Are you sick of fingerprints all over your screen? I did this video a while back and it was just sitting in my backlog. I figured it was a good time to release it. Hope this helps people out.

I’ve also used those kind of oleophobic wipes. It does restore the factory feeling smoothness for a while but it wears off rather quickly like you observed. Works with fitness bands too. I like it, I just wish it lasted longer tbh. Cheers from a fellow OnePlus user.
Love OnePlus. Best phones on the market.

I did not even know about this coating! Great video with great information.
I start cleaning w/ alcohol once I’ve come to terms w/ the fact my oleophobic coating has ghosted me & my screen is a smudge factory. Now to be fair, I suffer from having clammy hands (not all the time but seemingly often) which I hate & does no favors for my screen & prob why my coating doesn’t last long as I always keep a cleaning rag/cloth clipped to my iPad & constantly wiping it. It’s not to long until I start adding alcohol. I’ve experimented w/ a couple DIY methods, (listed below if curious) seeing if any helped resistance to oils, smears, & smudges w/ marginal results. I’ve not found anything that works for very long, but again this might be because of my constant wiping. The products do at least make cleaning a lot easier & quicker for a period of time. The application is also much less time consuming than the one in this video. *Methods* - I treat my screen like a cars paint finish & just clean it well then apply a coating of car wax. - My old iPad I tried using a polishing compound by itself just to see what the results were like. (Yes, I’m aware any coating possibly left would have certainly been removed) -No, it didn’t work at all, but I did add a coat of wax again. - I now mostly use an application every so often of RainX which seems to work ok. Again, mostly just makes cleaning easier more than resistant. For me, I call it at least a half W…a V?
To be honest, a glass screen protector, the coating wears off quickly. It gets even more smuggie than the normal phone glass. There’s nothing we can do to keep our screen clean. Just wipe it off occasionally and just don’t bother with it much. That’s what I do. Great video though.
I do same thing. Idk how I even got here but I'm here lol not even gonna use this on my phone, originally I was searching for if the fingerpint method is best way to protect phone and got here lol
Hello! Thank you for the video ‘stop getting fingerprints on phone.’ I was wondering if this will also work on the back of the phone since iPhones have the same issue on the back. Also wondering about iPhone cases, is there a certain material this shouldn’t be used on, If you know what material of the case is, is it safe to use on the backside of the case? Thank you! Giulia
What i would do is apply it before i go to sleep, and the next day repeat it until the wipe has no coating in it for maximum effectiveness.
Lol...I thought this was going to be about disabling the fingerprint sensor, but it's still cool anyway.
No. But that is pretty easy on a OnePlus.
Used the oleophobic liquid on Amazon. Applied it at bed time with plastic baggy. Next morning buffed it. Repeated this for a few nights. Screen like new.
Even a new phone picks up fingerprints. But is easier to remove. So it seems this product does work as intended
Thanks for the interesting review. I tried this on a new OnePlus9 and a couple of old phones, (one an old Note4) and, then some "Hard Shell" automotive wax, and results seem just the the same except the auto wax seems to last a bit longer.
Nice tip. I may try it.
@@CyberCPU If you have a bit of that of oleophobic treatment left it might be worth a try. A couple of decades ago there was a Poly-Teflon wax for aircraft that was super slippery and held a shine for years, even 200mph bugs hardly stuck to it, and ice had a tendency to not stick to it either. I heard it wad discontinued because of health some heath risk. I also used to use some anti-ice adhesion liquid that I suspect was silicone. it was pretty effective but had to be re-applied often. I just looked and see there's a new and improved aerospace anti-Ice coatings that might be worth a try.
@@jackoneil3933 My only concern is its effect on the digitizer. I'll have to play around with it and test it out. I had a tempered glass screen protector that just recently broke so I took it off and I'm benefiting from my phone's original oleophobic coating now. I'll have to wait for it to wear out.
