The technique used by aiming legends like Relaaa! Your mileage may vary so give it a good shot and let us know how you go.
What happened to relaa
Now that's a name I haven't heard in a while
but how about the other aim legend faye
so you suggesting to use fingertips instead of stock mouse glides?
Yes the batttle field legend of insane reflex flicking,
KovaaKs : Explains the technique with great detail and depth. Everyone in the comment section: "Oh yes, I've been doing that since I was born"
lmao so true
fr
I also do this after came out womb
Fr so true
I've used this technique for almost 7 years lol, Helped me get champ on r6 and be extremely accurate with my micro flicks, Told my friends to use it since I thought I was the only person using it but they thought it was stupid and impractical probably because I explained it weird, Glad to see you cover this but I'm sad at the same time as I thought it was my own secret technique lol
carry me? 🤣

@@DinoPDX nice sociopathingg
Can you still press the side mouse buttons tho?
@@reapertemptations Yes fairly easily, I feel like I have good or at least decent mechanical coordination as I can get 180-ish WPM on a good day using type tests but then again I've been playing pc for so long that it's just second nature at this point
I do something like that when I am using snipers. It's pretty useful! I thought it was a mistake or a "bad habit" but now I see it works pretty well and helps a lot. Nice video!
I've found that using this technique paired with a slower than normal sensitivity leads to some pretty consistent controlled aim ability. I play CSGO so being able to be consistently preaim when peeking/clearing angles is very important but so is being able to flick fast if you're caught out or need to dodge a flash. This technique lets you do both easily
How slow are we talking for sens ?
@@passerby1553 just slower than what your are used to. I went from 1.95 on 400 dpi to 1.45 on 400dpi
Do you get fatigue or sweat when you grip the mouse like that ?
I do the same thing playing valorant and found that lowering sens a little helps with my control. That said I dont think raising the mouse helps at all and its better to have a good control on the mouse and a slippery surface
You can also increase your sens if you are able to grip the mouse harder. This will fatigue your fingers faster though. There are some people using insanely tight grips that are able to use very high sensitivities.
im usually really good at all the battlefield's except for bfv.. i tend to struggle with this game because of ongoing latency issues that i cant seem to ever figure out (tried everything) and also one frame deaths. i had a similar grip to this but not too extreme like how you showed us in this video.. so my fingers have always been in this position but always hovering above my hard mouse bad with my fingers slightly touching . i gave this a try and in my first game i was so damn accurate that i had 45 kills in bfv in one round lol.. i have NEVER had that many kills in this game so im so stoked to try this technique again.. i would usually be satisfied with 24 kills which i seldom get with this game. thanks so much bro..
These clips are some of the best I’ve seen
mr kovaaks back at it again with the aim tips
I just realised that im already using this grip so well and already mastered on it for years without even noticed that this is a really good technique and just learned now
I also realised I use that already
I also realized this the day after I was born
I can attest to this, I figured this out on my own. It makes tracking a bit stuttery but your flick speed and long distance accuracy will be insane. But like you said, if you stop digging in so much it will allow you to glide better. And your mousepad will make a huge difference with this. Using a very silky mousepad makes it harder to dig in and you will still be able to track really well.
Everything you said in this video is what I did when I reached global elite in csgo 5 years back. The reason I developed a similar technique is because it allowed me to transition from arm movement to finger movement smoothly without "skipping pixels" when making the transition. For example, if I know an enemy is behind me, I can make a 180 degree turn, use my wrist and thumbs to "almost stop", and use my fingers to make the final adjustment for the headshot. The key here is to keep your shoulder, wrist and fingertips "active" at all times. I also sometimes add more of the thumb if I need more stopping power.
Oh I am using this grip for a long time. But mine is mixed and situatuional. I use side fingers to actualy move mouse itself most of the time. It's a whole group of muscles capable of pixel perfect micro flics and also it's uses anatomy to compensate the camera's movement distorsions in the game. The curve of the path you move your mouse substracts the disctortions and you can easily move your crosshair in parralel to the ground. And since you actively using your side fingers you always have your hand and shoulders muscles free for unexpected enemies.
LOL Thank you for reminding me to cut my fingernails; I was getting frustrated because my wingman shots/flicks weren't hitting my target as well as they should, even my tracking seems off ... u a legend!
This was super informative! Kudos
Do you have an easier time doing this with the g303 (or other specific mice) than other mice? Compared to most other mice, it's transition from side to bottom seem to have a bigger area to put your fingers on. I've dabbled with this technique in my experimentations, and what ends up happening is that I naturally want to lift it higher and higher, because I want a firmer grip for my fingers. So at some point the mouse stops tracking, even though its not that high lifted. This even happens with mice that has higher lod. AND the reason I want to lift it higher, is because if you lift it high enough the mouse sits even more snuggly in your palm also, resulting in more control (imo). Your thoughts on this maybe being easier on the g303 (or other specific) because of shape?
