This restaurant is an introvert’s dream, i love how orderly and polite everything is as well.
100%
Orgasmic.
Correct. I love the isolation.
This is not introvert anymore, it's basically just antisociality.
I’m introverted as hell, but don’t mind talking to the owner/waiters. I don’t think having social anxiety counts as introversion
I served in the military in the 70's in Japan. I was near yokohama and there were ramen noodle shops all over the place. I was more near rural towns, so they were small mom and pop shops. So good.
I love that you explain why things are done the way they are in Japan. It is very nice to get to hear it from someone native's point of view. This was a lovely view into the Ichiran experience. Thank you for that.
I cant believe how respectful you guys are its seems so different
I never thought watching a video of someone eating Ramen noodles could be so relaxing. Thanks for the video
Then I encourage you to discover other Asian ASMR food videos. 😁👍🏻
Made me hungry!
@@user-gz2sp8bv7chow did you get that emoji!!😮
Never been to Japan but always loved the culture , cuisine and the way people talk to each other.
I’ve been saying this all my adult life, such a beautiful culture.
The whole point of this restaurant is you don’t have to talk :)
Well you should see the actual japan LMFAO this shows nothing, they are creepy, dying, and literally exploit children for idols
Japan is an addictive place for those of us who love and appreciate culture. I always miss Japan when I'm not there!
@@EZ_Case Bet you have never lived there. What do you know about their culture.
I appreciate this video so much. I think that if i get anxious when I go to Japan, going to a restaurant like this would be so easy and comforting
I think most British "foodies" understand the traditional slurping of ramen and would (hopefully) not be offended, especially if done by a Japanese person.
I'm an American, so I was taught that slurping my food is very rude. I love Japanese food and I have visited many Japanese restaurants in America and Japan, so I am trying to adjust to a new version of table manners. I enjoy Kosuke's channel and it is helping me to learn more about the way things are done in Japan.
Thanks ✨I’ll try to include Japanese point of view that is never done on other YT channels.
IMO...Besides adding flavor to noodles & cooling noodles, slurping let's cooks know that you're enjoying the fruits of their labor!-lol
same in germany
My brother and son would avoid eating with you due to the slurping. I'm not a big fan either. Whatever makes you happy though is ok.
Wonder if its an American thing, in New Zealand we don't care if you slurp or don't even though we speak English, I reckon large open mouth chewing is considered more rude, i don't think anyone would want to hear meaty squishy noises.
It's so fun learning about different cultures and thier customs. The Ramen looks delicious 😋
Food and culture go hand in hand 👍
This is an incredibly well made video, I appreciate your efforts to explain in depth of how different things are done in Japan, but this is for sure a special episode. When I go to Japan I'll be excited to try Ichiran Ramen!
Youre a very respectful, kind, and informative for doing this. Thank you very much.
This look so peaceful and relaxing and i like how they have privacy while eating. Japan surely is doing great.
I wish there were more places like this in the US. Tired of dealing with people face to face in the service industry
McDonalds is basically this now. They rarely have people up front taking orders. They understaff like crazy and keep everyone in the kitchen so you have to wait for someone to come up front if you don't want to use the kiosk.
There are 3 in NYC
It’s called door dash.
@@sferris5316 not really what I meant but yeah door dash is also a good option
@@shawnselvaag522 While the McDonald's that I go to has plenty of staff, I like to use the kiosk when I order a meal. I get to stand and ponder over the choices right in front of me while the tv menus at the counter seem to change over before I finish looking at them. I also have an issue with other noises messing up my hearing. The kiosk is a win-win for me. If I just want a coffee, I will order it at the counter. I don't know how busy it usually is as I only go to have an after lunch coffee once a week with friends
This is so interesting! I would love to visit Japan one day. Thank you for sharing this with us!
The noodles? Lovely. The broth? Amazing. But the soft boiled egg... THIS is a work of art.
