that your cordless Makita saw looks large and heavy and would definitely need the two parallel fences, but a regular 185 mm (bladed) corded saw weighing around 4 Kg would suffice with just one fence I guess.

    • Charles: I would not worry about not having a rear "slot" for that double paralell guide... as most of the affordable saws have enough space at the rear of their sole plates where you can easily add a pair of small aluminum squares to form a slot where the rear strip can go... imagine two 3/4" aluminum squares made from 1/8" strip, place them separated by the width of the metal srip you will use, and cover them with another rectangular piece of aluminum strip. Use two bolts and nuts to hold them in place and run the strip under the rectangular piece and GUIDED by the two squares. It is not difficult as it appears to be. NOW, what you SHOULD WORRY ABOUT, is getting a circular saw that has a very RIGID and strong baseplate AND Cutting Depth adjustment mechanism!!! That is the difficult part! See: I bought a Makita 5008 MG 8 1/4" Corded Circular Saw... that LOOKED beautiful, but its mechanism is VERY FLIMSY, and FLEXES TOO MUCH when I press down the saw against the plywood I am trying to cut... so much that the 8 1/4" blade goes OUT OF SQUARE, AND FAILS TO CUT AT A PRECISE 90° TO THE SURFACE!!! (So, I wasted my money, and will have to either heavily modify and rigidize the mechanism, or sell it cheaply, and it is a "Makita", albeit, Made in China! So, choose the most rigid and solidly built circular saw you can, and check if its baseplate and mechanism is rigid enough!!! Best luck!

  • Am always fascinated by your creativity and skill. Quick question: What model Makita circular saw are you using? Can't seem to find one in the US that has a front and rear guide rail.

  • Hi @JSK-koubou, I was wondering where you get the double sided tape? The one I get from Daiso is too thin and leaves a sticky greasy residue when I try to remove it. Also, for the track saw with handle, what are the aluminum tracks you used?