This technique makes some really sus stuff kinda work. I used to main the g502 using this specific technique (mind you i didn't realize i was doing it back then) on, i shit you not, 9cm/360! Yes, that's a stupid sens- yes my desk was tiny and yes the g502 is too much of a brick to play on anything but high sens. This technique makes heavy mice bearable and stupid high sens' playable so long as you can get a comfortable grip (not good, just playable lol).
had a palm grip mouse for most of my gaming years. it had a thumb rest so i could only break with my pinky. this resulted in me flicking to the right very precisely and when flicking left i had to overshoot and then come back to break. it was quick but not optimal. made me play right-side angles more
I was struggleling griping my mouse and i saw youre hand placemwnt and tried that out and it comfortable thanks man im subcribed!
As someone that is very new to MnK I’m looking forward to putting this into practice! Thanks for the video man 👌
As a wrist player with medium sens ive been doing this by accident without thinking, when u need to 360 and u gotta lift your mouse super fast after a 180 for example, I kept lifting it a bit by accident when I needed to flick a lot or turn really fast. And as someone who for example will hold his breath or press keys harder in high tense situations, pushing my mouse down was just a thing my body did naturally when I had to track. People were actually surprised how good my aim was back in the day with a medium/high sense, I didn't understand it either, but now it makes sense hahah
i just realize it now.. if i’m in my flow state while gaming my mouse grip is always exaaaactly like that. now i know why i achieved such a cracked aim in 1 year of switching from controller to mouse and keyboard
Dude :D Im testing mice and gripstyles since many years... After seeing this video i can tell i ranked them unconsciously by how well i can apply this technique.. thank you good sir :D
I have the same mouse you use in the video, but I don't understand how I have to give pressure, in the video you say to push down, but basically when I use the thumb (the same as you hold it) I just press it to the right for more pressure and control , not down, or do you mean the fact that the thumb must be like in the photo and the pressure move it to the right? moreover ... I find myself in everything you say, but in games like valorant, in which you have to perform a lot of micro corrections, you would recommend to always adapt pressure, or as you say even closely you should give less to make it easier? ... as one guy already asked, is it better to make a flick while applying pressure anyway? I always refer to a game as valorant, as in tracking like apex it is automatic based on the distance, but valorant or cs have different recoil dynamics . moreover, I looked at the old video of the optimal grip, I can't understand how to do it, the little finger I tend to put it very "curly", and I feel that the micro corrections I can only feel with the thumb, is it normal? would you have any suggestions on how to get him to use his little finger later on as seen in the old video? or in your opinion it can go well with g303 shrould edition mouse
I do this as well when ADS usually but I also plant my pinky down sometimes and it works as a stabilizer as well but being able to switch between Touching and Not touching the mouse pad
Amazing. S tier vids
so whenever you do try to be precise and hit the mid to longer range shot you’re essentially slightly lifting the mouse off the mousepad?(naturally by griping the mouse tighter)
Awesome. Thanks
Awesome. Thanks
Thank you
Haha, I do this a lot in range and the technique of aiming or dragging with your finger can be really helpful for precise and accurate aim and if you are playing on a high sens, even better!
This doubled my kills, thanks.
ayy i morphed into this instintually over the years. its what feels best for me cause i like a higher dpi
I’ve been getting to this grip. I use glass skates and high dpi so it’s a must have brakes.
I naturally learned how to do this. Only been playing pc/m&k for about about 3 weeks on valorant and I’m already plat 1. I find this technique, along with applying more downward force onto the mouse, when running a low sense, very useful. I usually lean the mouse onto one edge and use my thumb as the brake. This allows me to quickly drop the mouse back down if need be.
Will this work on a mousepad such as the Steelseries one with high stopping power? I’m worried that it might be hard to track with this mousepad.
love this mouse
U a genius thx for help ⚡️
❤ just subbed I’m going to try this I’m having issues with the mouse I have the keyboard down .. I keep loosing battles cause my aim is all over the place nice video about to work on this
Hey, are you planning to release a built in sensitivity randomizer to kovaaks?
I didn't even know that was a technique. Idk when I randomly started doing it, but I just relised it. Guess it's a good thing
Tried it on CSGO and valorant on a hardpad. even when lowering my sens from 48 to 69 cm/360 my aim was still shaky haha, but I got used to it after ~30 minutes, using an Orochi V2 really helps with this technique because of the sensor being on the front, so I actually lift it from the back, having the front skates lightly touching the pad, feels fantastic. (Also tried it on quake live at 30 cm/360... DAMN it feels so good, tracking and flicking are precise, and because my fingertips are in contact with the pad, I can do an almost instant 180° turn haha)
tysm.
