NBA TV's Documentary on The Original Dream Team that competed at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. #usabasketball #thedreamteam #michaeljordan #magicjohnson #larrybird #nba
I do not own this video. All credits go to the original owner: NBA TV. For entertainment purposes only.
You know your team is legendary when the other team is asking to get there picture taken with you.
during timeouts lol during warmups lol
I always wonder what the coaches of the opposing teams would tell their players or what kind of pep talk they got before playing the dream team.
Laettner, Bird, Magic, Jordan, Stockton, Ewing, Malone, Drexler, Pippen, Robinson, Mullin, Barkley... it says a lot about a team when you can name every single player without hesitation even 30+ years later. And i am a german that was born in 1980. Cannot even remember 10 german players from our 1990 football world cup winning national team. Truely the greatest sports team that has ever stepped on a court, with great admiration from all over the world. Phenomenal guys...
I know the numbers without looking them up 4. Leatnner 5. Robinson 6. Ewing 7. Bird 8. Pippen 9. Jordan (i wore this # in elementary) 10. Drexler 11. Malone 12. Stockton 13. Mullin 14. Barkley 15. Magic Best assembled team I have ever witnessed, some come close these days; yet, theyll never be able to replicate that x factor I personally felt when watching their games. I am from Mexico, I was 10 when the Barcelona olympics took place.
isiah thomas should have been on this team not stockton.
I love it when magic was describing that in team practice game after the exhibition game😊.
@@archangelmusic13 Nope. Stockton was twice as good as Thomas in one key area that was vital to the the Dream Team: assists. He was better in other areas too, like sportsmanship. In Olympic sport, character is almost as important as ability. Stockton had both.
I’ve watched this documentary at least 10x. Im not a sports enthusiast; but the Dream Team was more than sports. Awesome
If intrusive thoughts is a person it would be Charles Barkeley LOL
Love this documentary. The best team ever assembled for the Olympics. There will never be another team like this. They loved the country and the game they played. I was so happy to be able to watch this live on tv. Truly blessed to have watched them play and to the people in the USA please take notes. They done it right. They played for there country and it’s crazy to see how it is now. Dream Team for life.
Watching this made me miss the 90s very much.
Never gets old.
This doc made a 40yr old man in tears. Really, in 20yrs things change. About 20yrs ago, I was the Michael Jordan in my hometown Arviat, Nunavut.....and it's because of this Dream Team. Wow! 😢
The GREATEST basketball team EVER ASSEMBLED
Team
This team has dominated the Olympics in every aspect .. not only the game of basketball .. a legendary moment in sport history .. and I don't know if someone mentioned that to you or you had noticed it .. they didn't ask for any timeout in the whole competition .. I don't think that any team can do that ever ..
Sport ... ANY sport will NEVER get any better than this. Growing in the 90's was AWESOME!!
Greatest team of all time.
i find it hard to watch just about anything these days. my attention just shifts to something else. this documentary absolutely hooked me from start to finish.
I'm here in 2023 remembering memories. It was magical at 13 years old to see the Dream team play. My saintly grandmother and I watched the games together. I started playing basketball when I was 9 years old, but with the Dream team's Barcelona Olympics I dreamed big... The best and most charismatic group of athletes in history!!!!!!!
That Webber dunk would have been an awesome poster
I've seen this documentary dozens and dozens of times. It was the most beautiful and magical period of my life ❤️ forever Dream team! Greetings from Portugal!!!
Man I love Magic's energy!
ONE OF THE GREATEST VIDEOS IVE EVER SEEN ON YT, GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS!!!!!
Larry’s work ethic was crazy. The way he worked and the way he played, I have no doubt that he was checking out the soon to be rookies. During a practice game between the 1992 Dream Team and college kids, Larry said after watching, “Chris Webber was the man. If he’s coming in, I gotta get out”. The documentary is epic! 11 future Hall of Famers. Everyone was glued to their TVs for every game. It was a surreal time for us. You should check it out. I still watch at least once a week and the joy of watching beautiful basketball like you’ve never seen is still there. If you choose to react to it, don’t break it up. Even though it’s just over an hour, it goes fast. The hosts who did it in one video all were awed. The problem with those who broke it up is that it’s almost impossible to find all of the parts. Last time Larry and Magic played. They were the co1-captains 🥰
Funny how John Stockton looks tiny compared to the others and yet he's still over 6 feet
Excellent video about a truly historic moment in time.
I remember the excitement when the team was created and it grew and grew with each game. Watching this was like a time machine for me that brought me back to a fantastic time of my life. The team did it for us! USA! Thanks guys
Great Documentary!!!
Those 90’s 😢
I watched the finals on a cruise ship between scandinavia countrys on a live broadcast usa against yougoslavia
Imagine if they picked Shaq over Christian Laettner. They would've had 12 hall of famers in that team.
They were literally unable to
Magic Johnson has the most beautiful smile... Jordan the best of the best of the best! the entire team is just awesome!
I remember in hs our coach would make us lose sometimes on purpose in practice just to show us and so i do believe he arranged for them to lose
1992 the best year ever
This is the year I was born I'm so thankful that I got to see Michael Jordan's second repeat and David Robinson win his first title and see the dream win his 2 and last ring
@@ernieestrada193I was in my sixth grade year (1992) when the Dream Team was assembled and captured the Olympic Gold 🥇 Medal as well best year ever for me personally and before that Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen's Chicago Bulls repeated as NBA champions on the same year and became the first teammates to win that gold medal 🎉
Ty 🥰
The best ever!