Haha, eggs are processed differently in Japan. I wouldn't eat raw or half-cooked eggs abroad 🍳 You can try it in Japan 👍 Nobody got poisoned.
You can eat raw eggs in many countries in Europe too.
Is the egg served warm or cold?
How are the eggs different? Are your chickens different (raised differently)?@@kosuke_shows_japan
I love noodles! Now I'm hungry and want some ramen, lol. Slurping noodles doesn't bother me, any more than watching someone from a culture different from mine (American here) that eats things with their fingers that I would use a fork or spoon for. Every culture has its own traditions, and those are what makes things special.
Glad the video increased your appetite 🍜
Me too!
If you give Ramen to villagers from the middle east, of course they are gonna eat with their fingers.
I worked with a Chinese, and he slurped, too. So I'm guessing it's an Asian thing.
@@pwk22, they also slurp in Korea. Sometimes I even crave kimchi and can eat half a jar before I start to feel satisfied.
Thank you for sharing! During one of my visits to Japan on business (from the US), when we were preparing to eat Ramen, my host told me that it was "OK to make a sound". I appreciated his guidance!
OK to slurp if you’re given the green light.
@@kosuke_shows_japan I love Japanese food! On a business trip to Tokyo I was invited to a wonderful Sushi dinner at the invitation of the Chairman of the Oceanography Department at Todai University. Once I got used to the pickled baby octapus, I realied I could eat the whole meal..... I even enjoyed Uni! OSHI!! :D :D I even ate Sashimi fish that was still moving, haha :) I never had the courage to visit a Fugu-ya, however. :D
Love the way folks are so polite. We finally have a great Ramen restaurant in my city in Canada. I go there 2-3 times per week. Shoyu is my favorite type.
ah hell yeah
I enjoyed ramen in Japan and in the USA but I was never sure how, exactly, to eat ramen politely. Your video shows everything and answers all of my questions. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thanks for the video, I also really liked the facts you explained throughout the video. This is something I did not see in other Ichiran Ramen videos and it was nice to know about this things, makes you appreciate the video more!
I think these little wooden plaques are for people who don't speak Japanese so they can ask the staff. The food looks amazing. What a great video. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Great content, I love how you incorporate educational things about Japan and history!!
Thank you for this video! It's so educational. I've been to Japan twice and am always interested to know more about your culture. Keep the videos coming!
I love all noodle concepts from around the different countries. Slurping does not bother me. I like getting to show my appreciation for the chef's abilities. I haven't gotten to travel abroad. It is one of the wishes I know I can't fulfill. I am saddened by that fact as I love food. I really enjoy ramen, udon, and such dishes very much. I would love to be able to experience it from the countries of origin. This an amazing video. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge of ramen, udon, and etc. I am hoping to see more of your videos. Great videography.
I love hearing about the cultural differences between Japanese culture and other cultures with something as simple as eating noodles! Thank you for sharing.
This is an excellent video! I learned a lot. Thanks so much for making this.
I've watched more than several Ichiran videos, this was amongst the top for enjoyment. My favorite is also a rich tonkotsu, spicy, with all the trimmings and firm noodles. Someday, I'll enjoy this bowl from Ichiran!! 😋👍🌻🍜 A really nice video. ❤
I hope to visit Japan one day, its a dream of mine. The ramen looked so delicious. Thank you for sharing part of your culture.
It's the most detailed video about Ichiran I've ever watched! Really good!!!
Thanks, I try to make videos informative and fun to watch 😌
The respect and courtesy shown by everyone who works there is so amazing! Such a great video, thanks for the upload!
an interesting and informative video , and the food looks great. thankyou!
I was wondering when you were going to upload again. I love this style of video! The extra details about the different ramen types was very neat.
Thanks for waiting :) I’m glad you liked the video style. I include Japanese peoples perspective on videos 😊
@@kosuke_shows_japan There was another video I watched about Ichiran, but I didn't know that when you hit the button, it plays a tune.
yes
I travel to Japan for work and love everything about the country. Especially the food. My favorite ramen place is in Nagoya, they have a spicy ramen that is amazing. Also Sapporo, because it always seems to be snowing there and there's no better time for ramen then when its cold.