I’m just learning mouse and keyboard, but I do this just naturally because my mouse is too small for my hand. So maybe it is better to use a slightly smaller mouse for your hand size.
thanks.
Might not see this, old video. But if ive gotten in the habit on most games and hand positioning ( i main the Logitech g203) having my thumb on the side mouse button in a claw hybrid grip qll the time, due to my hold to crouch keybind being side mouse button, would that hinder my performance at all? It feels natural now and unsure if i need to make a change. Thanks for the video
This is usually how I play fps games. But sometimes have the issue where my pinky drags. Sometimes it helps for precision. But sometimes it can trip you up
Alternative options -Lower sensitivity (#1 issue most new people have. Higher requires more precision while lower requires more effort for flick) -Get a mouse pad with more control -Get mouse feet with more control -Fingertip grip for maximum micro adjustment (not recommended) -Maybe try mouse acceleration (not recommended) -Adjust mouse weight (lighter mice have less momentum but are easier to over flick initially) -Get a mouse with a different shape (you might have a bad shape for your grip style causing you to over flick on one side) -Practice your flicks rather than relying on a new technique (master 1 style rather than 1000 different ones) Overall it’s good to experiment, but smaller adjustments are recommended before larger ones. Also flicking is the most overrated technique. Game sense, crosshairs placement, movement, and positioning are way more important in 90% of fps games.
I use mouse accel software with adjustable curve, helped me after I got the hang of it
@@houghwhite411 Mouse accel can be good, but you have to know what you are doing, and in my experience it takes longer to develop muscle memory with it.
@@vorkot1 Comfort is the most important. The other things I’d look for are stability, and your ability to micro adjust. A palm grip will provide the most stability out of any grip, but at the cost of the ability to micro adjust. A fingertip grip is the best for micro adjustment while being the least stable. My grip is a fingertip grip with the right side of my palm as an anchor point which gives me an anchor point for stability, and the ability to micro adjust on my left side at the cost of not being able to micro adjust on my right side. If you think your grip is holding you back, then I’d recommend figuring out your weakness in your aim and then adjusting your grip accordingly.
>mouse accel >finger tip grip >low sens >flicking is overrated this player has been ruined by big aim
@@vorkot1 atlast not this one on video its unhealty grip leads your finger tips hurt as hell later years ( same hapen to womens who use high heel shoes daily ) weird shape finger tips isnt something you realy want do for gaming
Always been using my thumb ring and pinky as a brake, never found any advantage with other grips, so ive been using it for the past 15 years, Imo its also much easier to adjust to a new sens aswell with this grip
It's not just about using your thumb and pinky as a brake. It's also about hovering the mouse.
i actually do that without realising it until I watch this video
I do this sometimes and didn’t even know it 😮
nice content what's your hand size?
So apply more pressure down when flicking target switching? And when tracking don't do this
Wait so this technique is good!? I used to do this when I was a beginner but stopped because I thought it's bad for aiming.
I can't believe how accurately this represents my grip, I've been using it ever since I started playing FPS games and have been laughed on because of ignorance. Thanks for pointing out why it is so good and effective !
Great content 👌🏻subbed
Ive been using my pinky finger as a brake for my mouse since the start.
you can also change the monitor coefficient because I changed fas in the game
Didn't even know this was a technique, i used it because of my own habit
could you make a video where you get multiple pros from multiple different shooter games like : Apex Legends,Csgo,Valorant,PubG,Fortnite,Warzone/Vanguard/AnyotherCOD, to try out all these different tips and trick you've given to see how much it really effects pros (obviously it can't be scripted or forced what they say)
Do you have a recommended aim training routine for Cod MW
Which finger should i use to balance and keep the mouse stable ? I seem to switch betwen the ring finger and pinky finger and i dont know which one i should use
It should be both ideally. Mouse shape and grip style may not make that possible though.
@@TheMeta but which finger touch the mouse first between the ring finger and pinky ? whenever I change the order i feel like it fully changes the feeling on the mouse
I use a Black Gaming Aluminium Mouse Pad, its smooth as glass for fast movement but allows fast finger braking.
You can mix that in with normal techniques, you don't have to rest the mouse on your fingertips at all times. And you will get less fatigued. It's just normal logic tbh.
This works great on deathadder, been doing it for like 10 years, I just feel inconsistent, but maybe that's just me
Will you make mouse sensitivitiy guide?
What kind of mouse should I chooise. I have a 502 but it is impossible use like this. I thought model D glorius. What do you think?
So those Aftermarket glass skates on the mouse are useless now ?