If it wasn't for Christian Latner The Dream Team would never had won The Is Gold Medal.
My college tasked me to pick a successful sports team and discuss how they traversed stages of group forming and ended up achieving their goal. My first thought was the Dream Team. After brushing up on their journey, it's amazing to me how these pros started off playing like rag-tags and ended up smoking the world when they truly started working together.
Live on. ❤ Family
Misty-eyed here. Bravo.
My god, what a team!
What it would be like to have one of those shirts today
This is so unfair to the other team ❤ we will never see a better basketball team
It wasn't the Rose Garden, it was The Memorial Coliseum, the Rose Garden wasn't built yet
I don't know what to feel about Stockton not getting recognized on the streets of Barcelona even by Americans. It's funny as hell, also a bit sad. He was a great player.
THE GREATEST TEAM EVER ASSEMBLED IN TEAM SPORT HISTORY!!!!
33:40 boy it went down at the pool😂😂😂😂
"Bobby Hurley didn't play 2 seasons in the NBA(chuckles)..." What a clown! It should be noted that 19 games into his rookie season Hurley was involved in a terrible car accident. He suffered a severed trachea, two collapsed lungs, fractured left shoulder blade, five broken ribs, fracture in his back, torn ACL in his right knee, fractured right fibula. The surgeon who operated on him said those injuries would've killed 99 out of 100 people. Hurley played several more seasons but obviously was never going to be the same player again.
I don't think there will be another team like the dream team ❤
These guys were like the Avengers of the NBA.
no one noticing john stockton is just hilarious
Love Stockton. I love that he thinks that it was his sunglasses, that is so American - the naïveté.
Wow u wish i was i was there
Barkley out scored prime MJ, let that sink in
He won MVP in the season after this
Mount Olympos of basketball....Team of gods...
Thanks Aswang
This is homework for my basketball team to watch it
No team assembled in today's world could beat the Dream Team!
For Tony Kukoc that first game wasn’t so much welcome to the real world, but welcome to hell.
Bobby hurley was a bad dude in college!
watch this, then watch Redeem Team right after
26:44 so awesome 👏
Magic to Bird. Beat combination ever
Wheres Bird in that photo
Bru magic reminds me tracy morgan
唯一的梦之队。谁能想到,梦之队的第一场训练赛,竟然输给了大学生队?
.mj did not play for the 1st match..u Labron fans..😂😂
哦。你通过我这一句话评论觉得我是勒布朗的粉丝?不要这么武断好不好。@@positivelangbai...4482
Be careful on cruise ships
They forgot about my boy Drexler! Where the hell is he lol
No offense to Laettner he was a great college player but that should’ve been Shaq….that team would’ve been ridiculous
33:57 "budlight is the strongest beer in the world" Me drinking damn near the entire bottle of a quart of 45% whiskey and still only on a buzz: yall only drink 5% beer an get fucked up??
he said budweiser and it has the most yeast out of all beers hence the hangover he was talking about
He clearly says Budweiser lol
Breh I'm from Poland where 6% beers are the norm and people drink 7, 8, even 9% beers. I went to UK where beers 5% and over are considered strong, and people drink hop water of like 3% and csll it beer, which is similar to what they do in US; at least in UK they drink pints (around 600ml), in US fratboys drink few 300ml 3% beers and be hollering and freaking out lmao But to say you drink whiskey and see beer as pointless is dumb. I can drink 0.7l bottle of whiskey in one evening and go to work next day without issues and not even get that drunk, but get me 12 Tyskies in pint size bottles and I'll be fuuuuucked up.
Cool story bro. Want a cookie?
Isaiah was pose to be on the team
43:12 😂😂😂😂
22:53
22:00
You can't get too close to micheal its a foul
It can happen again. Lebron could get one last posse.
Man imagine beating amateurs with professionals :/
Laettner shouldn’t have been on that team. It should’ve been Shaq.
Sigh. But he wasn't so no use arguing about it.
The reason they had Laettner was because he was willing to be the bench boy. As much as I love Shaq, he would not have been happy being the bench boy
I mean it really shouldn't have been a college player at all. Isaiah was obviously vetoed, but there's a slew of other deserving nba players like Dominique, Hakeem, and plenty of others.
@@AllUpOnshakeem is african
Laettner dominated shaq in college and won back 2 back titles. He deserved to be there.
wanwang
IT not on the team was BS
on the contrary it was all your fault and now you are whining and moaning that he wasn't on the Dream Team lol 😅 he was given marching orders not to do anything stupid inside the court but he did the unthinkable of course 😅
Bullshit, he was toxic as fck and would've destroyed the chemistry of the team which made it amazing.
Maybe the b st documentary ever done. This is history. The only time 11 HOF players on 1 team and to never trail 1 second of these games and to destroy teams the way they did was unreal. I mean teams were in awe of them and wanted to take pictures and were taking pictures during the game and were so star struck. That team was the best ever assembled.
I remember watching the documentary as a kid when it first aired on NBA TV I recorded it!! Now I watch it and just hate that Karl Malone is in the team 😂😂😂
Why the college kid??? Dennis rodman needed to be there!!!!
Superb athlete, fantastic rebounder and highly capable player at the elite level. But there was no room for his eccentricity and borderline buffoonery...not when you represent the Stars and Stripes.
Because they literally had to have one amateur player on the team? Did you pay attention to the doc at all? Lmao