Dank je wel voor deze video. Leuk om te zien hoe je ramen eet! 🙏
I love the setup. It's great for people who want to go out to eat alone but are shy or for people who feel uncomfortable eating in public. The booth looks cosy and like you can concentrate on enjoying the food.
I started eating ramen in the late 1960's or early 1970's and didn't know there were so many ways to enjoy them until 1976 when I did my first tour in South Korea. Oh, my taste buds had an eye opening experience. Now I put vegetables, meat in mine plus an egg. I just can't eat them plain anymore... My stepsister called one day while I was eating a bowl and said something about the noise I was making and I quickly explained that's how they're supposed to be eaten. She said it was rude and I told her in a number of cultures it'd be rude to not slurp or make noise. She also served in the Army but never went overseas. I also told her I'm not going to stop eating or enjoying what I'm eating for her. And yes, I do eat mine with chopsticks.
This was a great video! I can't wait to visit Japan and Ichiran one day!
Same Here
I really have to say a big thank you to you, you explain it so well!. step by step! 😁😌
Such a wholesome video, relaxing and enjoyable to watch and listen to!
I really enjoyed your video! I love how you provided some quick cultural background like the ramen song. Ichiran is definitely on my list. I might not be from Fukouka, or even Japan, but Tonkotsu is definitely the best ramen!
Thanks for your feedback 👍 Each thing has some meanings and cultural background of Japan. I’ll try to include them in more videos.
I'm kind of mind-blown that they allow you to order additional noodles for the remaining broth. In America, they would definitely just make you order a whole new bowl if you were still hungry. If I ever have the pleasure of visiting Japan, I would get fat because I would never just drink the remaining broth. I would just be like, "More noodles please!" until the broth was gone. 😂
most ramen placed in america you can order extra noodles for your remaining broth. At least all the places ive been too in NY, MA, and CT
You can order as many sides of noodles as you want for about $2-3, here in California.
Me too!
Are you sure your not just assuming that because of angst for the US?
It’s the same here in Delmarva (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia); you can order a half serving of noodles or rice for very little money. The only problem with that is it you have to know about it it is overcooked.
I really enjoyed this video, I didn't know about the noodle slurping thing but it's interesting to know. Keep up the good work :)
This video really helped me!! Thank you!!
I'm from sweden, it's 3am, i'm drunk and idk why but i'm watching your video... I realy liked it ! Thx for it, i'll go hopefully in japan next year as a exchange student near osaka, the city is called nishinomiya if i'm correct, i hope i will have the luck to try Icharan there ! Thx a lot i subscribed !
Oh good to know that even drunk ppl are enjoying my videos 😁 Yeah, that’s great. People in Osaka and Kansai region are funny. I bet you’ll have a good time there.
I love how you learned more about your culture by translating into English. I'm talking about you mentioning the mushrooms 😂
Yeah, when I try to explain something, I learn something new I was never aware of in the past.
You eat the noodles so impeccably - it's just beautiful to watch!
You're doing great! I'm working as a Japanese Food youtuber as well and your video is really good to see!! It helps me how I make my videos even better!👍
Oh thank you. We can learn something from each other to improve video qualities ✌️
Man, I just ate korean food, and seeing this now I am craving ramen. Subscribed, as I love ramen, and seeing the map of Japan, with different types, miso, etc. just increased my knowledge and will try ramen from all region here in Canada
Thanks, conquer all ramens in Canada and visit Japan when time comes. Ramen journey is gonna be endless 🍜
I love this concept! Ramen is one of my favourite dishes. This ramen looks delicious by the way! Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
So nice. Id love to go here. Thanks for this video😊
Omg, you really make me miss Ichiran ramen so much. It’s the must every time we go to Japan.