I used to be a flick god on this style and switched to no fingers on pad when I realized it wasn't normal... I can't perform well on this style anymore but I might consider switching back to it... There aren't many videos covering this grip and I thought it wasn't possible to reach top levels with it, guess im wrong
Another option is to use a soft mousepad, like the Artisan Otsu Xsoft. It's the same idea. You press down to add more pressure for stopping power, and you release pressure for better glide. It's also more comfortable to use and easier with the wrists and fingers.
So would you apply more pressure down when target switching/flicking or would you want more a faster glide
@@johnmerwin5442 It’s preference. Personally I like pressing down on a fast flick because I’m already moving my hand fast and I want the skates and pad to somehow assist with the control. When tracking I don’t press down because I want the glide to feel “clean” and not muddy so that I can smoothly track the target.
An extra tip for this grip is; Attempting to use a mouse that must be shorter *than your hand* in my case is not a good fit for this grip because my mouse is too big for it and does not offer; either a comfortable feel or a firm long-term grip. (I didn't pay much attention. I don't remember if the guy from the video mentioned it)
I have a literal mouse like, its a baby mouse, lenovo m20, gonna try this with that one
oh ive already been doing this unintentionally
Didn't know my natural grip was a good choice. The side of my deathadders all have a thumb groove.
I've been holding my mouse like this since 1998. I thought it was a handicap because my hands are really large and force me to hold my mouse this way, but it never stopped me from destroying everyone
I also been doing this the day I came out womb
Hero 5 mimics this. And I love it.
Can u make a video how to hold the mouse/get it in position or send the video of it as I can't find it
@kovaaks so what grip u use in apex?
This grip works perfect for me since I have bigger hands and a Corsair M65 Elite.
its like aiming in 3D
Unfortunately I have a g502 and there isn't an option for higher lift off distance detection whatever the heck so I have to keep the mouse super low and that's not particularly easy with the grips on the sides
WHO ARE U UR THE BEST PLAYER OMG 3OIWOWOWOWOWOWWOWOWOWOWOW TEACH ME EVERYTHING U KNOW NOWWWWW!!!!
I've always played with a similar grip to your Optimal Mouse Grip video but using this hold ADS seems pretty tricky, any tips??
Toggle ads instead of hold
It makes this technique work better and it makes ads tracking easier imo
@@lukazivkovic2510 jesus it's so obvious now I think about it hahahaha I'll give that a try!
Used this for Years and always thought it was wrong ..lol
Knuckle claw thoughts? Used by torje i think
sounds great, but ive become way to reliant on my mouse buttons. i try and program them to whatever i use most for whatever game im using. remember i use to put the pump shotguns on my mouse buttons to get ridiculously good at double pumping in fortnite (back when it was a thing)
Hey, should my grip be tight or gentle?
Would this not file down your finger tips while playing the game as sweaty as we like to play it. This is the main reason I don't let my fingers contact the mouse pad.
I never knew this I just started with M&K 2018
This will make your flick slower for sure
What's the difference between this method and simply placing your thumb and pinky on the mousepad with normal grip?
this method is less healthy for your wrist. Thats the difference.
@@matheusmachado5737 how?
@@snowyalpines6811 More tension, bro!
And what about controlling the vertical aim? Please assist me
Should we be using a hard mousepad for more grip with fingertip skin or a cloth mousepad for less grip? Is this even something to consider lol
For glass pads it's probably no good, but other hard pad surfaces should be fine. Works best on cloth pads.
So which mouse has a high lod because I’ve been using deathaddler v2
I used to do it many years ago with my deathadder but it was the only mouse I had that I was able to do it with comfortably.
So if I get good at this does that mean that a fast mousepad would be better?
personal preference
how do you unlearn years of using a different grip? Really struggling to change my style without reverting back to my old grip.
hop into aim trainers with your new style to break the habit. I was in the same position mostly cause I played RTS and could never for the life of me get used to FPS but only realized 1 grip doesn't really help for all genres of games. RTS is more fingertip heavy, FPS is more wrist and arm heavy. A lot of people fail to realize this and is the reason they cant xfer to other games. Shroud has this problem when he has to play any game that requires a lot of mobility like apex legends or fortnite. He's so used to only using left and right strafes because nobody ever goes up and down in CSGO. He says these games are hard but they really aren't, i think he lacks the IQ to realize this on his own but I'm sure if someone told him that was his flaw he would be at the top of the game.
Does this mean that the mouse should be as if in the air and not touch the mousepad with the glides?
short range, fast movements = touching mousepad, long range, micro adjustments = flying
I don’t manage to doo this in a razoe basilisco Hyperspeed because doesnt have the height level regularmo-nos
I play on console, sue me, but I tried playing kbm on Fortnite and absolutely steamrolled doing this technique. Thank you. You literally helped me increase my aim instantly with one video. Subbed.👍