@@CyberCPU have you seen the 3M Video channel for '3M Novec Electronic Grade Coatings'? Novev 2202 Electronic Grade Coating appears to be the wipe on verson I've tried a few tempered glass protectors, that claim to be oleophobic, they don't seem to be any different than the other cheap ones. Premium oleophobic coatings appear to be heat cured and polished, and I doubt that's the case with most or all glass screen protectors. So far I've not seen any that have any sort of anti-reflective coatings either, even the ones that claim to be anti reflective. I've also noticed that after a week or two most glass screen protectors tend to get a bit of oil incursion around the edges, I'd pay a fair bit for a glass screen protector that has OEM quality anti-reflective and oil properties but I don't know if there is one. I've got an old Note 3 that's had a high quality plastic film protector installed when new, I still use it every day for a couple of apps, and while the film is pretty scuffed and gouged it still has good anti-reflective, oil resistant, optical and low-friction properties. I've been thinking of trying plastic film protector over a glass protector.
@@jackoneil3933 I use OnePlus phones and buy their tempered glass screen protectors. They are extremely high quality and perfectly fitted for the phone.
Great video , the procedure reminds me of applying screen protectors. Following instructions to the letter and still having one or two pesky air bubbles which I would chase around the screen to no avail😂😂
I hate screen protectors. I use the tempered glass screen protectors on my phones and don't have that problem.
How long will it keep the feel? The factory iPhone coating usually lasts for more than 2 years of moderate 1-3hrs a day use. Or is switching protective glass panels a better idea to prevent fingerprints and keep that factory feel long term?
The question raised "is switching protective glass panels a better idea to prevent fingerprints and keep that factory feel long term?" IS OF PRIMARY INTEREST TO OUR FAMILY.
No AI here, was a genuine question and I continue to not see anything inspiring confidence... ???
Can someone tell me how well it worked? I couldn't see from the smudges on my own screen
Lmao
it amazes me how you dont have more views!
My page is only a year in a half old. We are growing fast.
Does it work with the iPhone 13 back glass too?
What's the name of this product again?
Hmmm... Seems I have just solved the BSOD problem (hopefully). The probable solution was establishing the max power supply for GPU itself and for the whole PC overall. Before, I had everything on "optimal" supply. I changed settings to max in system parameters and in parameters located inside Nvidia Control Panel. Besides, I also disabled the fast startup for Windows and changed something in power settings for HDD. The setting is known as "Turn off the hard disk after", I changed default 20 minutes to zero. In the result, I haven't experienced BSODs for last 4 days. It's a big term because I never reached this number of days without BSOD before. Probably I just stabilized the power balance in my PC and made GPU supplied enough to carry videogames without BSOD. But if so, why then PC was working well without blue screens for months and even years? Is it related with a fact that I recently installed Windows 10 instead of Windows 7 in June, and the first BSOD was received already in August? I accurately remember many people on forums who started getting BSODs just after updating their Windows from 7 to 10, but after returning to 7 again the problem disappears. That all is interesting. Now I just hope that PC is free by this annoying screens.
Power supplies cause strange issues some times.

I clean my screen with a tissue sprayed with alcohol, does the job fine.
I’m watching this video. Two years later after pulling a new iPad mini six out of the box. It is instantly covered in fingerprints all the time. Does it matter if I douse my hands in acetone first. There will be fingerprints. It’s driving me insane.
Well if you really wash your hands with acetone you could have possibly washed off the oleophobic coating.
Believe this or not, but i use sunscreen,it lasts at least 5 months without a fingerprint.
💀 how much you use
@@KINGPANTHERZ every day 10 hrs a day 7 days a week
What is your process to apply it and clean it off to get the result?
So this is not for a case with built-in plastic screen protector?
No. It's not.
I have never done it)
It's worth it.
I still get finger prints on my phone screen, and have a glass screen protector which I also get finger prints
are you a trumpie
I don't know what that is.
whats with the "T" shirt
Just a Tshirt. Freedom is good. I would just like freedom to be cool again. For some bizarre reason it seems like many people don't like freedom. I'm personally quite fond of it. 😉