Yeah, must.
This was a nice video! Really human vibes. Japanese people feel very accommodating and seem to take into account everything helpful one might need in any situation. Awesome.
Let’s do a “how Americans eat bbq”My family owns a bbq restaurant in California. Off The Grill in Sanger CA 😎
A very nice video, Thank you. I want to try Ramen now!😍
Such a lovely video! I could almost t-a-s-t-e the noodles. Thank you!
I tried Ichiran in New York and it was a whole lot better than I imagined. It was so delicious I would go again. The bad part is that in Japan it’s very affordable. But here in America it’s expensive but still worth it.
I will tell you that this is seriously the best ramen I’ve ever had. It’s so simple, but everything is so perfected-it doesn’t need any additions
Lol I feel bad for you. Their ramen is absolute trash compared to most small shops.
Thank you for sharing, The Raman looks amazing! I hope to explore more of your culture.
I love your video. Growing up not slurping, it takes great effort to slurp my noodles. Thank you so much for your video. I subscribed. Thank you.
As an Indian, I just had an opportunity in Thailand to try.. it was awesome and tasty.. never has such tasty noodles before... I know that wasn't authentic yet it tasted so good
I’m visiting Tokyo all by myself in a couple of months and I have been a bit anxious about eating out since I don’t speak Japanese… this video helped me a lot!
Thanks, I try to make videos informative and helpful for people visiting Japan.
use Google translate on your phone and show the restaurant staff the translation
I hope you have lots of fun
It’s not that bad because most places now have English menus or you can use google translate and the staff usually know a little bit of English
so how was the trip?
This video was so good. I've visited Japan...and loved it there. I don't mind the slurping at all and I love the small bites of food. I'm looking forward to watching all your videos.
Thank you for sharing your viewpoint. The bowl of noodles was lovely.
that looked delicious. as a westerner my parents always thought me to eat quietly but I really enjoy when Japanese people make slurping sound when eating, makes me feel like I am in an authentically Asian restaurant so makes me thing food will be really delicious here.
Japanese people don’t know slurping is such a controversial topic in the world 🤣 Ordinary Japanese never thought about it and don’t care, which is good I think🍜
i go to university in the US and we have an ichiran style ramen restaurant near the campus. the process and setup is almost identical, we just don't have the built in water spigot for each seat :) it's surprising it exists here since i live in a small town in the middle of the country, not in a big city
QThst was tea.
That was nice to watch, and very informative!
Oh my gosh I am shocked you don't have hundreds of thousands of subscribers yet! I love, love, love these videos! Thank you for showing your culture with us.
Thanks I will grow big 🚀
Very interesting. We Americans are so sheltered. Eating is something we all have in common. It’s cool to discover how we all enjoy it.
Looks delicious 😋, I really like the private eating booths. Hi from Australia ☀️🌏
Thank you. Australia is close to Japan. Come come 😁
After a hard long day at work, having this kind of experience would be so nice. Being out and still having this kind of privacy would be fantastic. Not to mention the Ramen looks wonderful.
Thank you very much for this video! It's going to be really helpful.
At university in 1970, my Thai roommate had just got back from an around-the-world trip (wealthy family) and the most memorable thing was his experience at a Tokyo restaurant. He said he almost couldn't eat with all the slurping which was so at odds with his Thai culture. This was the first I'd heard of the Japanese being noisy eaters.
Japanese are quite on a train but noisy at noodle stalls
@@kosuke_shows_japan Yes, that was more than fifty years ago. I've watched too many NHK and travels about a country I've never been to; hence my visit to your video. Best success on your channel.
Interesting to watch the differences among culture customs in different countries 👍In South America, we do not slurp, and we eat noodles with a fork and sometimes with the help of a spoon. Still, we love Ramen Noodles! 😁✌
Im italian, I eat spaghetti wit h the fork and noodles whit chopstick, i dont know why, maybe is a form of respect for the food?
thank you! I really enjoy watching this video.
I loved this video! Thank you so much.
in germany Düsseldorf is a big street with lots of japan Ramen shops and most ppl there eat it with no slurping, its funny when i eat there and make slurping noises. Last time i orderes a Butatama its with tonkotus and ordered with tripple ramen noodles :D so delicious
I know about Düsseldorf because I like football ⚽️ 🇩🇪Germany allowed Japanese football association to build a facility there.🇯🇵 We appreciate that. I heard the city had the largest population of Japanese in Europe 😳
Wow! I never finish all my noodles when I get ramen, so I can't imagine ordering extra noodles!
Right. I ordered a medium and ate 3 meals from it.
@@tinytt854 Same !
you have the prettiest voice ive ever heard. this video is so soothing
Love your channel. Love Japan 🇯🇵
It’s weird, but I had a lot of ramen when I visited Japan, but the one I remember the most is the ichiran ramen, not sure if it was because of the unique atmosphere and or the deliciousness of the ramen \. I. Always think of ichiran!!!!! I an American Japanese from Hawaii and I don’t slurp but I tried, but it’s not that easy!!! Need to practice!!!!
Nice to hear American Japanese memories of staying in Japan 👍 It’s difficult to try something new that you’ve been told not to do before. Yeah it needs practice. Enjoy it :)
There’s this amazing ramen shop down the road and I always get the tonkotsu. As a western hispanic, this slurping is also what I do when I eat noodles! :)) I love this video
The thing that attract me the most is the silence and the discipline these people have .......
Slurping allows you to eat it hot. Slurping also aerates the noodles and broth which intensifying the flavor. Otherwise, you can let it sit and cool down that would make the noodles soggy.
Slurping solves everything:-)
Yes Respect the culture. I guess its similar with Filipinos or Asian in general that eat with their hands. There is a satisfying feeling when you put the rice in your mouth using your bare hands almost like you’re slurping it, and there is a sound. It’s hearty eating with a hearty meal ❤
I stayed in the Philippines for a few months. I had chances to eat meals together with Filipino. They are so cheerful ✨🇵🇭
I travelled to Japan a few years ago with a tour group. If I go again, would love to explore much more, especially the restaurants and what the Japanese enjoy eating. Making ramen dishes on my own through KZhead...got me hooked. Thank you for you videos!!!
its nice to see this kind of video, from japanese people itself and confident to show his face. Keep more video coming
Slurping noises is only uncomfortable for weird westerners. The most of us enjoy the sounds of eating! It shows that you enjoy the food we prepared for you!
Slurping and smacking - chewing with the mouth open - is repulsive to me. One of my clients does it and I leave the room before he starts to eat. Talking while eating is not okay either. I don't want to see chewed up food in a person's mouth and I don't want to see it fly across the table. Saying "thank you" works for me.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing 😊.
Great topic, thanks 👍
I really like this video , thank you so much for sharing , very enjoyable to watch you eating 😇
My grandson was in Japan last year for two weeks. He had nothing but good things to say about Japan and its people and food. Best Ramen he ever had.
I'm from Canada. this was very cool to watch. thanks for making this! i hope to visit japan one day
Thank you for a very nice video. I enjoyed watching it very much. Please continue to make good videos like this one.
I’m Malaysian and my grandparents were from China. They slurped noodles in soup while it was still very hot but most people of my generation, born in the 80s, don’t slurp noodles.
nice video man ! Enjoyed watching it
I want so much to visit Japan! My brother visited and fell in love with it. The Ramen looks wonderful. Thank you for showing us real life.
The uniqueness of this type of restaurant would really be successful in the right places in the US. I would definitely visit this restaurant. That Ramen looks absolutely delicious!
Thanks for the video!, I'm definitely visiting an ichiran Ramen place when I go visit Japan
Thank you so much, that was very interesting and informative.
The best ramen review I've seen , thanks for your efforts!
The best? Thank you 😁
